Kimberton Inn Ratings and Reviews
Kimberton Inn has always been my favorite place . However, for Valentines Day, I had my first disappointment. One thing was a table of 12 loud and happy people were very close to our table of two with an annoying passing around us and behind us trying to get around them as they stand around their table. They should have been in a more secluded place for them and us. My appetizer and salad was excellent. For whatever reason, my entree, woman, was served after her husband. When I received it it appeared it had been sitting under the lights to keep warm with my filet Mignon which was medium rare to well done. I sent it back and we waited to the point my husband had finished and I told them to forget it. They graciously gave us a partial credit and served us dessert. Very disappointed as we had expected the excellent service and food as we have had before. Very disappointed.
This was our 4th visit to the Kimberton Inn. Even though it is a long drive from Lancaster, it is one of our very favorite fine dining establishments. Very highly recommend it. Go early for a drink at the bar then enjoy the excellent ssrvice and food in the dining room.
We have dined at the Kimberton Inn many times over the years. We have not been there in a while and decided to take our mom for her birthday dinner. It was fabulous. Sat in a cozy room with a fire in the fireplace. Food was amazing. Still a topknot restaurant after all these years.
We went to Kimberton Inn for my husband's birthday. It is one of our favorite spots for special occasions! The updated menu was fabulous, and the chef wrote a lovely "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on our dessert plate. We love coming here in the winter because of the fireplaces and cozy setting. There's not a bad seat in the house. Even though the restaurant is full and busy, we always manage to feel like it's just the two of us and our table isn't on top of the ones next to us. Very attentive service - the staff here is extremely dedicated, pleasant, and efficient. Cannot recommend enough - we love it here and will keep coming back! Next to try on our list is Sunday Brunch!
Kimberton Inn continues its notorious reputation of fine food & service. We were there recently for a birthday celebration with a table of ten. The owner, Jeff, is the epitome of professional service to his guests with a hands-on, "can't do enough", and VERY personal approach to the clientele. Thus, the venue has drawn many "regulars" over the years. The ambience is cozy fireside & candle-lit dining with numerous fireplaces in what is a charming historic Inn. It is particularly nice in the winter months. Their talented bartenders are experts with martinis and other specialty drinks. Recent expansion of the bar offers an improved layout, but the crowd is so intense (because it's so popular) that it is difficult to maneuver around on a typical Saturday night. Make reservations well in advance if you desire a weekend night! Live piano music adds to the cozy atmosphere. The food quality is outstanding & well presented, but portions are a bit small, leaving some diners craving a "second helping"...because it's so good. Many patrons dine right at the bar, but this adds to the crowd and hinders those just coming in for cocktails to find a seat. Nevertheless, if you are looking for fine service and good food, I highly recommend the Kimberton Inn! Perfect for special occasions or just a night to have a romantic dinner with your spouse or partner.
The food was amazing! Everything was cooked perfectly. Our server was not the best. She wasn’t bad but not very attentive after our food arrived. This is definitely an early dinning spot. Our reservation was for 7:45 and we were among the last people in the restaurant when we finished at 10:30.
We were trying to think of a place to go and had been to Kimberton Inn years ago and decided to go again. It’s an old Chester County inn and the decor has not been updated at all. However, the most important thing, the food, was outstanding. My husband’s rib eye was cooked perfectly as was my daughter’s duck breast. My salad with almond crusted chicken was also very good. The parking lot is awful and the decor could use some serious updating ( even historic inns need updated), but I would highly recommend it for the wonderful food and the very good, friendly service.
The ambiance was perfect, the food was ok. My $42.00 lobster tails looks like large shrimp and we're not tasty. Served on what looked like left over vegetable soup. No greens, no potatoes, just two small bread sticks. The service was the worst I have EVER experienced. Our waitress did not tell us her name, never refilled our soda or iced tea all of which were empty half way through the meal. We should have been there 60 to 90 minutes but we're there close to three hours because she was so slow to take and deliver our food. Dessert took forever as well. Very disappointed , will never go back, my friend agreed and will not recommend this place to anyone.
The Kimberton Inn is always excellent. Jeff and his staff always go above and beyond for thier customers. We celebrated New Years Eve yearly on Saturday and had a wonderful time and the food was exceptional. After our meal we sat at the bar for a night cap. A romantic evening at the Kimberton Inn. Thank you!
The Kimberton Inn has become our family's go to spot for a nice holiday meal and we plan another visit in the summer months. Since myself and many of my siblings live a far distance from our mother's house we travel back to spend Christmas with her. Great food, beautiful ambiance. Kimberton is lovely without being pretentious.
There is no place better to be on a cold Chester County night than the Kimberton Inn. With the fireplaces ablaze (real wood fires), it's a must see, especially during the holidays.
I know they were busy the night we dined there, what with a full house and a holiday party in progress, but we felt a bit rushed. One thing you want to do while you are there is drink in the atmosphere of the old inn, and we felt we got less of a chance to do that being rushed. Otherwise I would have given them an "outstanding" for all categories.
