Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere.

Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game... antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

Only dinner reservations can be made on Open Tables.

The lilikoi margaritas are the best on the island! My husband had the Safari Schnitzel and I had the lobster tails. Both were excellent! This is one of our Very Favorite places to eat! Worth the drive to Volcano.

We had an amazing meal! Everything that we had was fantastic - it ranged from the rabbit special to a fish pasta and none of us were disappointed by our meal. The service was wonderful, it was a very cozy and quaint atmosphere and a very enjoyable experience overall. We would definitely come back.

We stayed on the Kona side of the island and made a special trip to Volcano/Hilo so we could have dinner here! We first ate at the restaurant 4 years ago and visited it twice during our one week’s stay. Worth the drive!

Quite the enjoyable restaurant. Took my girlfriend here for dinner before I proposed that night and had no disappointments at all, altogether it rounded up the night well and I dont think there's anywhere else I'd would've rather had a nice meal before such a big moment

Everything was wonderful, as usual. Debbie (our server) could not have been any better and treated us so well. We've been coming here for over 15 years and every time is always great. Sheri (another server) always takes time to stop by our table to say hello. The staff is EXCELLENT and the food is always delicious. GREAT PLACE to eat and enjoy an evening by the fireplace.

Service and ambience were excellent. Food was mostly uninspired. My steak was cooked as ordered—medium rare—but was tasteless and seemed a low quality. My husband's rabbit was good. But overall, not a good value for what they charge.

We had the most foul shrimp risotto (tasted like bile) and ordered the lamb chops that came out to be medium rare when we specifically asked for it to be well done. This experience was so awful. Would never recommend them to anyone and will be sure to warn family and friends never to come here when dining in Volcano.

First trip to the volcanoes and Kilauea did not disappoint! Our stay at the Kilauea Lodge was cozy and peaceful. The excellent accommodation was topped off by this evening meal which without a doubt one of the most delicious we have ever had! French cuisine at its best: beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients brought to the table hot..just WOW!

A truly great meal while overlooking the glow of the volcano. Service was attentive and helpful. The food was plentiful and delicious, especially the kampachi. Highly recommend booking a table a half hour before sunset for the best viewing.

stayed at lodge and had dinner here for our 1 day in Volcano Village to see volcano/national park. noted it was our anniversary in reservation and they had nice surprise for us on the menu and balloon on the table. food was fantastic and generous portions. Our server was just ok - didn't come by much. Also asked about German food on the menu, and he said they only had on certain nights, so we couldn't order. Table next to us got it, so not sure why we couldn't order?
Loved the ambience and big fireplace. Soup and dinner were fantastic; dessert mediocre. Overall very good.

We stayed at Kilauea Lodge for one night while visiting Hawaii Volcano National Park (high point of our 6 days on the Big Island). We had both dinner and breakfast at the Restaurant and both were excellent. Kilauea was one of the two best restaurants we ate in while in Hawaii.
A number of the dinner entrees were special, either in terms of the meat or preparation. One of us had the rabbit in wine sauce and the other had rack of lamb. Both were excellent. Breakfast was also very good - one of us had an omelette and the other had French toast using different breads
Service was excellent and staff in restaurant and lodge were very friendly.

We came here for our 30th wedding anniversary. They had balloons at the table for us and give you a menu with your name/occasion printed on it, they also take an instant picture if you like. The food was very good and the portions were perfect.

I love this restaurant and always dine there during my visits to Volcano. I was celebrating my birthday and they made me feel special with birthday wishes on the menu, balloons at the table and a song with dessert.
The antelope schnitzel was fabulous, as was the Ono that my partner had.

Despite reservations on open table and a personal call asking for a table near the fireplace, we were given the table in the back corner next to the outside door and next to the kitchen. Only two other tables were occupied.

The little ambience we enjoyed, was definitely spoiled by the huge foreign tour group and the smaller tour group which came in while we were dining.

The waitstaff was helpful and very attentive and we enjoyed our food and drinks.

If you can make time during your visit to the Volcano this is an exceptional place. If you're staying overnight it's definitely a wonderful choice for a really good meal. Eat there and then drive over to the crater to see it glow - we did and that was a magical evening.

For the last seven years we have escaped mainland winter by spending part of it on the Big Island. Kilauea Lodge has always been a favorite and our last visit Valentines Day for dinner was no exception. Food was outstanding and believe our server Debbie gave the best service we have ever received here! There were two seafood specials on the menu that night and my wife and I ordered one of each. They were spectacular! I would highly recommend dinner or lunch here!

My only suggestion to the Lodge, is keep the gift shop open later. You have some very nice things in there. I was going to buy my wife a necklace she saw before dinner, but the shop was closed before we finished dinner. Your hostess said that they couldn't sell anything from the shop once it closed. Too bad, you lost a nice sale!

Food was not up to normal expectations. Alsatian soup and Lobster salad were both excellent, however entrees (Prawns and Risotto, the Prawns were great, the Risotto seemed just like a scoop of rice), the Pauettes of Beef was kind of like shaved beef, stuffed then deep fried, not a fan). The veggies were flavorless and overdone.
Server was above par, Excellent!

Food was very good! Our server was having an issue with another table, it definitely impacted her interactions with us. There was a local wine on the menu that she let me try and was very good. They opened two bottles and were not happy with the clarity of the wine, so I had to choose something different, very disappointing because the taste I had was very good!

The fireplace didn't have a fire. It would add so much. I came to Kilauea Lodge for dinner for the first time on a chilly, rainy, February, Saturday evening. It would have been really nice to have had a fire. Everything else was delightful and we had a great time. I'm sure we'll be back.
