Keoki's Paradise Ratings and Reviews
We have been going to Keoki's Paradise for more than a decade and have never been disappointed in the food or the service, whether there have been just two of us or our family of 11. But the music in the main dining room was just too loud and intrusive. It made conversation (for the two of us) impossible and was downright annoying. The noise level might have been ok for a concert venue but not for dinner background music.
The food was great and our server was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We were seated fairly quickly despite how busy they were. Our sever, Paul, greeted us promptly and with a high level of energy that he maintained throughout the experience. He had lots of helpful suggestions and was especially knowledgeable about the local fish. Best of all, he was able to share all this info without it feeling invasive, a rare talent. The food was delicious. We had the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was perfectly warm, gooey, and balanced, plus the chips and garlic bread served with it were superb. My husband had the filet, which was cooked perfectly and plated on top of a cream, well seasoned pile of mashed potatoes. I forget what the thing I ordered was called, but it was two kinds of fish prepared two different ways with a starch and a veg, all Chef’s choice. It was amazing. My husband, who doesn’t like fish, liked everything on my plate. The Ono was so tasty. He said he liked it as much or better than his filet. The white rice was cooked perfectly. The sauces paired perfectly with the fishes. Delectable! We were there for our anniversary and they treated us to a Hula Pie. I can’t eat ice cream, but my husband loved it!
The food quality is very good. The restaurant is a neat place that is very visually appealing. My only comment was that the food service is slow. Our server was extremely nice and accommodating, but it took a really long time to get our food. Overall it’s a great place.
We have eaten here many times. The quality of the food wasn’t good and my fish came out raw. The second one they brought me didn’t taste good and didn’t have the sauce on top. The waiter was the slowest person ever. He tried to be comical but he was offensive instead.
Even with a reservation it took a bit to get seated. We were in Kauai at high tourist time, so that could have been the reason. This restaurant is LOUD, so if you have anyone who has hearing issues, beware. The food was pretty good, not excellent by any means which was kind of a bummer considering the place is pricy. My vegetables were room temp, the fish was pretty warm, not hot. Hula Pie for dessert is a great passing dish for the table.
after a full day on the South shore we ended up at Keoki's and we loved it!
our server was wonderful and very knowledgeable of the menu. The drinks and food were yummy! Our table was a cute little 2 top by the railing and near the live band. the band wasn't too loud and we were able to chat easily.
How often can you truly say the fish was cooked perfectly? Somehow the chef (s) manages to do this every time. Just delicious. Frenchy was our waitress and she really is a gem. We also enjoyed the band that plays on Thursday evening, Chico and da adda guy, not sure of the spelling, but they were really impressive.
Nice fish preparations. Good beer and wine selection. It’s a v big restaurant which creates an industrial feel to the service. Our fellow was running all over the place with the result that service was spotty. Overall a good place for a standard dinner out. Nothin special.
A nice dinner - we split the short rib baos, which were tasty with incredibly mild, tender mustard seeds (serving the role of flying fish roe), the Caesar salad, and the pork ribs Duroc (Imu-smoked) with smashed potatoes and root vegetables. Left us sated but not stuffed, and for a very reasonable price (especially for Hawaii!). Add a Longboard lager and a very generous (30%) tip and it was under $60. The ambience, while perhaps a tad "island kitsch" was quite nice - our border table for two was on the lagoon, with a good view of the fountain/waterfall and the small stage where a very talented Hawaii singer/guitarist performed, with & without a lovely hula dancer. All in all a pleasant dinner - would definitely return (much better than the grill and bar on the other side of this small shopping area). Reservations recommended.
