Cozy spot. Decent food. Good service. Been in business for many years.
This is an authentic French Bistro that transports you to a side street in Paris or the countryside of Burgundy or Bordeaux. If you are looking for a cool hip place, this is not it; however, if you want authentic, outstanding French food with phenomenal service, then Kikis is your place. First, Kiki greets you at the door and seats you at your table. Then a friendly, knowledgeable waiter warmly welcomes you. Ask away, they know the menu and wines inside and out. My wife and I celebrated Valentines with a romantic dinner here. We had the seared Fois Gras and French onion soup, followed by the steak au poivre and rack of lamb, and topped it all off with profiteroles for dessert. OUTSTANDING!
This is truly a perfect French bistro filled with ambiance, charm, and amazing food and service.
The food was very good, the room is beautiful, the service is exceptional and the price is affordable.
Kiki ran a restaurant in the Loop in the 1980's a half block from my office and it became my favorite --and frequent-- lunch spot. We are now retired and live in a distant burb but when a friend or an opera or play brings us to Chicago KIKI's Bistro is where we go for a perfect dinner. DZ
The restaurant was closed and they did not call or email to tell us they would not be open on a Friday evening. We showed up to a dark restaurant.
First time here and WOW was I impressed. The service, food, and cocktails were all amazing, enhanced by the wonderful ambiance. Looking forward to a future visit!
I have been to Kiki's in the past with a large group where the wine was flowing. That was fun. I had a small quiet dinner this time and was a little underwhelmed by the food and value. Wine by the glass is in $10-$15 range. Salmon entrée was just OK. Mashed potatoes with the entree were very grainy and not very good. The texture seemed like instant potatoes. Chocolate mousse "cake" was not a cake but a few scoops of mousse. I do recommend Kiki's as a fun place to buy bottles of wine with a group and have a nice large table. The food is relatively straightforward and simple. While the food was OK, it was not a good value for a one on one dinner.
If you love traditional French food in a traditional atmosphere you will love this place the food is outstanding.
We were in the city from South Bend IN. Dining at Kiki’s is always a treat and a highlight of our time in Chicago.
Without a doubt one of the only truly authentic and reliably delicious French bistros in Chicago. And the service is always first class.
Kiki's was just as great as we remembered it from several years ago. Kiki was there to greet his guests and assure a great experience. The food, service and ambiance were all first class. Thank you, Kiki!
The foie gras was not appetizing. The filet mignon was very good
Love it! Love Kiki! What a fantastic menu for restaurant week.
Always a pleasure to come to this comfortable, welcoming neighborhood favorite. Have never been disappointed.
Always amazing food, wine & service. A true gem. Casual or fancy you can’t go wrong! Go all week long for fantastic specials. The Dover Sole is my personal favorite!
Received a moldy slice of bread without even acknowledgment from management or the server. She barely even came back to the table after i showed it to her and gave it back.
The foi gras was just ok but the fish and steak were excellent
We love Kiki's Bistro! The food is excellent, the service is great & the atmosphere lovely!
It is Restaurant week in Chicago. Kiki’s special menu is outstanding and a really great value. I always am amazed how the ambiance feels like the French countryside in the heart of the city.
Attentive, friendly service and great presentation.
The waiter was a bit stuffy. Food was wonderful! Friendly staff aside from waiter;) Prices a bit high! Spent $175 + tip for 2 people.
Just wondering....do restaurants actually get the messages that are sent? The last 2 times I had something negative to say, I chose to not include it in the review, but felt it important to let the restaurant know how we felt...Neither time did I receive a reply back; one was to a LEYE restaurant and they are usually so good about getting back to diners...
We left without eating. The hostess and the waiter were quite rude. We had 8:30 reservations but they were already out of two items and there was very cold air blowing from somewhere. We got drinks but decided to eat somewhere else. They did comp our drinks and ask why we were leaving.
What a warm and friendly place to dine. We each ordered different options so we could try it all, and were really pleased. The food was good and the wine list was extensive. They have a great early menu option from 5 until 6:30 for $32 that has many more options than the Restaurant Week menu, we will be back for that! People at the next table were speaking French, and a friend from France also highly recommends this restaurant.
An absolutely delightful evening! Out waiter, Mark, was very attentive and poured us a lovely bordeaux. Kiki and Denise are always lovely hosts! 5 Stars!
The absolute best French martini in the world. And I have been to France.
Kiki’s has always been a favorite dining experience for my husband and I for many years. It is very French with its warm rich dining room and white table linens. A very smiling, upbeat and accommodating staff with impeccable service.
The food is unique with its light and savory sauces, a true compliment to their amazing Chef.
The atmosphere is very romantic yet not sedate.
A perfect dining experience.
We had a fabulous time at Kiki's. The food was fabulous, the service was wonderful, and we will definitely be back!
We love dining at Kiki's especially for special ocassions . Authentic French cuisine. Servings are large. Wine list is good. Service is excellent. Dessert is to die for especially our favorite, crepe suzette and creme brulee. Dining at Kiki's is as close as you can be to Paris!
We have been dining with Kiki since 1971, beginning at le Bourdeau and for many years at his namesake. We have never been disappointed.
Love Kiki’s but this was weird experience as we had a 7:30 reservation which didn’t seem out of the ordinary...even on a Monday night. But by about 8:45pm we were almost last people in the restaurant and by 9pm it felt as though the staff were turning off lights to get us out of there...so they could all go home. It get that it was a Monday...of a holiday weekend...and cold night. But I would have thought the usual warmth of the hospitality of Kiki’s would have still been present. I felt as though We were overstaying our welcome...and it was not a comfortable experience. Next time...please just offer take-out or just close your restaurant. Otherwise I really do love you!!!
