There were multiple red flags here:
1) The staff was over friendly. They were not watching their language, and not being accurate with the information they provide to us, the customers.
2) We had ordered a Bruschetta, and ended up getting a different item without the staff informing this change to us. Afterwards the staff, obnoxiously said that it's past tomato season so they don't have it (after delivering us different food)
3) During this time, the entire place was open, so it was extremely cold inside
4) When we wanted to move to a different table, the staff responded 'yeah sure' without even moving anything off of our table. We had to move everything ourselves.
5) The staff has said the law is requiring a food plate per person, so everyone at the table needs to order something. This is not accurate, as any other restaurant only requires one plate per table.
Overall it was a very unpleasant experience. I definitely do not recommend this place.
Food and service were amazing. Wine selection is great and I loved the variety of the menu and the number of vegetariAn options
Terrible experience - it was three of us and we had to wait forever for the food; the three of us also didn’t get our courses at the same time...
I LOVE Kilo. There aren’t a lot of places I go back to repeatedly but I go back there again and again. And I take friends. The food is always spectacular and the wine and service are amazing. Kilo rocks!
Hidden gem. Awesome food. Wonderful service
Amazing staff, great food- Burger and Brussels sprouts are a must have!
We met our kids and one of our son’s friends for a meal prior to a Saturday show. The space is quirky but cozy with open brick and roughened wood tables. It is a small, shotgun shaped space with bar in the front and kitchen in the back. You would literally walk right past it the front signage is so understated. We were celebrating birthdays and had a series of great and interesting natural wines, including a sparkling, that were skillfully selected by out tattooed and t-shirted sommelier. Definitely don’t judge a book by its cover here! The food was quite tasty and varied. Loved the mushroom tacos (vegan), mussels, burger as mains; and fries, brussels, hummus and great bread as starters. We have added another gem to our Hell’s Kitchen/ midtown favorites. Highly recommend!
Absolutely excellent food. Could not have asked for better flavor or more interesting and inspiring pairings. It also came out very quickly and was served at a great temperature. Enjoyed the wine and IPA as well. Great service, great food. Will be returning.
Love this place
Very good food. Not family friendly but definitely ideal for people without kids. The food is quite unique, tasty and healthy. I would go back without my kids! The music is a bit too loud for me but I am sure it’s not a problem for most people
LJ is amazing
Smallish casual tapas place in midtown west. The service was excellent; the owner/server was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the wine selection. The mushroom tacos were fabulous. I would happily return.
I've eaten at kilo a dozen times and it's always a delight. Come for the natural wine, but stay for the excellent shareable plates. Easily one of the best places to eat in Hell's Kitchen.
Beloved Hell’s Kitchen spot for contemporary tapas and well-curated wines. Perfect for pre-concert dinner at Jazz at Lincoln Center in Columbus Circle.
Fantastic as always! The staff is always so attentive, and makes excellent recommendations on the wine from the great list. And the food never disappoints either!
Go. order the brussels sprouts and finish it off with the best burger in nyc
Leave here happy every time, favorite wine bar in the city .. intimate spot with an always changing, unique and quite good wine list. Food also delicious
The tag team for service was fabulous. I left without even knowing their names, but were very attentive and listened to our likes and dietary needs and were always on point with wine choices.
These guys always do such a good job! Great wine recommendations matched to our meals.
Very small intimate surroundings with multiple small varied and tasty plates and good atypical wine list. Friendly staff and good not overly loud background music.
We loved everything about this restaurant! We sat at a table for three by the window. Service was exceptional with great wine and beer selections. Our server helped us choose between a few of our top food choices and we were all pleased with the menu! We will return!!
Been to Kilo a few times. It has a nice intimate set up. The staff is knowlegeable, freindly and enjoy taking care of their patrons. The food is terrific and portions are just right.
Small, intimate space, very cool vibe. Friendly service, quick and efficient. Good food simply presented and well prepared. Tapas type meanu, fair prices. Good casual place to have a date, or grab a drink and little bites.
Food was uninteresting and the only discernible flavor was cumin. The prices were high especially considering the poor quality. Wine selection was interesting but again overpriced considering the quality. The waiter was attentive and the service was good.
Our waiter made a great restaurant even better. He was so amazing and funny and just incredibly cool. They had an amazing music playlist and the waitstaff were enjoying it as much as we were. Quaint environment with a lively crew mad for the perfect balance on my date! Will definitely go back. Great wine and beer selection!
Brett and co have a fantastic setup, can’t wait to come back!
LJ was amazing and hospitable!!!
Kilo is going strong since many years, hopefully it will stay on. Our go to place in Hells Kitchen. Excellent food great wines and attentive service un a cozy but cool setting. What more can you ask for.
Wonderful neighborhood place with an excellent selection of wines.
Terrific wine bar with superb food. Interesting off beat natural wines, a number by the glass. Some are oddball even eccentric not to everyone’s taste and some more mainstream. However the fun is sampling (staff will let you have a taste before settling on a glass) and finding those you like.
The food is interesting well executed small, medium and larger plates, excellent fresh ingredients and very flavorful, great combinations —tapas-like. Perfect for sharing.
The staff is friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable.
High noise and energy level but comfortable once you settle in.
Perfect for a first date.
Dining alone at the bar.
Really most any situation.
Only warning is so much fun and such good food you can easily lose track of your spending!
Kilo will definitely go on my must return to list. I highly recommend this restaurant. Even my hard to please husband loved it. Service was perfect, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Food came quickly, presentation great and taste superb. Wine selection was vast and well priced. Dessert was just the right size and great tasting. Love the decor and cozy atmosphere. Reminded me of one of my favorite Tapas bars in El Born district in Barcelona.
AMAZING wine selection. Ordered a bottle of bordeaux and it was better than the bordeaux I've had in France. Food was also superb. Ambience was great and noise level, amazing. I did not have to scream or strain my ears to hear. Highly recommended for a date/catch-up!
This is a very cool, comfortable and small place. Very limited seating so reserve ahead. The menu is short but imaginative. We had some delicious roasted cauliflower that you dappled in an excellent spicy sauce. The hamburger was cooked as ordered and extremely satisfying, if somewhat small. Fries (a separate side) were good but not remarkable. They came with a minuscule amount of spiced up aioli on the side.
Whoever chooses the wines knows what they’re doing. The list isn’t long, (no need if it’s a good list) but has some extraordinarily interesting and less known producers and varietals. Holds true for red, white and sparkling.
But there’s one BIG problem: The pours are very skimpy for the $15 and upward by-the-glass prices. If each in your party has a couple, plus food, the check is going to be really high. Higher than the restaurant can justify. Bottle prices seemed pretty fair. Friendly, responsive service. Very noisy if crowded.
Excellent food service atmosphere
Seriously excellent tapas and mains. The beets and broccoli rabe were delicious. The hummus bowel - with cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, and greens was lush to the tongue and perfect with crusty Italian bread. Yes, the mushroom tacos are simply out of the world good. What's in that brown sauce?! The whole branzino may well have been the best I have ever had - the skin was perfectly crispy and the "meat" perfectly tender and tasty. My partner was pleased with his burger. Desserts (phyllo apple pie and gelato) topped off a delightful meal. Service was attentive and friendly. I cannot wait to return.
It was my favourite place in NY. Great service. Amazing food. I’m definitely coming back again!
Excellent Austrian wines
Inventive dishes, fantastic food. Quiet dining room, almost too dark to read the menu. Great ordering system, as the waiter used a tablet to take orders, with the kitchen seeing the items needed instantly.
Cute little place with great wine and wonderful food. This is a true hidden gem!
Excellent choices of small plates....many vegetarian options, great spice and sauce combinations. Wine list has hard to find unusual varietals that are superb; bar tender/wine consultant makes excellent recommendations to pair with one's dishes as many wines are by the glass. Small intimate feel to the restaurant
