We were excited to finally be able to visit the new Killen's location. We were surprised that the inside still reminded us of the old Mexican restaurant that was previously at the location. We were seated quickly at a table for 5, which was close to the kitchen. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The person serving water was very enthusiastic before dinner and never let our glasses go less than 3/4 full. Since two of us were blocked in, he leaned in front of us about every 2 minutes, and still spilled water on the table. After we received entrees, however, he never stopped by again. We ordered the Korean beef skewers as an appetizer, which was ok. One of our party ordered French onion soup, which was delicious. The rest of us ordered the hearts of romaine salad, which was wilted and bland and poorly dressed. The steaks were very good, as was the pork chop. Obviously, this is where they put their concentration. However, we all expected great food from beginning to end, and just felt let down. The chicken fried steak and sides were too salty. The mashed potatoes were cold. Desserts were imaginative, but not spectacular. The restaurant, was very noisy. For the price and ambiance, Perry's Steakhouse in Friendswood and Ruth's Chris in Houston remain our favorite restaurants overall. We will probably not visit Killen's again.
Was quite disappointed. I love seafood and the sauce on the snapper tasted like a salty soup poured from a can. My husband's steak was overcooked for the way he ordered it. However, it fit mine. Bread and garlic mashed potatoes were awesome. Noise level was loud and difficult to carry on a conversation. They were busy and wait staff was moving continuously back and forth by our table, so the environment was not peaceful.
Killen’s is not inexpensive, but is well worth the money. The food is always exceptional and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it.
Superb as always! We had a group of 8 celebrating my husband's birthday. Had great wine recommendation from our waiter, Jeremy. The evening couldn't have been more perfect!
It was my wife's birthday and the staff made it special. Amazing dry aged steak!
Service was very great, our server knew the menu and had a answer for every question I asked. The food was great and was very happy we didn't have a long wait for the food. This was my second time to eat at killen's and I do highly recommend to friends and co workers. thank you so mush for a very satisfying experience.
Our server, Chris, did a great job of explaining the menu and recommending options. He was very pleasant and the staff is very attentive. Fantastic steak reviews by the Houston Chronicle brought us to the original location initially. We hesitated to recommend it to others because it was such a cramped hole in the wall place. The new location is beautiful. Worth the one hour drive for us and happy to recommend to others now. Fantastic food as always. The only negative is the new location has a wide open dining room. More ceiling insulation is needed if you are to have private conversation for romantic dinners.
As always, great food and great service! Since it was the day after Valentine's Day, it was very busy and therefore a little noisy, but we still enjoyed a delicious meal!
The steak is not the quality that I remember before they moved to the new location . I had a great steak at the old location. The steak I had there on Thursday was not what I had before.
Seated in the wine cellar next to a very loud party of 6. Not the quiet dinner I was looking for. Prior seatings have been in the open dining room and far more enjoyable.
It's lives up to the great reputation. The service and food was great.
We dined for Valentines Day. Great experience from start to finish. Excellent selection of wine beer and soft drinks.
Best steak and carrot cake I’ve EVER had. Oren our waiter was super personable and great all
Keeps getting better . Love this place
This was magnificent.
I highly recommend this fine dining to anyone seeking an amazing steak dinner.
This was my first and my very last time I will ever go to a killins steak house the especially on Valentine’s Day the food was tasted ransid I asked 6 times to fill my glass of tea and the waiter didn’t do it the appetizer was ransid with that orange sauce they put on it and the asparagus was hard and raw then the sides of macaroni tasted burnt needless to say after not appreciating the inuindo of our waiter and spending over $300 for the sorest dinner of our life I will never be back nor will I recommend this restraunt to any of my friends or clients.
Great meal and great service
After living in Pearland almost 4 years, we finally were able to hit Killen's Steak House. We had always heard the food was outstanding, and took the occasion of Valentine's day to find out. The menu choices for Valentines Day included the most popular items, from appetizers through dessert. Each course was perfectly sized and very fresh. The steaks we enjoyed were prepared to our liking and exceeded our high expectations for flavor and quality. I was especially impressed with the creamed corn. Incredible stuff! Then to top it off, Crème Brulee Bread Pudding.......I don't normally like bread pudding, but heard it was the best. Again, exceeded expectations! A definite do-again! Thanks, Ronnie!
Great place to share your date at. Friendly atmosphere and great food. Thanks
Killen's is the place for prime steaks in the Houston area. Without question, this is where you go to get exceptional cuts of meat and creative side dishes for that very special occasion.
One our favorite steaks ever! Went to the old location 10 years ago for our first date & still one of our favorite places to go! The ambiance is completely different from the old location but the quality of service and food remain outstanding!
Fantastic food with fantastic service steaks are amazing at every level for every pocketbook.
Ordered srf bone in rib eye, medium. Steak came out well done with excessive amount of dry rub burnt into a crust. Lobster Rockefeller was dry and salty. Crab cake was prepared well and presentation was excellent. Garlic mashed potatoes were very good. Girlfriend enjoyed her mojito. Service was best I've ever seen. Server was knowledgeable, just the right amount of attentiveness.
This place is a stone cold killer. Service, drinks, atmosphere, and of course.......THE FOOD...Perfect.
Everything tasted amazing; service was top notch.
We have had dinner at both their previous and the newer location. Each trip has resulted in a great dining experience.
Food was excellent as well as the service. My wife and I really enjoyed our meals.
Food was very good the servies was not that great took a while for any one to check on us and then we put in drink orders to not see them again for awhile this happen through out the whole meal even changed servers at the end witch was wierd and still no better.
My husband I were celebrating Valentines Day. We enjoyed every bit of it other than the augratin potatoes were still very hard they were not cooked. My husband did not want to complain and neither did I so as soon as we paid the bill, I let the server know. Other than that everything was good.
I was worried about bringing my 6 y/o son to a nice steakhouse for dinner w/ friends, but we were reassured that he would be fine & that kids are welcome to come , & thankfully, it was. There were a few other children in the restaurant as well, & all were well behaved. Our waiter, Marc, was fantastic, & even took my son in to the kitchen for a tour, which he loved. The steak & snapper were amazing! We are looking forward to coming back.
Best steakhouse ever. Never had a bad experience never had bad service or bad food. It’s honestly hard to finish your food because EVERYTHING is so good. Our servers are always the best as well
Overall experience was excellent. The food and service were exceptional. The noise level prevented intimate conversation. It is very pricey, but I knew that going in. Lowering the noise level would have raised the overall experience to exceptional! I am glad we went and will go again.
The waiter was amazing! My husband thought his steak was a bit chewy..but he did eat it anyway. They were great and didn't even charge him for his steak! We totally offered to pay for it especially since he ate it. It was a great treat for his birthday. Thanks so much...we will be back.
Ask for Larry or James. Their service is A+. Costumer service is their priority. Food, drinks and service were great.
We had a wonderful time and the meal was certainly 1st class.
The staff and service was of the highest quality and promptness.
We looked over the website before we made our reservation, but I still felt it necessary to mark "poor on value," only because, although the food was excellent, there are restaurants in the Houston area with the same delicious food for a much lower price.
Our waiter had only been on the job three weeks and submitted our food order incorrectly - we received sirloin instead of ribeye. It was corrected and the steak was cooked correctly - flavor was lacking. I realize Killen's steaks do not come with any sides, but the presentation of a steak on a plate by itself looks poor. The scallop appetizer was good. The recommended cream corn was too sweet. The temp on the mushrooms was too cool. The wine we selected was out of stock - the Som did help selecting an alternative. The bread pudding dessert was below average. For a Thursday night, the restaurant was loud. In the end, $500 for three people with very average food was less than satisfying.
The food is outstanding. Steaks and seafood are our favorites and any of the appetizers and sides go perfectly.
Elegant casual dining at its best.
Amazing food! The Japanese wagyu really is all that!
