Ken Stewart's Grille Ratings and Reviews
This place has really gone downhill. From being one of the top restaurants in the Akron area to a place with bad service and poorly prepared food. This is the second time in a row our steaks we completely under cooked. Instead of sending them back like we did last time I chose to eat around the rare part. Our server was very rude and had little knowledge of how steaks are prepared. Not worth the $150 for a meal. Much better places to spend your money. What a shame.
Fist visit to Ken's and by far the best food one has had! Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and right on top of making our evening delightful! The whole experience will be one that I do hope that I can have the opportunity to do again! Great job to all involved in our experience!
John was a fantastic waiter! We’ve been to many restaurants that are 5 Star. He read his Table well and new with us he could have fun with us. The best part of the night was when he brought each of the couples at my table a bottle of wine to take home. It’s a Ken Stuart’s private label! Excellent wine! Great experience over all!
My husband and I went there for 30 wedding anniversary. The waitress and food service was great! I had the seafood trio of lobster, scallops and crab cake. Best lobster I’ve ever had. My husband had the trio of filets. Ordered medium but was more medium rare. Other than that, the food and service was wonderful! Would definitely go back.
Noisy, there were 2 tables with 5 noisey kids. Did not really want to listen to that. My chicken was very dry. Not really pleased with the experience. This is unfortunate because we haven't been there gorgeous years and we're both
Really looking forward to it. Probably will not return....
Bad experience at an iconic Akron restaurant. Friday evening after a 90 minute visit (during which we had 2 appetizers and 2 martinis) we still hadn't been served our entrees (double order of crab legs) even though we ordered them at the same time as the apps. Needless to say, enough was enough! We threw $80.00 on our table (to more than cover what had actually been served to us) and walked out. As we almost reached the parking lot, the hostess came running out and shouted "Your food's almost ready!" ALMOST! REALLY? After an hour and a half, no thanks! Needless to say, we kept on walking!
The service at KSG is always outstanding. The food is generally very good too, except (and I'm sorry to say this) the steak is never as good as it should be for the price. For some reason I always order steak when I go there and I should know better by now. I've had the strip, the cowboy ribeye, and the filet. They're always prepared how I request but the flavor is always just okay. If I'm paying $55 for a prime steak I want it to taste like a $55 prime steak. I'll go back, but I need to make a mental note to order something else next time.
The food was great but way over-priced. $10 for a side of brussel sprouts, asparagus, or cauliflower? $24 for dollars for a glass of scotch that only runs $60 a bottle? And $70 for a pound of king crab legs? I've spent far less at upscale restaurants in Chicago, New York City, and London. In addition, there was a table full of men saying gross/raunchy things while we were eating, such as asking for hair pie for dessert. If they are going to allow that kind of atmosphere then they should be charging less for everything. Like I said, the food was good, but not worth the price or worth dealing with trashy customers.
We started going to Ken Stewart's 22 years ago. We live in Toledo now and took our teenage sons to this restaurant. It is still as good if not better than when we first started eating here. By far one of the best restaurants for service, food quality and atmosphere in the United States!! Everything was perfect: menu, food, timing of appetizer, salad and entrees. We will be back.
Sometimes you can spend a lot of money for dinner and think, "Wow, that certainly wasn't worth I just paid." Well, that's not the impression that KSG leaves you with.is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes-- every penny. If you want to know what a 30 day aged steak tastes like... If you want to eat at an expensive American steakhouse, but uncertain about the location..... If you want superb service...if you want every detail of the evening and dinner to be correct.... Ken Stewart's Grille is the place. No regrets, will be back. Two people, coctails, wine steaks, sides and dessert =$250 after tip. Save your money boys and take her there.
To me, the stand out is the service at Ken Stewart's. It takes real skill to be able to provide first class service as well as memorize very complex menu offerings. I dine out a lot, and our server was absolutely outstanding. It was quite dark in the restaurant. I would not let that keep me away from this very fine restaurant -- but I felt that I had to give them 3 stars on "ambience." I marked "value" at four stars, because even though the food was fabulous, it is a pricey night out -- and just right for a special occasion. BTW, it is absolutely possible to eat healthy and well here -- lots of menu options and very accommodating.
