Ketchum Grill Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten at Ketchum Grill many, many times but this time the server was atrocious. Among other things He left dirty plates and silverware on the table and tried to squeeze are main courses around them. It was such a turn off. It will be a long time before I go back.
Housed in an historic building in downtown, Ketchum Grill has a cozy ambience that matches the warm greeting at the door. Service is efficient and attentive without being intrusive. Our knowledgeable waiter made excellent recommendations on both food and wine and shared the same welcoming attitude.
The menu offers a superb selection — every choice looked delicious and it was hard to choose. Pasta and pizzas, fresh salads, local lamb, meat, chicken and fish dishes offer something for everyone. Most of the menu is gluten free and clearly marked. While savory and well proportioned, the food is not overly rich. After a meal of crisp salad and delectable lamb meatballs accompanied by spaghetti squash and mashed potatoes, we left feeling satisfied but not overstuffed.
The wine and beer list offer a nicely edited selection which pairs well with the food and has a good range of price points.
Prices are not inexpensive, but fair for the area and the quality of the food. Ketchum Grill is a go to favorite for a wonderful evening.
Consistency is the bane of the restauranteur's business and somehow the family that owns the Ketchum Grill and two other stellar Ketchum restaurants never seems to miss. We've dined at the Ketchum Grill many, many times over the years and the service and food always hover between excellent and superb.
Lovely little restaurant that was very crowded for obvious reasons. The tables are very close together! We made pleasant company with those dining around us. The food was well presented and delicious. The lamb shank was perfectly cooked. The pasta was delicious. We would definitely dine with them again.
The food was very good. A comment I would make is that the basic meal should come with a salad. The folks serving us were very pleasant and it was very obvious that all staff knew their menu and pairing of wine with the dinner selected. The environment was such that we could hear each other well enough to carry on a conversation. Excellent choice for our special event.
A very enjoyable evening with friends. We usually eat here 2 to 4 times a year but this evening was especially nice. Was it the company or the delicious fish (enjoyed by 3) or the duck? The chef also owns 2 other restaurants in Sun Vally and this one is often overlooked. Give it a try!
My boyfriend and I went to ketchum grill for our anniversary, and had a great experience the shrimp cakes were quite good with the fabulous sauce that came with it. I had the monkfish and horseradish sauce that was one of my favorites and he had duck with Huckleberry sauce which was also quite good, the waitress was very nice and helpful by suggesting different wines for us to try we both enjoyed getting to talk to the manager when she surprised us at our table with our dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others, and plan to come back again soon.
Excellent small restaurant. Good food and solid service. Great mid-tier option in Ketchum. would choose here before some of the high end spots if you want very good food and don't want to spend a fortune. Good option vs. the bar food places to get better food and nice atmosphere. Would recommend a reservation since they have limited seating. Cozy and tables are fairly close together.
Disappointed in the food, no one in our party of 5 was enthusiastic about their meal, unfortunate since this has traditionally been a favorite. Also don’t really appreciate the wait staff gathering at the bar to fold napkins and enjoy their meal while we are sitting next to them.
Being locals, we go to Ketchum Grill quite often, but this meal was particularly spectacular! I ordered the special "slow cook" meal of short ribs over blue cheese polenta. The ribs were perfectly lean, as promised by our waitress, Krista, and the polenta was to die for! My husband ordered the parmesan encrusted halibut and it too was absolutely delicious. We always appreciate that Ketchum Grill offers affordably priced wine by the glass, as well. The apple dumpling a la mode was the ideal way to top off our wonderful meal!
As always, we had a wonderful evening at Ketchum Grill after a day at the Jazz Festival. Service was expert and the food delicious as always- 3 of us had the lemon noodles and shrimp, always a favorite, and my husband enjoyed the elk chili. Two of our party ordered the nightly special of halibut, but by 6:15 (!) it was gone. They enjoyed the trout and the salmon, though.
Food and service were great. It eas our first time there. We are locals and will come back, but ONLY if we are seated at a table away from kitchen entrance. The fisht smell, noise, and constant back and forth of servers by our table spoiled the ambience and made mt birthday dinner less special.
We live in the community. I have been a regular customer of the Grill since 1992. On this occasion, I brought 6 guests from Paris, France. The restaurant was no more than 33% filled. We had a total of five different folks wait on us. After the wine was poured, no one came to pour more. Same for the water. We had to ask. Since the restaurant was 33% filled, and since there were numerous folks to serve us, it was sad for me that the service was so poor. The Manager did ask us how we liked the food at the end of the meal, but no one asked us just after the food was served. I think the Owner and manager need to talk to their staff. There are many other fine restaurants in Ketchum where one can go and obtain better service.
