AMAZING wine selection. Ordered a bottle of bordeaux and it was better than the bordeaux I've had in France. Food was also superb. Ambience was great and noise level, amazing. I did not have to scream or strain my ears to hear. Highly recommended for a date/catch-up!
This is a very cool, comfortable and small place. Very limited seating so reserve ahead. The menu is short but imaginative. We had some delicious roasted cauliflower that you dappled in an excellent spicy sauce. The hamburger was cooked as ordered and extremely satisfying, if somewhat small. Fries (a separate side) were good but not remarkable. They came with a minuscule amount of spiced up aioli on the side.
Whoever chooses the wines knows what they’re doing. The list isn’t long, (no need if it’s a good list) but has some extraordinarily interesting and less known producers and varietals. Holds true for red, white and sparkling.
But there’s one BIG problem: The pours are very skimpy for the $15 and upward by-the-glass prices. If each in your party has a couple, plus food, the check is going to be really high. Higher than the restaurant can justify. Bottle prices seemed pretty fair. Friendly, responsive service. Very noisy if crowded.
Excellent food service atmosphere
Seriously excellent tapas and mains. The beets and broccoli rabe were delicious. The hummus bowel - with cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, and greens was lush to the tongue and perfect with crusty Italian bread. Yes, the mushroom tacos are simply out of the world good. What's in that brown sauce?! The whole branzino may well have been the best I have ever had - the skin was perfectly crispy and the "meat" perfectly tender and tasty. My partner was pleased with his burger. Desserts (phyllo apple pie and gelato) topped off a delightful meal. Service was attentive and friendly. I cannot wait to return.
It was my favourite place in NY. Great service. Amazing food. I’m definitely coming back again!
Inventive dishes, fantastic food. Quiet dining room, almost too dark to read the menu. Great ordering system, as the waiter used a tablet to take orders, with the kitchen seeing the items needed instantly.
Cute little place with great wine and wonderful food. This is a true hidden gem!
Excellent choices of small plates....many vegetarian options, great spice and sauce combinations. Wine list has hard to find unusual varietals that are superb; bar tender/wine consultant makes excellent recommendations to pair with one's dishes as many wines are by the glass. Small intimate feel to the restaurant
Intimate wine and taas bar. Delicious food with great veggie selection. The staff really know their wines and are super committed to marching diner's tastes. Parties of more than 2 will be seated at the communal table.
Similar to other reviews (disappointed that I didn’t heed their advice) food was delicious but overpriced. Service was the issue, he was very friendly and we figured he was trying to be funny(?) but came across rude and obnoxious. Also if you take such pride in your wine offering and charge $19 for a single glass of wine, please provide a new fresh glass when someone places a different drink order. Wasn’t ideal trying a glass of rosé with the dredges/remnants of the previous wine sitting in the bottom of the glass.
For a date night, Kilo was an excellent choice. It was our second time for a Kilo experience. Four plates - all superb along with a perfect match with the wine.
Sweet place but whitefish salad seemed straight from Fairway, hardly a dinner dish.
Had a wonderful dinner here after seeing an opera at the Met. Small plates but every single one of them was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. The wine that we had complemented our choices perfectly. The service was wonderful and the dessert at the end was delightful. Would definitely visit again!!
Food was great. Service was great. I think we had the best table by the outside window which was open otherwise it may have been loud and crowded. Would go back. Love tapas.
Lovely food and great service would recommended for dinner with friends or date night
everything was delicious! and easy for a vegetarian too. great wine. and sweet service.
The mushroom tacos are the best! And the service is awesome!
Tiny place with unique offerings and very fun and knowledgeable owners.
Kilo offered fantastic service. Amazing food. We asked the server to decide for us what to eat and drink ... it was perfect!! Can’t wait to come back here.
Food is fine, but the room is totally no-fun. It is basically a cramped corridor with some ungracious seating crammed in there. Extremely ungracious. If you are a single, furthermore, you won't even get a table but will have to sit at the bar, even though you've made a reservation. Sorry folks, one of the main reasons for going out to a restaurant is that the atmosphere ought to be uplifting/cheery/gracious, etc. etc. If you don't get that, you may as well pop a frozen meal into your oven. While the food is okay, it's not anywhere near so great as to make it worthwhile to go to an unpleasant hole-in-the wall. And it of course a full service hole-in-the-wall, so it's not like you're eating $5 tacos at a Mexican quick-food hole-in-the-wall. The economics don't add up: it's not a good deal to pay full-service restaurant prices, when the place is just no fun.
Very pleasant atmosphere and great food and wine. We had the nice table right next to the open canopy to the streets.
Wonderful midtown gem! The food and wine were fabulous and atmosphere is perfection.
It works even on the same day.
Kilo always delivers outstanding food and wine. Kudos to the wonderful Chef, LJ's amazing wine selections and Jake's awesome service.
This place is so charming and has great music and overall vibe. I thought the food would be better given the reviews. It was tasty but I wasn't wowed. Chips with the whitefish were not soft, not crispy. Asparagus did not taste very special to me. Mussels were probably the best dish we ordered. I would go again however due to overall factors and wanting to give it a second try.
Amazing, one of my favorites in this neighborhood. Incredible, interesting wine selection, super helpful and engaging staff to help suggest glasses to try, and the tapas are always delicious to match.
This is possibly the best restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. My husband and I go every few weeks and we've never had a dish that isn't absolutely incredible. The menu changes daily so everything is fresh and innovative. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area.
Quick, laid back ambiance, tasty food, simple and great spot to relax and have an easy going dining experience.
Would go back!
Decided to try this place out after searching for somewhere new to eat in the neighborhood. After many amazing reviews and photos we decided to just give it a go! Best decision ever. I’d recommend doing two or three small plates and then splitting a large plate if it’s two people going.
They’re always just so gracious here. Fantastic suggestions on pairings from their extensive wine list. It’s in rotation as one of our regular places.
Everything was absolutely above bar. It was an extremely enjoyable experience. I felt taken care of and the food was delicious. Also, and this is rarely said, the food portions were perfect.
Food was so delicious and seasonally-appropriate. Wine is superb, especially since most of them are organic/biodynamic! The people who work there are fun and always play excellent music!
Fabulous wine bar with a great seasonal selection. Tapas are good, but could be amazing. Excellent service and great environment.
Fantastic experience, every time.
Absolutely love their burger and Brussel sprouts. Also like how they give you wine recommendations per your taste.
Excellent dining experience. Loved the wine recommendations, and had probably my favorite burger in NYC. Will definitely return!
Kilo is great fun. A well-curated wine list served by ebullient servers. The food is a bit of an afterthought but it's still a great place to hang out.
This is such a great place tucked away on 9th avenue with really tasty, flavorful plates. Servers are knowledgeable and personable. Also definitely a wine place as well to pair with your tasty plates!
We ate here early before the theater. Restaurant is small and charming. Noise factor was low, which is a plus for anyone trying to have a conversation. The best part was the food -- the burger was perhaps one of the best I've ever had, the cauliflower was perfect and the pork tacos also delicious.
Highly recommend this place, can't wait to come back!
The food is delicious and comes out quickly! It’s an easy place to go before seeing a show- just make sure you have reservation. The baked brie is a must order; don’t just save it for dessert!
