Great time. Thanks!
Date night with the wife during the week was a treat! Crowd was very small, easily booked a table. Ambiance and vibes were definitely nice. Appetizers that were recommended by the waitress were tasty. Drinks were very enjoyable as well. I would say the only part of the meal that I wasn't completely satisfied with was the 30 day dry aged ribeye. For $80, I wasn't too impressed. The Mrs. seemed to enjoy it, that's all that matters!
Food and drink were great, but mains did take a long time to come out. Super cool building too!
Excellent food with great service! Loved the wine our waiter selected and loved even more that it was poured from the barrel, reducing packaging and waste. Only complaint was the portions were so small, I left craving a big mac! Our table of six shared three starters, we each had a pasta main and shared two desserts and we were all still hungry!
The service and atmosphere are great and the food was superb. I had the best duck entree of my life, hands down.
The New Years Eve dinner and wine pairing was fantastic!
Wonderful brunch with family. That apple nut whatever bread with the cream on top was out of this world. We had to order a second for the table.
This was unarguably the best dining experience I have had in the city in recent memory. The atmosphere was great, the food was beyond delicious, and our bartender/server/excellent human being, Jason, was unparalleled. The experience would have been great regardless, but his knowledge, shared opinions of the menu, and personality made this more than a five star experience. Cannot wait to return.
Food was cold and under seasoned. Was really disappointed
We’re regulars and always enjoy KQ. It is winter, of course, but it was rather cold in the dining room. Drinks are kind of pricey. Other than that, food and service are always excellent.
It was simply a great experience- great service and awesome food and wine!
Birthday dinner for 6 on a Friday night. Server checked with chef about making a custom meat tasting app, serving up several meats from the butcher family style, in addition to several vegetable based smaller plates(beets with mole, Brussels sprouts, apple/radish salad) that we ordered. This was really nice and set the right mood, allowed good conversation and an experience that was about our group and slower pacing, vs about the restaurant. Brought an outside cake and the plating fee was modest, and the server added candles, nice touch. Overall this is a somewhat pricey establishment given the more casual vibe and casual presentation of the food(presentation only, the flavors and execution were very pleasing and seemed to take some successful risk), but overall delivered good value for money spent.
The KQ burger was saturated in oil and pretty much not eatable. However the skirt steak my father in law got and the Brussel sprouts made up for it, and were both delicious!
I've been to this restaurant before and the food is always super tasted as are the cocktails. I made a reservation for a large group and called ahead since one person in our party was vegan. They noted it in our reservation and mentioned it on the phone when they called to confirm. When we arrived at the restaurant the wait staff worked with my friend and the kitchen to craft a bespoke dish that she loved and when we ordered starters to share the wait staff consulted with her on how and what to modify with the apps to accommodate her. Overall our entire party was super thrilled with their meal and no one felt like they had to compromise!
Food was great! We really enjoyed dinner here
Great food and atmosphere. Our waitress was really nice and gave excellent recommendations for my dietary restrictions.
Food was tasty, atmosphere was great. Server was rude, didn't even crack a smile, and barely spoke to us throughout our visit. Portions were far too small - we all left hungry!
We loved our meal at Kensington Quarters! Our table ordered a variety of small plates, a pasta, and a few mains and shared and enjoyed every single dish! The only (mild) disappointment was dessert. The selection was small, and the one we ordered to share (chocolate pudding) was fine but not up to the level of the rest of the meal.
Great experience from start to finish. Beer list and cocktails were interesting and good! The service was timely and friendly. The food was fantastic. The prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back.
The KQ was very good. Service was top notch and ambiance is cool. Decent layout, and overall enjoyable.
Unfortunately our meals and coffee were all cold! All of the flavors were great though. Love this place and I’ve never had a bad meal, but today wasn’t the day :(
Very pleasantly surprised! Highly recommended.
Fantastic food, highlighted by a squash salad, beet salad, gnocchi and best in philly burger!!!
Was delicious and service was great.
What a great place. The decor and ambience is really great, welcoming yet trendy. The servers were all extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and products, with good suggestions. The food was spectacular - the MP ribeye was expensive, but completely worth it, cooked perfectly and the lamb sausage was incredible. We would definitely go back.
Service amazing, food amazing. Really good restaurant! Only thing is portions are a bit small.
Fantastic food with innovative flavors and outstanding service! Can’t wait to go back
Im not sure if it was sitting outside that caused the issues or not, but our service was poor. We were never told that there were any specials and came to find out that there was. Also our waitress dissapeared for a while in the middle of our meal. The pasta we ordered actually came out after our other main, which didnt make much sense either, almost as if it was forgotten. Our steak came out cold, and the sides came out after we had already had the steak for about 10 mins. The food was good, but would need to see improvements in service to come back.
Good food, service was good. Expensive, coffee service was abysmal.
Fantastic food, gorgeous patio, lovely wait staff.
Brunch was excellent! 👍
This was our first time at Kensington Quarters and we had been looking forward to it. When we walked in, we were impressed by the friendly vibe, views of the butchers at work in the meat locker, chefs at work in the kitchen, and a local crowd dining amicably. Our table on the first floor was nicely located and we were anticipating a good meal. Unfortunately, all of our meals fell short. First, the charcuterie appetizer was meager, not tasty, and uninspiring. Next, the pasta platter was small with just four tortellinis, a few cut up vegetables, and too much sauce. The hamburgers were tasty, but at $20, not a good value. The potatoes that accompanied the hamburger were the best item in our meal, and were quite delicious. Overall, though, we felt our meals were not a good value; the food was not appetizing, and we wouldn't return.
What a great experience we had! We had listed on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and they really went out of their way to make my husband feel special! We enjoyed a few appetizers which were all incredible! They were still running the meat and 3 Wednesday special which was so great! My husband got a steak. All of the food was cooked perfectly! The wine was great. The staff could not have been more helpful, pleasant, and kind. We thought this would be too pricy and a special occasion that we'd be unlikely to repeat. After such a great experience I know we will be back!
Interesting new spot in a fun neighborhood. Food is excellent and service is attentive and knowledgeable.
We spent a beautiful fall evening on the garden styled back patio. The staff lighted candled lanterns as the sun set that lent coziness to the surroundings. We arrived just as happy hour was ending, but were offered the opportunity to order from the happy hour menu. We tried the scrapple and fell in love with the salty crunchy savory bites. And all agreed the pate on the charcuterie plate was some of the best we have had. I ordered a burger, my table mates ordered the duck and tile fish respectively. My burger was delicious - juicy and flavorful, but the duck and tile fish entrees were outstanding. No need to get fancy drinks, the house wine is food friendly and reminiscent of something you would be served with your meal in a small European cafe, exceptionally good without pretension. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. Kensington Quarters absolutely deserves its spot in Philly Mag's Top 50 Philly restaurants.
The food was good, but the service was extraordinary. Friendly vibes, great atmosphere, the bartender made me feel very welcome and right at home for Saturday brunch. Definitely a good visit, and will go again next time I am in town.
Great for brunch
Nice beer selection
Great place.....would recommend, especially if you are a meat lover
nice place in fishtown...park on street...good service....good for meateaters which unfortunately I am not....
I could eat the chef's dirty farro for breakfast, lunch and dinner! And that's not even a main course! The duck breast is superb, as is the market-priced ribeye. The sear on the ribeye is amazing. The waitstaff is very attentive and helpful. KQ is my favorite restaurant in the city.
