Fantastic meal. Everything we had was delicious. A go to for a romantic meal. A little pricey but worth the money. Beautiful views of the water and sunset.

Always a great dining experience at Kimball’s Kitchen! We have spent two special occasions at Kimball’s and each time the food is exquisite and service impeccable! The wait staff was very kind, personable and attentive, and meal selections were delicious with a unique twist of sauces and flavors. Though a bit of a drive toward Corolla, KK is well worth the trip, especially to see a spectacular sunset through panoramic window views. Cannot wait to return!

Dino was the best wine steward! We just loved him and will ask for him each time we go back.

My husband found the Waygu Beef entree to not be worth the $78 price. He felt it was way too tough.

Prices are a little steep but we expect that with fine dining.

All in all, one of our favorite restaurants.

Unfortunately this will be the last time we dine here. My wife and I had been dining here for the last 10 years while on vacation. We've noticed over the last few years it's slowly gone downhill. Our experience this past week was the worst one. Our stakes weren't cooked properly. We had to send them back twice. They couldn'teven figure out who ordered what and we had to instruct them. Our waitress took a very long time to take our order. Her attentiveness during our 2 hours of being there was lacking. Normally I wouldn't be so picky but this is supposed to be an upper level establishment and not Applebees. It's very unfortunate this was our favorite place to dine when we visit the outer banks.

Kimball’s Kitchen is my favorite restaurant to visit while our family visits the outer banks. Tonight makes our 4th year in a row and every year the food is excellent. This year, though, was my favorite experience yet. The food and service were both a little bit better than in years past. In my opinion, kimball’s is the only true fine dining experience on the OBX. Everything we had tonight was perfect but I was really blown away by the flavors that the chef created-Example:
House made bacon jam.....what a unique flavor, I’ve never tasted anything like it. Amazing.

Kimball’s is like a prime steak house but so much more. A must try for anyone who loves great food.

My compliments to the chef, he is a master.

Service was excellent, great views of Pamlico Sound. Our steaks (filet and Delmonico) were pretty much tasteless and needed to be sent back to the kitchen to be warmed up. Not what we expected for the price paid.

We went to Kimball's for our 30th anniversary. The service was outstanding. Everyone made us feel welcome from the Maitre d' to the waitress to the other servers. The restaurant itself is has a great atmosphere with a high ceiling and beautiful views of the sound. The food was outstanding. We had a selection of oysters, crab soup, a filet, and grouper. Everything was great. I would highly recommend.

Service was terrible. We sat at the table for quite awhile before someone filled our water glasses. The waitress was not knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes (I am allergic to cow's milk products) or the wine. Her response to everything that was ordered was "Good Choice." I ordered a bottle of wine. After a long time waiting for the wine the waitress informed me that "The Som" would be serving the wine. We were offered 1 piece of bread each. After I finished the piece of break the waitress scooped up my bread plate as she walked by the table. I was never offered a second piece. My wife had the Mediterranean Caesar Salad. IT was served with blue cheese dressing that had the consistency of store bought dressing. I had the Creole Baked Oysters. They were delicious and the presentation was very nice. The oysters were served on a bed of sea slat and pepper corns. The only issue was that if any part of the baked oyster touched the plate , I ended up with a mouth full of salt and pepper. The grouper was delicious and well prepared. Don't waste your time. There are better restaurants with a view of the sound in Duck.

I found the service to be very slow. To be fair, we dined during the off season. The restaurant was close to capacity with an appropriate number of staff on hand but it still took too long for dinner. Food was great.

Service was less than impressive on our visit this year. We vacation at OBX at twice per year and request our favorite eateries and coffee houses every time. We have gotten to know coffee house and restaurant owners and have always provided rave reviews for their establishments. We love locally owned places. Our visits to Kimballs in the past week filled with anticipation on returning on our next visit. This time our waitress was rude, end of story. If you would like more info regarding this, please call or email me.

The restaurant itself is quite beautiful and has a good reputation for its beautiful sunset view. The food was perfectly prepared, and of course visually stunning. My only negative comment, and it's not terribly negative, was that I thought their wine list by the glass was limited. I was dining alone so I didn't have many choices as to what I wanted.

And the sunset that we enjoyed next to the window seat was amazing that evening . We never felt rushed and lingered over s long and enjoyable dinner. Would highly recommend this place as a special occasion restaurant .

I dine at Kimball's once a year when I visit The Sanderling Resort for our summer beach visit from VA and am never disappointed. I really enjoyed the new lobster pasta dish. Our server was very charming and attentive. We were fortunate to get there in time to see the sunset. It was a lovely evening.

View of the sound is beautiful and watching the sun set at dinner is almost worth the price of the meal. Menu is priced above most other restaurants in area and, while food is very good, do not think it is better than many other places. Service starts out good and then staff seems to ignore water glasses, dirty dishes, offering bread. A little disappointing when you are there entertaining special guests for special occasions and expecting exemplary food and service.

We dined here in August of 2017.
The view is great with a perfect sunset.
We had a fabulous dinner, but the star of the dinner was the fish dinners. We split the Bison Tartar which is extremely strong and gamey (not that it was bad). The portion was tremendous. The Heirloom Tomato and Watermelon was very good and fresh ingredients.
The Local Line Caught Grilled Swordfish is spectacular and we also had a fish special which was a white fish in a red wine sauce and this dish was the rock star of the night.
We split the Carmelized Brussels Sprouts which were good not great, a little soft and no crisp or crunch.
The last dish we had was the Veal Porterhouse Chop. The chop was cooked perfect medium rare. The veal was missing some flavor, it was just plain, but a nice looking veal chop.
The desserts were not very impressive so we passed on them and got ice cream in Duck.
Wine prices are about 2x the cost, lower than Dc and New York but pretty high for this area.
Look around the list and you will find a good bottle at a fair price.

We will go back.
Service was perfect.

Me, wife and daughter out for dinner. We ordered Smoked Oyster and She Crab Soup, Caesar Salad, Heirloom Tomato and Watermelon Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, Lobster Mafalda, off menu Mushroom Mafalda, and seared Wanchese Scallops, all to share. Had a couple drinks as well. We were very pleased with all the food and drink and the service was top notch. Great view, looking out at the sound.

My reservation was for 7:30pm to enjoy the sunset while we ate. We were there at 7:30, but our table by the window to see the sunset was not ready until 8:00pm, and the sunset was gone. The restaurant made our reservation useless. Food followed the same pattern. I ordered a filet rare, and it came out close to medium. The evening was topped off by being overcharged $30 for a bottle of wine. The restaurant did correct the overcharge. I would not recommend this restaurant. We found two other restaurants with better views, better food, and better service.

Terrible service throughout the meal. Slow to get to ordering or drinks or waiting for table to be cleared when we were finished, pouring our own wine throughout. Food came out quickly, too quickly based on service. For such an expensive restaurant a real disappointment.
