Ki Modern Japanese + Bar - Toronto Ratings and Reviews
Had another wonderful dining experience at Ki Restaurant - From reception - hostess - to the waiter - to the assistant waiter it was exceptional service. The seaweed salad was amazing as was the variety and quality of the menu. I could not believe that 3 1/2 hours went by but again our waiter never made us feel that we were too long at the table. Great experience!!!!
The Ki has become my latest "my restaurant". I love eating at the sushi bar with those high backed chairs that enclose you and your dining partner in your own intimate space. The food is never disappointing, service is excellent. My sister comes into town every few months and we just automatically say "Let's go to the Ki!"
celebrated my birthday at Ki with my parents... loved the food, ambiance, only glitch was our server who was mostly humourless and bordered on rude to my 80 year old mother when she was having trouble deciding what to order. Brought the evening down from a wonderful experience to a so so one... might prevent me from going back, for that money I want an outstanding experience where we're made to feel like honoured guests
the only negative was that I asked that my drink have limited ice and it came chock a block full thus the average service rating.
Otherwise the service is very knowledgeable and attentive. Always like that they can accommodate those rushed to get to the game.
We had the 8 Courses tasting menu for valentine's day. The food is amazing. I feel like i am having Iron Chef Morimoto kind of Japanese cuisine. I really enjoyed my dinner for valentine's day. Excellent Japanese chef, variety of premium sake. Best japanese food in Toronto.
My girlfriend and I recently had a night out at Ki Restaurant, it was our first time there. I figured it seemed like a nice spot to visit on Valentines day.
We arrived, and the atmosphere/environment is very warm and pleasent. We were served by Chris, he and all other staff were friendly and the service was top notch, absolutely.
My girlfriend and I were raving about the food off and on throughout our visit, it was absolutely delicious! Specifically, the spicy salmon. I am a huge spicy salmon fan, but the way they prepare the salmon sushi at Ki takes the cake. The salmon tasted very fresh and delicious.
In closing, thank you Ki team for making our night a great one, and we plan to be back soon!
Great Service and nice ambiance, BUT the sushi is mediocre !
We were thrilled by the menu description and creative selection of flavours, but the execution was a big disappointment!
we tried almost all the special makimono rolls off the menu, and they were below average !
Of note, chowder miso soup and the black cod hot plate weren't bad!
We would go to Blowfish next time we'r in for a delish fusion sushi + ambiance 'n good music !
I came across this restaurant via Google Maps when trying to find somewhere for dinner that was close to the hotel my boyfriend and I were staying at. The entire experience was far from disappointing. We had the 7 course tasting menu that Chef was highlighting in spirit of NYE. Being one that isn't overly adventurous I was unsure how much I would enjoy this but I'm so glad we went this route. Each course was amazing and left me looking forward to what would be brought out next. Our server (can't remember her name) was excellent, very knowledgable, friendly and fun. Points of service were right on the mark and everything was timed well. The support staff and Sommelier were great as well. I will be returning!
Food was awesome. Tempura butterfish rolls - YUM. Seared scallops off the hot plate menu - YUM. Spicy avocado rolls - YUM.
Service (SANDY) was awesome - attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.
The only negative thing I have to say is that the restaurant (at least where we were sitting) was FREEZING cold! Bring a sweater!
My girlfriend and I had dinner here for her birthday several months ago and found almost all of the dishes to be delicious (a few of the rolls were average in taste, especially given the price). The ambiance is quite nice with a warmly lit modern lounge feel. What sold it for me was that our server noticed my girlfriend's birthday card on our table and arranged a small cake with candle, completely unprompted. I've since been back for a business lunch and hope to visit again.
I live in Caledon and my friend that works downtown recommended eating at your restaurant. I was very impress with your staff and they were so friendly and curios. The food was amazing. The only negative comment I can make is the main entry didn't come with a side. The staff kept informing us your food items are selected for sharing, which we didn't LOL. I also found it a bit pricey.
Sushi and other dishes were good, but not great. Some innovative rolls. Presentation was nice. You are definitely paying for the ambiance and the (doubtless) high rent of the location. Service truly was excellent! Overall, I would likely not go back too soon due to the plethora of other sushi restaurants in the city that are either more value for money or have better sushi.
Came to Ki for an early dinner before a concert at the ACC. As usual, it proved to be the perfect venue. Our server was outstanding and taught us a lot about Japanese cuisine and custom while serving us delicious fare. Favorites amongst the group were the Spicy Sake and Maguro rice cakes and the short ribs. Of course, these were complimented perfectly by ice cold Asahi beer. Thanks for a great night!
