Guest on Father's Day A disaster, glad their operations taken over by St Kate
This restaurant no longer exists. It has been replaced by Aria at the Saint Kate Arts Hotel, which does not, so far, measure up to the ambiance and food preparation/presentation of Kil@Wat.
This location no longer exists. The whole hotel has been revamped and the restaurants that were in the Intercontinental Hotel are gone. The new hotel is the Saint Kate - Arts Hotel.
Used to be a great spot, but since the redsign not pleasent. Will no longer go there with the way it is set up.
We ate here for the first time before we went to an 8:00 show in the theatre district on Saturday 1/5/19. It was close by, awesome food and bottle of wine in a fun atmosphere. The staff were informative and very prompt in taking our order, so we were able to relax and enjoy our meal before the show. We loved the bacon wrapped dates, flank dinner and rib dinners we ordered.
Ambiance was wonderful! Our server was on point. Food was wonderful except for my father in laws steak was over cooked which was disappointing considering the price and it being NYE. Besides that, everything was very satisfying.
The service was good but no one asked how I wanted my steak. I got a very tough and dry tenderloin.
They only had a prefix menu, the potatoes were cold, the food arrived too fast for it not to have been just warmed and brought out. Also no indication this is actually inside the hotel. It lacked atmosphere and the service was slow even though there were only 4 other tables and 3 servers our waiter was no where to be found when we needed him. Way to many other great restaurants in Milwaukee give this one a pass.
The food wasn’t super creative but was well executed, a pretty good value and tasty. The only disappointment was an espresso I had with a delicious creme brule.
Food was not cooked right and was small portions. Not worth the price.
Great service and wonderful brunch buffet.
I have been going to Kilawat on Christmas eve for several years with great dining experiences. But tonight, they were not on top of their game. The waitress kept apologizing to customers for mistakes in the kitchen. I ordered a steak, but 20-30 min later, was told they ran out of steak. The kitchen was able to sub a different cut if beef, but it was undercooked. Dessert and cofee were comp’d, but it didn’t compensate for a spoiled and cherished Christmas tradition.
The food was very good and a good value. However, the menu that we saw online when we made the reservation was vastly dofferwmt than the menu that day. We were told that the menu was condensed because the restaurant will be closing soon for renovations. We were disappointed by that, but the food that was available was very good.
This was my first time dining here and I brought my grandmother from Michigan to see the theater. It was the perfect place to start our day together and the food and service was GREAT!
Could really use some additional food choices that includes basic items, i.e. tenderloin, shrimp, etc. Not enough food choices.
Went for a business lunch and menu was limited to two mediocre entrees. Apparently there is a change pending and they cut back on the menu. Would be better to know this prior to booking. Cool spot though.
Our server didnt attend to is at all to the point where we grabbed a different server....myself and my wife both work and worked in the industry. That being said it was highly ridiculous that we were ignored. I would not recommend or return unless managment reached out to me with something. Were not people to ask for handouts but yeah it was ridiculous. The food was good, once we found a server to take our order.
Over great experience. We had Mario our server take our order but the entire reat of our meal we did not see him, but another server helped.us out.
The chicken was Wonderful
Really great service and he particularly enjoyed the specials – corn bread crusted fish and braised short ribs were both awesome.
The food was good. Our server was in such a hurry and not overly thrilled to be serving his customers.
Beets in salad weren't cooked, nuts weren't caramelized, apples in dessert were canned. Bisque had no meat in it. Quality and preparation of food was fair.
Went for a show and had their special dinner. Food was well prepared and tasty. A bit short on service due to staffing, but the staff that was there worked hard to make it great. Good job !
Nice time, above average food, good service, maybe slightly over priced
We have eaten at Kil@Wat for years at this time (December). Our food on Tuesday night was terrific - except for the rolls, which were a bit stale. Service was friendly and efficient. The location for Kil@Wat is great; as it is in the same building as the Stackner and Quadracci theaters.
This is a wonderful place for lunch. All of the food is delicious and prepared with care, and at least at lunch it is quite affordable.
As always, Kil@Wat gave us a wonderful meal in delightful surroundings. We love the view of the Marcus Center and Red Arrow Park. Our meals and the service were superlative!
The food for sunday morning brunch was great, but the server was very slow.
We learned after our dinner the hotel and restaurant are closing soon to be rebranded which is now understandable given the poor experience we had. Overall, understaffed, inattentive, very limited menu and poor quality of food. However, our server Becky was great. Just avoid this restaurant...many other nearby options.
Food was very good and the wait staff service was excellent, but we got there 30 minutes early and had to beg the hostess to let us sit in the bar to wait. (The bartender was very accommodating.) The hostess said she would text us when our table was ready. 45 minutes later, I checked to see why we had not been called and found a half-empty restaurant. She obviously forgot. When I was visibly upset because we had been waiting, nothing even resembling an apology was forthcoming. Rather, she was a little snippy with me because I was upset. That pretty much ruined the whole experience, regardless of what came after.
I have gone to the Kil@Wat for years.
I love the location, valet parking and close availability of the shows.
I have enjoy the food and rate it as very good for the price point.
I have been somewhat disappointed in menu offering especially when
it comes to the deserts. They used to offer an outstanding chocolate cake
with topping. It is missed.
Wait staff was excellent, food was very very average. Had the very salad, had about 5 pieces of beets on it total and added chicken as well that was very hard.
Food was wonderful, 3-course meal was a value, however the server talked very quietly which got to be a problem as the restaurant got busier. And, we were very surprised, and disappointed, when we were told that they did not have Drambuie at the bar!
It has become a tradition for my family to come here every year before we see the play "CHRISTMAS CAROL" at Pabst theatre. I highly recommend both experiences!
We were seated right away upon arrival but waited quite a while before anyone came to our table, even though parties seated after us had been visited by servers. We tried the three course pre- theater menu. Food was uneven— some very good, some so-so and some cold and not tasty. Overpriced for what it was. Service was okay once we got started. The only time we ever eat here is before attending a show because it’s convenient. It’s been the same story for a long time.
Fast service and convenient before the Rep. A bit pricey, however.
The food was very good and a good value. Our waitress, Abby, was excellent. She was aware that we were going to The Rep for a show and made sure we got out on time. Unfortunately, we were seated after two (2) walk-ins, each with two (2) guests, who were shown to booth tables by the windows over looking the Marcus Center and Red Arrow Park. We, who made reservations on Open Table, were shown to a small table next to the ledge where the servers left the water pitchers. When asked why we were seated at a less desirable table, the host merely shrugged his shoulders and walked away. So, rather than enjoying a wonderful early winter view, we were put into a corner. Makes me wonder what value there is in using Open Table or making a reservation at this restaurant, at all.
Great food and atmosphere. Staff was a little inattentive, but it didn’t really ruin the experience. Just felt a little neglected. Love the interior and the music is the best!!!
Tasty food in pleasant setting with good views of downtown Milwaukee.
Thought food was very good but prices were a little high $82 plus tip was $100 for four people four juices two mixed drinks
