We had Julian for a cook, he is entertaining and a good cook.
I thought the chicken was tough and the chef was uninspired.
We had reservations for three people at 8PM. We weren’t seated until 8:30. We waited over an hour just for our drinks.
We visited Kimono on New Years Eve. I believe the restaurant was short on staff. Getting a drink was difficult. We waited nearly 1 hour for any service. Then it seemed rushed. The food was good and the chef very entertaining. We had to go to the bar to get any drinks and even water. Because the food was good, I would give it another try, not on a holiday.
New Years Eve
Romantic, entertaining, and great meal. Our go to place for Christmas Eve and what a great way to start the holiday. I did not rate the noise level as low but why would you want that way. Your right there in the kitchen. Be prepared to wait if they are busy but the reward is in the meal and the ambience.
We had an 8pm reservation...we started receiving food at 9:50pm and am just now leaving at 10:18pm. The wait was just far too long.
Good food. Teppan seating was great. Would definitely go again
Went for a birthday lunch, staff very accommodating, food was good and lots of it couldn’t finish it all. The Teppan chef was good and personable, rivals Benihana.
Average food quality but more expensive than higher quality places. Our bill was over $100 for two people where we typically spend around $65 for same food and drink options. This was our first time in and most likely our last. For that price point, quality was just average. Too many other options nearby that are much better value.
This was really good! I ordered the “Ocean Wave” which includes filet mignon and scallops. I requested the filet to be cooked medium rare and that is exactly how I got it. The scallops were also cooked perfectly! The chef did tricks and was very entertaining. It was worth the price and I would definitely come here again.
60th birthday party. Had a great server; she was in training but did really well and was really trying to ensure everything went smoothly. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for a fun date!
Chef was sweet and funny. Food was good
Julian was our chef and he was AWESOME!!! We have gone here several times and he is by far the BEST!
Always fresh fun and delicious!
If my friend is a vegetarian I would say no. The vegetarian choices are very limited. The food is overpriced for what you receive. Ice cream portions are way too small.
Great food and a lot of fun. Very pricey so best for a night where you want to splurge.
Went for my fiance's birthday. It took the waiter 30 min to get our drinks. Sat down at 815 didn't get started with dinner till almost 930. Then they proceeded to try and rush us out since they close at 10. Foods good. But the service was not what we were expecting.
Pricey for the quality and amount served but good food usually. We often order at a booth and noticed the quantity of veggies/scallops and filet mignon is much smaller lately.
My 51st birthday with my teen children. The chef was very entertaining, skilled, and witty. And he prepped some great food, at all times entertaining with his food humor.
Our chef, Julian was AMAZING! Entertaining for both adults and children! My son, who was the birthday celebrant asked if we could request him for our next celebration at Kimono! Thank you Julian for making my son’s birthday dinner that much more special! The food was really delicious!
Great food....equally good as Benihana. Love the sakes.
We love Kimonos and would recommend it to anyone. The staff is so friendly and does a great job,
We usually try to go to Kimono’s for family birthdays and other celebrations. Love the food and the whole preparation process! Always an enjoyable experience!!
Sisters-in-law Birthday visiting from Washington State. Her first experience
Love it. Drinks were delicious
From start to finish everything was Sugoi! (Japanese for awesome) was a bit quite and empty but its Labor day weekend. We will be back again.
The food was great, the restaraunt was not very busy but the staff and cook were very attentive. I would definately recommend this place to my friends.
I ordered the tuna steak and there was no option for me to get it cooked medium style. The waitress had to go back and ask multiple times. I also asked for the veggies that were supposed to go on top to not have them at all but the waitress said they can put it on the side but they were making it seem like it was a big inconvenience when its really saving you from cooking them at all. It wasn’t a big deal considering we were there celebrating my brothers birthday and he ended up taking my veggies and the chef was so nice and made my food perfectly! All in all it was a good meal and great service!
Food is consistently good however this time we were not impressed with the wait time for our cook. We were seated at 8 pm, took 10 minutes before we were approached by our waiter for drinks then our cook didn’t even start at our table until almost 9pm. Not sure what the delay was but nobody apologized or informed us of a delay.
The food was wonderful and the chef was very entertaining.
Waitress/Bartender was awesome. She was attentive and friendly. My food was not hot so had to ask waitress to take the plate back.
Waited for 35 min. for a table when we had a reservation for 7pm. Perhaps to get more money out of customers to sit at the bar and drink before they eat.
Food is always fantastic however.
The restaurant is beautifully done.
The food was delicious and plentiful
And the price reasonable.
But best of all was our server Chris who was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and efficient.
We went here to eat before my sisters bachelorette and it did not disappoint! Our server was awesome! She kept our drinks refilled and we didn’t have to call her over not once because she was so attentive and friendly! I will definitely be coming back! And our chef was hilarious and very entertaining and our food was delicious!
Great food and service, but the dood service was slow. Still great meal
The food taste good but a bit too salty and I meant the teriyaki sauce. Fried rice price is too high at $4.50. Thank you for your time.
I have been to all the Hibachi steak houses in the Bay Area, and Kimono is far above the best.
From Food to the Ambience.
Food was good quality meats and seafood. Fried rice is very tasty. Bar service was top quality, very good bloody Mary and Gin and tonic mix to perfection.
Very much enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for your hospitality!
