Wonderful patio dining. Great cocktails and food. Incredibly helpful staff.
Beautiful space and artwork. Large space, tall ceilings, and warm decorations. Service was great. Food was great. Excited to go back
A really amazing dinning experience.
Excellent! One of our favorite places in the Sugarhouse area.
I dined here last night with my family and enjoyed it even more than a year ago! We are traveling through from SC and made it a point to eat here again based on the great food and ambiance we experienced last year! This year did not disappoint and already want to go back. The inside is gorgeous, food is delicious and the wait staff are professional ans courteous! Thank you for a great evening!
The service is great, although we were expecting something more fresh for seafood. overall I recommend the place
We had a great time there celebrating my wifes birthday
Romantic and quiet. Love it.
I was excited to try this restaurant when I heard about it. I have this memory of the amazing food at her previous restaurant Absolute. The building and general appearance of the restaurant are very upscale feeling besides the men’s restroom stall door that won’t latch and has duct tape all over it. There were things about this restaurant that weren’t up to the standards of the price point of the food. The service was very standard, nothing like I’ve had at expensive or even less expensive places. I really should not need to ask for a refill on any beverage, the place was not overly busy. I’ve noticed a handful of servers at expensive restaurants are possibly trying to act upscale, but honestly come off as rude or like they have better things to do with their time. Just smile, be personable and nice. I sort of regret the 20 percent I left. Even the host made me feel like I couldn’t stand out front to wait for the rest of our party, even though there wasn’t a soul on the outdoor patio yet. When they seated us it was not personable at all. At most restaurants at any price point the host will speak with you even if just a little bit and make you feel welcome. There were 6 of us and half of us thought the food was only decent. Presentation was excellent, so much so that I took a couple of pictures. The pork chop was dry and way too generously covered in sugary jam. The chanterelle mushroom soup was great and one in our party loved the portobello entree. Nothing else really seemed to wow us. Normally at a place like this someone is saying, this is the best I’ve ever had of a particular dish. This was not the case. One in our party had been before and warned it was not great. We still gave it a chance because some of us were so fond of the previous restaurant from the owner. Not even close to the excellent food I was expecting for the price point. Sorry to say I don’t think any of us will be back. Funny how most places on open table have so many stars.
WE always have the best experience here. Making reservations was awesome and they even called me back to confirm our options. Oysters on half shell were yummy. Service is always a "TEN."
Friday night date night is always great at Kimi’s. The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is energetic and trendy.
Eclectic but stunning menu leading to a joyous evening.
We had halibut picatta and filet mignon with calimari appetizer. My dining companion remarked that the chef was , "way too much in love with his sauces". Both of our entrees were drowned in their sauces. The filet had a nice wine sauce that was lost and disappeared under an assault of béarnaise. The halibut was completely disguised.
The waiter had difficulty taking our order because of the noisy atmosphere, and everything seemed pricey. The overall experience was pretentious and unsatisfying.
The food was ok. It's a nice restaurant and it had live music.
Food was delicious and the service was spot on. Never disappointed at Kimi's!
I love the food, the wait staff and the host. All were very nice and accommodating. Their food is amazing and very well portioned they also had some really fun drinks on the menu. My husband and I ordered two shots of tequila and we loved the presentation!
The outdoor seating was really nice. Service was exceptional. Drinks were unique combinations. Ceviche was so good.
Overall, the food quality was less thN I expected for the price point. The steaks were a bit overdone and the blueberry glaze on the halibut was odd. Not our go to place anymore.
We LOVE Kimi's!! It's one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Kimi is always a great host, and her staff is friendly, knows the menu, and gives great recommendations. The service is top! Menu isn't overwhelming, and its well thought out. The jalapeno bacon egg rolls are amazing!!! The fried chicken, swedish meatballs and so many others are outstanding! Thank you for always have a great menu, and staff!
Everything on the menu sounds amazing. Then when you get your meal it is AMAZING.
Every time I have been here the food is the same. Top quality with a new taste to try and savor.
Cannot wait to go again.
Not worth the money
A recent Saturday night visit was expected to be a special treat and the food did not disappoint. Our appetizers of jalapeño calamari and crab cakes were delicious with a quite generous portion of calamari. Also our dinner choices of Ahi lettuce wraps, the portobello mushroom entre and a shrimp toast were excellent but quite large so none of us were able to eat the entire amount.
The major complaint is the noise level - one especially loud group of 5 at a far table were so boisterous that we could hardly hear the band which was just adjacent to us. I think the proprietor could have asked them to consider other guests and to talk more quietly. So although the setting is beautiful, the ambience is down-rated due to noise.
Let’s start with the positives. We loved the look and feel of Kimi’s. It is open, modern, hip, and has some really nice art on the walls. The live music was very good. The band played appropriate music at the right volume. The service was quick and efficient. The food was good but certainly not great. We ordered the calamari appetizer. It was average at best with the coating overpowering the calamari. The pieces of calamari were small and not particularly tasty. One of us ordered a salad as an entree, and although the salad itself was very good, it was overdressed and that ruined the taste. We also ordered the Ahi tuna entree, and it was very good. The brownie dessert was delicious.
Given the ambiance and the prices, I had high expectations for the food and was somewhat disappointed. That said, I would probably give it another try.
We dined at 8pm on a Thursday and found it surprisingly loud with several large parties. As a couple we were not prioritized and had no server acknowledge us for a solid 15 minutes. She was very apologetic but was too busy. For these prices I am not interested in excuses. Then we ordered drinks, appetizers and meal at once to strike while the iron was hot so to speak and our appetizers arrived before our drinks. The food was great. We had the Mediterranean bruschetta which was delicious and the Ahi tuna which was very good. Overall with better more attentive service this would have been perfect.
Fast, friendly service and marvelous food..as always!
Kimi's never fails to impress. Delicious meals, creatively crafted cocktails and excellent service in a beautiful space.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Kimi's. The food and drinks we excellent and the service was wonderful. Absolutely loved the live music. We will be back again soon.
Absolutely excellent food. Execution was perfect. Portion sizes allow room for dessert. We focused on seafood dishes and weren’t disappointed. Some of the best oysters we’ve ever had, and we’re from the Gulf Coast.
Excellent place, very unique, food really good. I would recommend for sure.
Pork chop was exceptional. Filet and salmon were really good too. Meatballs were sub-par.
The food was delicious. We had the JBLT as an appetizer. Halibut Pizzole was the entrée special that I had and my wife had the Filet. Both cooked perfectly. Great time just not great service.
Amazing food, drinks and service. Low noise levels so it was easy to have a conversation
Delicious food, professional staff and they did an amazing job with options for my food allergies. We’ll be back!
It was wonderful! Delightful staff and delicious food!
Very attentive staff.
Best food and service we have had in a while! The food was flawless and was delivers to the table at the perfect temperatures. Taylor was great and very helpful with the menu. There was a two piece band playing providing awesome background music that made the dinner perfect!
Celebrate 40 yr anniversary
It was our first time to Kimi’s, and the food was delicious. The restaurant atmosphere was beautiful. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
Exceeded my expectations
Normally we’ve had a great experience. Last visit wasn’t quite up to the establishments usually high standards.
