Cozy, intimate and fun, the lemon Rock shrimp pasta was the culinary star tonight. The dark chocolate covered mousse island in a shallow lake of raspberry sauce was spectacular, we shared and every drop was gone. Service is cheerful and friendly. Five stars for service was earned by the way staff handled errors. The bottle we ordered was not the wine served - same vintner, wrong wine. They promptly and cheerfully replaced it with a new choice. More disconcerting was my oven roasted chicken served cold. Not underdone, but ice cold in the center like leftovers out of the refrigerator. An entirely new plate was brought out quite quickly, it was piping hot, juicy and delicious (but little jus). Our dessert was comped, with sincere apologies. Never did we feel service was indifferent or unfriendly throughout.
We’ll be back, but I can’t help but worry about the kitchen at the Grill. Mistakes happen (the distributor delivered the wrong wine), but serving an ice cold meal means a problem needs attention in the kitchen.
Excellent food, service and experience! Strongly recommend
A charming location, thoughtful staff and amazing food to share with friends.
Love this restaurant!! Always a favorite for 20 years! And now that great PIZZA TRUCK
You haven't truely experienced Sun Valley if you haven't the braised lamb shank here at least once. I talked everyone at our table into to ordering it and every one of them enjoyed it ... all eight of them! Friendly, attentive service. Delicious sides, salads and desserts. Only draw back for some might be lack of a full service bar. Beer and wine only, but they have an outstanding wine list. We'll be back.
A Ketchum old time favorite if you don't want a place that could be in a big city. However I feel the food has degenerated to mediocre at best...sorry to say.
They did a very nice job on service and food. The meals we had (goat cheese ravioli and lamb meatballs) were creative and very enjoyable.
We are locals and probably dine at Ketchum Grill twenty times a year, with never a disappointment. This is the original restaurant od Scott and Anne Mason, who (with their children) also own Town Square Tavern and Enoteca. This is the Trifecta of Ketchum casual restaurants and open year round with innovative comfy creations that always satisfy and are never fussy or pretentious, but always delicious and graciously served. The Grill is the coziest in winter, but doubles in size all summer with a patio. They serve only beer and wine, but the best of both. There is a private party room for groups. The Seafood is spectacular bur so are the day steak, lamb meatballs, pasta dishes, meatloaf, pizza and even the hand formed, premium beef hamburgers. The wine list ranges from carefully chosen, ecomomic wines by the glass to celebratory extravagance by the bottle. You will love this cozy, historic cabin in Ketchum.
Always a favorite while we are here. I love the meat loaf.
Great service and atmosphere. Local feel of a real mountain town.
Loud if the restaurant is full.
Everyone's meat was cooked excellently. The vegies listed on the menu to come with the dish were substituted with under cooked squash and mashed potatoes, which was mediocre. Waitress asked if that would be ok to substitute. We felt we needed to say yes.
Service was pretty slow and impersonal. The clams ( which we always order when on the menu) were fishy and we could smell them when the dish was arriving. With so many other dining options I’m surprised they don’t do a better job there.
Every time we visit the Ketchum Grille, we have a great dining experience! We have never been disappointed.
Another great meal. Ketchum grill never disappoints
Ketchum Grill reliably serves great dinners. Ambiance is great, service is friendly and professional and the food is consistently well prepared.
Can never get past the excellent shrimp pizza. Unfortunately I also need to eat the wonderful chocolate chi-chi as well.
Always excellent. Elk and beef Pasta dish was excellent as was the Idaho Trout.
Excellent all around and continues to be one of our favorites after 20+ years!!!
One of our favorites on Ketchum. They are lovely people and the food is delicious
We always enjoy the Ketchum Grill. We kick off or end our visits to SV with a night at this great local restaurant. Our server this time was Jeff and he was excellent. It is not really a kid restaurant but they offer great kid food options nevertheless. Wine list is great and the staff is very familiar with the wines. They usually offer several seasonal specials in addition to their solid menu. I had the filet with mushroom sauce this time and my husband had one of our faves, the lemon noodles with shrimp.
Always a great dinner out with plenty of tasty choices.
Great Service. Friendly atmosphere. My husband and I requested one meal, to split, and they accommodated our request by splitting the meal before we were served. Nice outdoor seating.
Annual visit to sun Valley reveals that the quality of the restaurant remains excellent: food, service, ambiance. Would definitely continue to recommend it. Especially nice to eat outside.
WE love the unique, Ketchum only, atmosphere and the food was outstanding. We asked our friends who live in Ketchum to take us somewhere we could only find in Ketchum. This was the perfect spot!
Ketchum Grill consistently great welcome, service, food and ambiance. Our favorite go to place in Ketchum. Thanks to all there for making us feel at home time after time!!
Received wine and water, asked for bread 1/2 hour in, asked where our salads and dinner were after sitting at a walkway table for one hour. Food came quickly then but where had it been sitting? We live in SV, dine in restaurants several times a week, didn’t have a good experience the time before this one and will pass again for awhile. Not a good experience.
Lamb was amazing!! Fell right off the bone!
Love this place!!!!! The best Ketchum restaurant- a must !!!! Great menu for everyone
Sat outside and had a nice meal.
Still has the best lamb shank around at a reasonable price. Very nice wine menu as well. Service was great and staff is helpful and friendly.
This is our third year of visiting Ketchum, Idaho and on all three visits we have eaten at least twice on a four or five day stay at The Ketchum Grill and if it was my call it would be every night!
The people working there are all very friendly and knowledgable and give you just that perfect amount of attention.
We will see you next year.

This used to be one of our go to spots is Ketchum. Unfortunately, the food was just OK, but the service was awful. Our waitress hardly came over to our table, we had wine before the water was even served, and she handed us off to another sever saying her shift was over and proceeded to have a drink at the bar... It was odd to say the least. So disappointing but there seems to be an arc for good restaurants and this one is definitely on the downward side.
Food is terrific. Wait staff was rude and disrespectful. Will NOT dine here again.
The Grill is our favorite Ketchum restaurant. Excellent staff, food, ambiance. Real value for locals and visitors!
Fabulous view open air dining. Foos very well done and presented. Excellent service, friendly staff. Beautiful view of the sunset.
The outdoor patio at Ketchum Grill in the summertime is a beautiful place to dine. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is always very good. I had the lamb shank which was mild as it was under 6mos. And never frozen. Very good but..it could have used a red wine reduction sauce or something. Sides were good. Hubby had the Baked Halibut which was cooked perfectly. Goat cheesecake was a delightful surprise. We will always Ketchum Grill one of our dinners when we go to Sun Valley for conferences.
As always, the Ketchum Grill delivered. We ate on the front terrace and everyone enjoyed their food
We had a family reunion and some of us were looking for a nice place with outdoor seating. The Ketchum Grill was exactly what we hoped for. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. The service was exceptional and our food was great. I ordered the shrimp pasta - I prefer larger shrimp, but when I let my husband have a bite he asked if he could trade his dinner with me and finished the entire plate. The meatloaf was also ordered and devoured. The desserts were delicious also. It was peaceful - quiet, but not too quiet. Great for conversation and a relaxing, delicious dinner. The wine selection was good - I ordered a glass of wine and wanted a bit more. They allowed me to order a 1/2 glass - a nice pour! If we are ever in Ketchum again, we WILL return.
The food was so good and the service was spot on! You must try the Lemon pasta, it is one of my favorite dishes.
Listed on some sites as dog friendly but not. They did try to accommodate us. Service excellent as were the specials, cold soup and trout. Lamb shank not hot, underseasoned. Wine list good but markup 150% to retail or near 3x wholesale.
