Keystone Ranch Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Thanksgiving Meal - not worth the price. The "Thanksgiving Special" was 35.00 which was so small even the kids went home and ate a sandwich. The only vegetarian option was a mix of 3 grilled vegetables. The appetizer, gnocchi, was dry and bland. They have a new chef and we were not impressed. That being said the staff worked very hard that evening and more than deserved the 25% tip.
Very impressive, love the food, It was spectacular....the feel was wonderful....love the bring drinks and desert and relax in the "living room" really special....the chef is amazing......our waiter was wonderful and we had a day early Thanksgiving to accommodate our daughter in college and spend time with our family before my husband deploys....they did an amazing job
Hard to find. Map apps did not find the place.
If I had not been there before we would not have made it. Food was all beautiful but both entrees were underdone. We complained and they corrected it. Delicious desserts including a great soufflé. They gave us a slight discount without asking but I must say considering the prices and dislocation involved in the meal nowhere near enough.
Very nice waitress.
We had a great time. It has been 15 years since we have been here last and this experience was better than before. It was great to see they have moved to an ala carte experience and Scott Smith, Dining Room Manager, and Chef Vincent Damato, NEW and AMAZING EXECUTIVE CHEF, knocked it out of the park. Our service was impeccable and the food was some of the best I have had in 15+ years in the restaurant business. Thanks again for a memorable experience.
We celebrated a birthday at Keystone Ranch. All of the waitstaff were amazing. They offered us a celebratory glass of champagne when we arrived and then let us work our way through the evening at our own pace. I couldn't decide whether to have the Mushroom bisque with a steak or the Gumbo which was the fresh catch. I opted for the bisque and steak and was very pleased with my selection. Much to my surprise, following dinner as we were moving the the living room for dessert, our waiter Brandon introduced us to the chef. The chef gave me a large container of the gumbo that I had also wanted and then kindly told me how to reheat it. This was a wonderful dining experience. Keystone Ranch is our new favorite place in Summit County.
We decided to try this restaurant again after a not-so-good experience several years ago when they only offered game. It was a wonderful experience from PJ as the bartender in the bar for a pre-dinner drink, to our darling waitress, Ashton. One of our meals came out cold but was quickly remedied and was delicious. I had read prior reviews that the food was salty and I must agree, but it was not overly so and I happen to like a touch of salt. We had our dessert (not so great) and coffee in the charming living room. Overall, it was the perfect place to celebrate the occasion. Ambiance like none other!
All the years coming to Keystone and I'd never been to the Ranch before. How could that be? Cannot beat the views or ambiance. Menu is filled with incredibly well prepared Colorado sourced items. Retiring to the "living room" for dessert is an extra treat. Incredible experience from start to finish including the Cabernet Franc with dinner. Don't miss the Ranch when in Summit County.
What a hidden gem this place is! Certainly off the beaten path but worth the lovely drive up here. Scott, Katrina and the entire team always take great care of us and the food is consistently very good. Make your reservation earlier in the evening so you can enjoy the beautiful views.
New chef Vinny is making a huge difference at the Ranch that had previously gotten a little tired. Scratch kitchen makes a big difference. Something for everyone... both the surf & turf crowd after golf, and the foodie folks looking for something inventive and gorgeous. He is even doing breakfast and lunch during the summer months. The Ranch has a new life. I've been going there since the mid-80's, and it has gone through phases... now with a lift of fresh energy in the kitchen.
My husband decided to get wedding photos taken here before sitting down for dinner. The wait staff was awesome. Ashton went above and beyond to make our dinner amazing on our special day. Overall wonderful experience! Oh, and our wedding cake was DELICIOUS!
My second visit with friends. The prices may be on the higher end just a bit more than Breck prices but you get much better quality food here. It would be hard to disappoint here. Tuna app was absolutely delish although small, not meant to share. Lobster ceviche was tasty. The *huge* and tender ribeye steaks and sauces were fantastic. My friends Strip was more tender and larger than your average strip too, he licked the plate clean! Accidental oversalt on the risotto, as a salt-lover I didnt mind too much, the brussel sprout side made up for it sauteed sofltly in a very light cream sauce. Martinis are always great, service excellent as usual! Dessert togo (a dense chocolate layer cake) is delish even 2 days later for lunch :)
It had been awhile since our last visit and we were pleasantly surprised by the new chef and ala carte menu. While featuring steaks there's something for everyone here including a veggie stack for your vegetarian . Longtime waiter John was attentive as usual. We will not wait so long before our next visit.
The ambience, service and setting in the mountains were great, but my sirloin steak was served cold and couldn't be cut with the provided steak knife. A tenderloin steak was substituted and it was satisfactory. The sides were salted too heavily and inedible.
Locals trying the new chef and menu. Seafood trio of crab was just OK . Should have ordered the steak menu...next time. Seafood in the mountains is always a gamble! Apps were great but wine list a little pricier than last visit. Wish the new chef good luck.
The bread and butter were the best part of the meal. The soups were loaded with salt and the entrees were even saltier. The new chef obviously doesn't know how to cook if he has to salt the food to the point that your tongue burns! We overheard another table complain that their food was too salty as well! Dessert (cake) was super dry and tasted like it sat uncovered in a fridge for hours, drying out and hardened. Our server was pleasant. The view from the main restaurant is very pretty. They take you to another room for your dessert, which is a nice touch, however, this room was disheveled, sloppy, worn down and plain ugly. It wasn't the sweet ending they were trying to accomplish. Prices are very high for poor quality offerings. My advice is to have only drinks or bar food at this place. Go to Ski Tip Lodge for a true dining experience - it's beyond perfect there!
Our service was just right, not too much interaction but it didn't feel like we were being ignored. The food was seasoned perfectly, arrived at our table hot and ready to eat. It was an incredibly rich meal so neither of us could finish it but we enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere and coziness of the living room after dinner really made our night.
We had a very nice dining experience and the food was real good too. Scott was very understanding with our request to move back our reservation. Christina, our server, went well beyond our expectations accommodating the likes and dislikes of our small grandson as well as the dietary restrictions of our daughter and son-in-law. Scott and Christina read our needs very well and made very sure we were comfortable. The Woodford Reserve old fashion and very drinkable Pinot Noir helped too.
Our experience at Keystone Ranch was definitely mixed.
On the good side the restaurant itself was very nice, with upscale Colorado-rustic decor and fine views out over the golf course. The option to have dessert and coffee in the "living room" instead of at the table was a nice touch (similar to the Ski Tip Lodge, another Keystone restaurant). Generally the menu was creative and the food was beautifully presented and very tasty for the most part. Although our dinner was expensive overall, the prices seemed pretty fair.
On the not-so-good side there were a number of small and large things that added up to an overall disappointment: There was no salt or pepper on the table, which is a pet peeve of mine; if everything had been perfectly seasoned it would not have been an issue, but my mushroom soup was a bit bland and could have used a bit of both, and the salad could have used some pepper (fresh ground would have been nice, but that was not offered either). More importantly, my steak, which I ordered medium rare, arrived extremely rare, and after being taken back to be re-fired, it then came out in two pieces and well-done. The charge was taken off the bill even though I didn't request it, which was a plus, but obviously someone in the kitchen wasn't paying attention and it put a definite damper on the main part of the meal.
Finally, our service definitely fell short; perhaps our server was new, but beyond saying the daily specials she didn't have anything to add to the menu (in contrast, we overheard the server at the next table giving a nice explanation of some of the unfamiliar dishes, such as halibut cheeks, which we had never heard of and would not have tried otherwise - they were delicious). My wife's order came with the wrong side dish, which was either a kitchen mixup or a server error and which the server should have caught either way.
On balance, we are glad we tried the restaurant, but it did not live up to our expectations and we will not be back.
Shared a delightful meal at Keystone Ranch with my wife, celebrating our 20th. Food was outstanding and the service (Sarah was our server) was warm and attentive. The feel of the place contributed to a memorable evening together. Chocolate cake and decaf by the fireplace was a wonderful meal topper. As a vegetarian I was more than pleased by my food, though the choices were limited. My wife had a steak and thought it was quite nice. We are not usually ones for fine dining, but are both pleased to have made the choice to dine at Keystone Ranch.
Arrived 15 minutes early for our 5:30 reservation, Scott the manager (zero personal skills) made my 93 & 91 yr old parents, who do not walk very well, sit on a hard bench in the lobby until exactly 5:30 to seat us at our table. Scott was not impressed that we were celebrating my parents 70th anniversary saying "eh, we've had high numbers in here before". Sounded as though he was being inconvenienced. Despite the poor reception, our server Ashton, the food, the ambience and even the fellow patrons were outstanding.
I loved the location and mountain views. The service was perfect. The salad and bread were very good. When the main course came, I was expecting a tender, juicy Prime quality steak. My steak was overcooked, dry and without seasoning. The mashed potatoes also lacked flavor. Very disappointing. We may try one more time but will probably order something other than steaks.
