Kimberton Inn Ratings and Reviews
The Kimberton Inn ceases to amaze me each time we go. The table we had was set so we could see the fire roaring in the fireplace and also see into the next room elegantly decorated for the holidays. We had a wonderful meal starting off with the special salad with blue cheese , apples organic greens, walnuts etc. the main course was the sirloin scallopini with deliciously mashed potatos and mushrooms on top with a sauce reduction. So good and tender
Pecan pie and the chocolate torte were both excellent
The service was excellent.
Birthday , service was spotty, food was okay, not fantastic, like the last time we were there. Specifically my fish with soggy and slightly overcooked I wouldn't say where's the freshest either. The chicken dish was glacé was way too heavy. And everything appeared to be over salted.
The food is always nicely prepared and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way. We like the Sunday Brunch menu in particular and use Kimberton Inn as one of our "family" event restaurants to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with extended family. The pace of the meal is never rushed. You have the time to savor and enjoy your food and company. The staff is pleasant and trained in the etiquette of serving in a fine dining establishment. They were extremely helpful in assisting my elderly parents in through a side door to avoid the numerous steps in their main entrance. The only detraction was that the noise did bounce around quite a bit where we were seated and it was difficult at times for to make conversation around the table. I have eaten there several other times and noise was never an issue before, so I think it was more the placement of our table on this visit. We will return and have recommended this restaurant to many of our friends.
This was yet another wonderful visit to Kimberton Inn, as its always a welcoming experience when we arrive & the cuisine is delicious until the last bite. The staff is very courteous & attentive. Comfortable atmosphere among each of the peaceful spaces there are to dine, with some having a cozy fireplace. You'll be greeted & recognized the next time, by the huge smiles you'll have when you depart such a terrific time.
It’s been 8 years since we’ve been to the Kimberton Inn. Prior to that we celebrated many special family occasions there. It is every bit as wonderful as we remember. The food still fabulous & the service outstanding. Now that we have returned to the area we look forward to more frequent visits to one of our favorite places.
Went for our 1 year anniversary, which was extra cool since it was where me and my wife got married. We didn't announce it, but they remembered and gave us dessert with 1 candle on it. Very personable staff with great food, and seriously amazing house cocktails, it has a rustic feel. A place you won't mind spending a few hours at! Some of the best service I ever encountered.
Kimberton Inn is a classic gem and never disappoints. Food is excellent as is the wine list. We prefer sitting in the bar area for the ambiance and jazz piano music. Owner Jeff E. is amazing and insures all details are perfect. Chef will alter recipes as needed to accommodate special diet (for example, I don't eat dairy). Don't pass up "Probably the best salad you will ever eat" as it is truly that. And make sure to save room for dessert!
Wonderful atmosphere and impeccable service. Food was very good and plated beautifully. My husband had the filet which was served with potato and nice vegetables, nice size portion and cooked to perfection. I had the grilled salmon which was excellent but served with three overcooked hush puppies and a teaspoon of slaw...I felt it was overpriced for a very small portion of "extras". Hummingbird cake was hands down the best but the blueberry crisp was watery with soggy "crisp". Overall we enjoyed our visit.
Food service and atmosphere were all fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the servers. We were celebrating my Mom's birthday and the server overheard my mom saying not to make a fuss and order a cake. She took the initiative to bring out a very nice special dessert with a candle and Happy Birthday decoration written on the plate in chocolate. She turned a great dining experience into something really special.
The Food and Atmosphere were good as usual. The one thing we feel should be addressed, considering the Cost of the Entree's - if your going to an upscale venue with good to excellent Food and your paying top dollar for the Entree, you definitely should get a Salad and a Vegetable included - they should not be extra.
We were very disappointed in the food. The halibut was not fresh, texture was that of prefrozen fish, also very bland flavor with dry corn fritters. Total plate did not look appetizing/colorful. For that price?
The creme brule has half fridge cold and half luke warm from the gratin on top.
Overall not very impressed and also a very traditional/old fashioned menu offering.
No vegetarian options and vegetables did not come with the entree, they had to ordered separately.
On the plus side, the decor was traditional 200 years old, lovely chairs but menu could have been updated.
We often go to Kimberton for special occasions. A lovely old inn with great ambiance. The menu is varied and we enjoyed our meal very much. The service was very personal and attentive and added to the experience. I like their single malt scotch selection which is more varied than many similar restaurants.
Red snapper was outstanding...cripsy outside...moist & flaky inside. My husband raved about the duck.
We shared a Caesar salad which was mediocre. My husband was disappointed with his apple martini.
Overall a very good experience...lots of warm ambience...attentive service.
Birthday dinner. The atmosphere was upscale and historic without being stuffy or pretentious in any way. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and kind and her assistant was on top of everything happening at our table. My fiancé and I will definitely be back. Well worth it!
