Killen's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Service was very great, our server knew the menu and had a answer for every question I asked. The food was great and was very happy we didn't have a long wait for the food. This was my second time to eat at killen's and I do highly recommend to friends and co workers. thank you so mush for a very satisfying experience.
Our server, Chris, did a great job of explaining the menu and recommending options. He was very pleasant and the staff is very attentive. Fantastic steak reviews by the Houston Chronicle brought us to the original location initially. We hesitated to recommend it to others because it was such a cramped hole in the wall place. The new location is beautiful. Worth the one hour drive for us and happy to recommend to others now. Fantastic food as always. The only negative is the new location has a wide open dining room. More ceiling insulation is needed if you are to have private conversation for romantic dinners.
This was my first and my very last time I will ever go to a killins steak house the especially on Valentine’s Day the food was tasted ransid I asked 6 times to fill my glass of tea and the waiter didn’t do it the appetizer was ransid with that orange sauce they put on it and the asparagus was hard and raw then the sides of macaroni tasted burnt needless to say after not appreciating the inuindo of our waiter and spending over $300 for the sorest dinner of our life I will never be back nor will I recommend this restraunt to any of my friends or clients.
After living in Pearland almost 4 years, we finally were able to hit Killen's Steak House. We had always heard the food was outstanding, and took the occasion of Valentine's day to find out. The menu choices for Valentines Day included the most popular items, from appetizers through dessert. Each course was perfectly sized and very fresh. The steaks we enjoyed were prepared to our liking and exceeded our high expectations for flavor and quality. I was especially impressed with the creamed corn. Incredible stuff! Then to top it off, Crème Brulee Bread Pudding.......I don't normally like bread pudding, but heard it was the best. Again, exceeded expectations! A definite do-again! Thanks, Ronnie!
Ordered srf bone in rib eye, medium. Steak came out well done with excessive amount of dry rub burnt into a crust. Lobster Rockefeller was dry and salty. Crab cake was prepared well and presentation was excellent. Garlic mashed potatoes were very good. Girlfriend enjoyed her mojito. Service was best I've ever seen. Server was knowledgeable, just the right amount of attentiveness.
Food was very good the servies was not that great took a while for any one to check on us and then we put in drink orders to not see them again for awhile this happen through out the whole meal even changed servers at the end witch was wierd and still no better.
My husband I were celebrating Valentines Day. We enjoyed every bit of it other than the augratin potatoes were still very hard they were not cooked. My husband did not want to complain and neither did I so as soon as we paid the bill, I let the server know. Other than that everything was good.
Overall experience was excellent. The food and service were exceptional. The noise level prevented intimate conversation. It is very pricey, but I knew that going in. Lowering the noise level would have raised the overall experience to exceptional! I am glad we went and will go again.
The waiter was amazing! My husband thought his steak was a bit chewy..but he did eat it anyway. They were great and didn't even charge him for his steak! We totally offered to pay for it especially since he ate it. It was a great treat for his birthday. Thanks so much...we will be back.
We had a wonderful time and the meal was certainly 1st class.
The staff and service was of the highest quality and promptness.
We looked over the website before we made our reservation, but I still felt it necessary to mark "poor on value," only because, although the food was excellent, there are restaurants in the Houston area with the same delicious food for a much lower price.
Our waiter had only been on the job three weeks and submitted our food order incorrectly - we received sirloin instead of ribeye. It was corrected and the steak was cooked correctly - flavor was lacking. I realize Killen's steaks do not come with any sides, but the presentation of a steak on a plate by itself looks poor. The scallop appetizer was good. The recommended cream corn was too sweet. The temp on the mushrooms was too cool. The wine we selected was out of stock - the Som did help selecting an alternative. The bread pudding dessert was below average. For a Thursday night, the restaurant was loud. In the end, $500 for three people with very average food was less than satisfying.
Killen's Steakhouse never disappoints! Their high quality menu is consistently spectacular and always leaves you craving for more. I moved away from the area some time ago, but it was great to know that they haven't changed a bit. Everything from the seafood to the steaks to the desserts will exceed your expectations. I highly recommend Killen's if you're ever in Pearland and looking for a great dining experience.
Food Portions are wayyy too small for what you're paying for. Ive dined at similar top end steak houses across the country and by far for the money youre paying you are definitely shorted on food portions.
Bread was consistently cold and hard, even after we requested servings of warmer bread.
We ordered both a wet-aged and dry-aged ribeye to compare. My husband and I both preferred the wet-aged, but both were outstanding. We had roasted brussel sprouts and skillet potatoes as sides, both delicious. For dessert, we had the carrot cake, which was divine. Or waited was Rich, and he was wonderful - super friendly and helpful with suggestions, but he gave us space while we enjoyed our meal.
