Easter brunch, and the food was fantastic. First course appetizer was very tasty. The main dish was very well done, and the third course dessert was phenomenal. Almost too much to finish at a brunch, but it was all great. The craft cocktails were very, very good too. The setting is very unique and pleasant. Service was very good.
Food was delicious. Drinks were delicious. Not pretentious but definitely fine dining. Staff was personable and prompt. Extra care was taken for Easter which contributed the extra special touches. Will be back!!!
Our family of 6, including a 2 year old, came for Easter Brunch. Food was delicious, wait staff were friendly, professional and timely. We sat in a beautiful room. It was huge, beautifully decorated, and even when it was full we could hear our conversations. Loved that they had an Easter egg hunt for little ones in the garden. Wonderful experience as always! We'll be back.
Good atmosphere and location. Love the history behind the home. The food was a little overpriced for the quality. The pulled pork sandwich was very greasy. Overall it was a nice experience, but we probably will not be back for dinner. Maybe just to the bar for drinks

It was our 27th wedding anniversary and we decided to go to The Kenmore for dinner. We were greeted warmly by all on staff. We were also treated to a complimentary bottle of champagne. We both ordered the filet and it was perfect. We throughly enjoyed our evening.
The food was absolutely wonderful and the staff were very attentive. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and couldn't have asked for better service.
Service was pretty good, but not great...had a hard time getting a water refill for a bit, once identified, that was a non-problem.
Someone else's drink ended up on my bill - problem corrected.
Ambiance was fantastic - we had a GREAT time. One person at our table thought their portion size was unrealistically small. I couldn't tell. Mine was fine.
The food was good but disappointed that they ran out of the filet.

The food was really great. We had the crab bisque, filet mignon, chocolate strawberries, and tiramisu. Everything was amazing with only one exception, the tiramisu.
Our waitress was perfect, she always showed up at the right moment, but didn’t intrude.
The atmosphere was really beautiful, and quiet even though there is a bar in the next room.
We will visit again.
We were at Kenmore Inn to celebrate Valentine's Day on the day after. Food was excellent, and the service outstanding. They also had live music, and it was great!
I made reservations for Valentine’s Day. We were seated at 815pm and bread was brought to the table at 9:00pm. Our meal followed around 930pm. At this point we would have left, but it was Valentine’s Day. We ordered the filet medium. When it arrived it was very well done and hard to chew. They had no steak knives, not that you should need one for a filet, but it honestly was like a chewy roast. The carrots that came with the dish hadn’t been cooked and were very hard. For dessert we ordered the chocolate cake. I promise we are not difficult people, but there is no mistaking Betty Crocker brownie mix. I grew up on the stuff!
The couple beside us had sent their steaks back twice and had caused a bit of a scene. It was Valentine’s Day and we enjoyed our wine so I chose not to complain. I think it’s safe to say the place simply struggles. The meal came to $140 for the two of us. It simply wasn’t even close to that quality. Honestly, it didn’t reach Texas Roadhouse quality.
The house was very pretty and made for a nice atmosphere. I would suggest maybe getting a drink in the bar sometime if you’re visiting, but would say with everything in me, stay away from the restaurant.
We had an awesome Valentine’s dinner, but we don’t think the food lived up to its $55/person price tag. Also, the staff was super courteous, but the pace of the meal was a little slow for us, about 15 to 20 minutes between each course.
Food to table after 40 minutes and was burnt when it came. Service slow to react to additional drinks. The setting is not conducive to a live band it was way to noisy
We had a fabulous three course meal during restaurant week. The mussels were the best I have ever had. We both had the filet mignon entree and creme brulee for dessert. The service was also outstanding!!
Best menu for restaurant week! Everything we ordered was delicious. Steak was perfectly cooked. Pulled pork melt was exceptional! Hope they keep it on the regular menu. And
although the service was slow for the number of guests dining, the wait staff were friendly, familiar with the menu choices, and were helpful with recommendations. We've always enjoyed great food at the Inn, and this most recent visit confirmed its still one of our favorites in Fredericksburg.
We were wowed by the food and service. Every part of our meal was delicious. Our server was attentive and even anticipated our needs. We have already recommended and will definitely go back.
We thought we would be sitting in the dining room and specifically asked for a table in the front dining room. The website shows photos of the "dining rooms" but apparently all restaurant dining is in the basement. Not the atmosphere we were looking for. Should be clearer in the description.
Also, service was very slow. 45 mins for an appetizer, another 30 for dinner. There were no other diners in our room so it did not appear they were busy. Had to get up to find our server at one point to get a second glass of wine.
We has been here for a company Christmas party a few weeks earlier and had a very nice impression of the place. Maybe better for events than as a restaurant.
We found this place by searching on Google for a restaurant in Fredericksburg. What a gem we found. Cozy atmosphere, excellent food, exceptional service and a great cocktails. The scallops were huge and cooked to perfection. The men got the short ribs and pasta and loved it too. After our meal, we sat at the bar and tried different cocktails which were all really good. The people here are very friendly. We will definitely come back and also tell our friends.
The food was very good but the service was exceedingly slow especially for early on a night where the restaurant wasn't busy. The patio was nice but the mosquitoes were bad. Overall a bit disappointing.
Kenmore Inn is a hidden jewel in a town otherwise barren for upscale dining.
Loved the setting. The food was subpar though. We had high hopes and were underwhelmed. The watermelon salad looked like it was just thrown on the plate, the gazpacho had very little taste and the filet mignon was overcooked (although it was a nice cut of meat). We didn't get dessert given we weren't impressed with the meal. I would recommend going to the bar or sitting outside for a drink but for the price, there are better tasting restaurants in the area.
Although we knew that we would be eating on the lower level, we never expected the restaurant to actually be in the basement. Even with a wall of windows, it felt dark and dungon like. It would be better suited to serving bar food.
My mother, sister, and I were hunting for a quiet but special place to have dinner, since we were only reunited for one night and had a lot of catching up to do. Being last-minute on an extremely busy Saturday night, we went to several restaurants and were turned away. We stumbled across this gem, and what a wonderful experience it was! Sit outside - the atmosphere is quiet, cozy, and charming out there, and the live music can still be enjoyed, without it being too loud for conversation. Would definitely visit here again!
Blown away by how good this place has become. Food is fresh and wonderfully delicious. They source ingredients from local farmers. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones my grandma in WV would grow. Can't wait to go again!
We ate in the courtyard, because the inside dining areas were quite noisy. Glad we did, as the weather was just wonderful and the ambiance delightful. The choices for Restaurant Week were very good-- 4 of us each got a different entrée, and all of them were delicious.

We had a reservation & were seated as soon as we arrived. Our server greeted us & took our drink orders then disappeared. After 5 or 10 minutes, a group of seven arrived & was seated @ a table near us. They placed drink orders & WERE SERVED BEFORE US. We didn't order anything strange (I had the 'special' cocktail & my husband a beer), so this was really frustrating. My husband actually went over to the bar (our server was no where in sight) & we finally got our drinks. Our food order was taken & food was served, but I'm afraid our server wasn't please with us & she didn't apologize for our sitting @ the table drinking water (that our hostess provided) for TWENTY minutes (while the diners near us who arrived & ordered drinks AFTER us enjoyed their cocktails). We have always enjoyed this restaurant, but aren't planning to return.
Beautiful, and in-town location. The food is always delicious, and the courtyard gives the feeling of being in a European town.

Went for a wedding anniversary. Ended up being restaurant week. Very disappointed in almost every way. Nice ambiance and outdoor patio. Menu was lackluster and the food subpar, even taking into account restaurant week. Took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine when there were, maybe, 7 other tables. Will not be back
The scallops were very good and the salad was fresh. The waiting staff was a little sluggish, took a while to get our glasses refilled and to have condiments brought to the table. Beautiful setting and love the historic building.
We were greeted at the door and escorted to our table. We enjoyed the tail end of a instrumental quartet. Our drinks came quickly. We had the opportunity to enjoy the restaurant week menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the grilled watermelon, prosciutto, arugula salad. The braised short ribs with green beans and mashed potatoes were fantastic. The trio of desert samples of key lime pie, bread pudding, and white chocolate mouse were perfect. We had attentive service that gave us time to enjoy each course.
The inn is beautiful, our meal was delicious and our server was great.
The restaurant is locatedin the basement. It is charming. The menu, while not extensive, is full of fresh ingredients and delicious. We had shrimp and grits and chicken with polenta. Both meals were excellent!
The Hostess, waitress, and chef/sous chef were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The dishes we selected were some of THE BEST dinners we've ever tasted! The overall dining experience made our Anniversary Celebration that much more special. Many thanks to the Kenmore Inn staff!
