Ketchum Grill Ratings and Reviews
My boyfriend and I went to ketchum grill for our anniversary, and had a great experience the shrimp cakes were quite good with the fabulous sauce that came with it. I had the monkfish and horseradish sauce that was one of my favorites and he had duck with Huckleberry sauce which was also quite good, the waitress was very nice and helpful by suggesting different wines for us to try we both enjoyed getting to talk to the manager when she surprised us at our table with our dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others, and plan to come back again soon.
Excellent small restaurant. Good food and solid service. Great mid-tier option in Ketchum. would choose here before some of the high end spots if you want very good food and don't want to spend a fortune. Good option vs. the bar food places to get better food and nice atmosphere. Would recommend a reservation since they have limited seating. Cozy and tables are fairly close together.
Disappointed in the food, no one in our party of 5 was enthusiastic about their meal, unfortunate since this has traditionally been a favorite. Also don’t really appreciate the wait staff gathering at the bar to fold napkins and enjoy their meal while we are sitting next to them.
Being locals, we go to Ketchum Grill quite often, but this meal was particularly spectacular! I ordered the special "slow cook" meal of short ribs over blue cheese polenta. The ribs were perfectly lean, as promised by our waitress, Krista, and the polenta was to die for! My husband ordered the parmesan encrusted halibut and it too was absolutely delicious. We always appreciate that Ketchum Grill offers affordably priced wine by the glass, as well. The apple dumpling a la mode was the ideal way to top off our wonderful meal!
As always, we had a wonderful evening at Ketchum Grill after a day at the Jazz Festival. Service was expert and the food delicious as always- 3 of us had the lemon noodles and shrimp, always a favorite, and my husband enjoyed the elk chili. Two of our party ordered the nightly special of halibut, but by 6:15 (!) it was gone. They enjoyed the trout and the salmon, though.
Food and service were great. It eas our first time there. We are locals and will come back, but ONLY if we are seated at a table away from kitchen entrance. The fisht smell, noise, and constant back and forth of servers by our table spoiled the ambience and made mt birthday dinner less special.
We live in the community. I have been a regular customer of the Grill since 1992. On this occasion, I brought 6 guests from Paris, France. The restaurant was no more than 33% filled. We had a total of five different folks wait on us. After the wine was poured, no one came to pour more. Same for the water. We had to ask. Since the restaurant was 33% filled, and since there were numerous folks to serve us, it was sad for me that the service was so poor. The Manager did ask us how we liked the food at the end of the meal, but no one asked us just after the food was served. I think the Owner and manager need to talk to their staff. There are many other fine restaurants in Ketchum where one can go and obtain better service.
Dear KG Staff;
You would elevate to a 5 star restaurant if you went to all organic offerings. Also, you could be more creative recipes. I wonder how many
GMO's and pesticides are in your foods?
You could do vastly better in serving bio-dynamically foods that promote health.
Ketchum Grill never disappoints. It is our go to every time we visit Sun Valley. The staff are always courtesy and attentive. The food is wonderful. Our group had several of the dishes - lamb, steak, duck, pasta and everyone raved about the food. Will definitely return.
One of our group, who we all know to be a jokester, made a comment that the waitress misconstrued as rude (not unwarranted), but she reacted negatively towards us the rest of the evening. As far as my meal, the description of the lemon pasta sounded wonderful but fell flat. Leave the lemon out of the pasta dough and it’ll probably be really good.
I would have given a 5 star rating had the hostess been more proactive upon our arrival. It was a quiet night and tables were available. However, this being our first time to the restaurant, I made reservations with OpenTable. Upon our arrival, I advised the hostess we had reservations. She never asked our name and we were seated. We began our dining experience with prosecco, then on to dinner with wine. It was a lovely meal and the chef created a delicious vegan plate for me. My husband had the short ribs which he said were excellent. When we got home, there was an email from OpenTable stating we had not honored our reservation and that should this become a pattern, the service will not be available to us in the future. I replied that we had in fact honored our reservation. OpenTable then followed up with the restaurant. For my husband and myself, this was an unnecessary post dinner exercise that could simply been avoided had the hostess cared to ask our name.
Have eaten here at least a dozen times over the last few years. Am always surprised that the dining experience seems so chaotic. Everyone from host to servers are always running which does not make for a very relaxing evening. The menu needs serious updating and amazingly they were out of their signature dish the lemon pasta with shrimp (used to be with rockfish). This may have been my last meal there....but love the same owner's other restaurant Enoteca where the experience on many occasions has been nothing but great.
My husband and I ate here while on vacation at the sun valley resort. I had the duck and he had the steak special. Both were excellent. Our servers were very helpful and gave us good recommendations. We sat outside, which was lovely. Would definitely recommend it!
We've been going to Ketchum Grill for 15 years now. And each time, they deliver a unique menu in one of the best environments. This year we enjoyed the house made lemon pasta and shrimp, roasted chicken, and slow cooked lamb meatballs...on the beautiful outdoor patio. Each entree shined, with the lamb meatballs stealing the show. Dessert was, as always, even more amazing. The mint ice cream sandwich was so fresh, I had to try a second bite to ensure I didn't accidentally each a fresh mint leaf...I didn't...it was the house made ice cream. And this year's new surprise was a kids menu that my son loved...roasted chicken and home made mac and cheese..it looked and smelled so good, I sneaked a bite and then two...it was amazing! Can't wait to get back for another meal.
