WE liked the outdoor seating. Comfortable and quaint. Food served hot. Best Creme- Brulee.
Date night with friends- great food and service!
Worst prime rib we have ever had, tough, flavorless, full of gristle. Soup was bland, service was slow and we were left waiting 20 plus minutes for our tab.
They had heated tents out back. Food was good, service was great!
Oh how times have changed. First time back since 2019. Not bad but not great. The food was lacking something. Hope the chef learns how to bring back the good tasting food
We were visiting Durango for our Fall Break and asked for recommendations of a place to eat at the Durango Welcome Center. They said to go to Ken and Sue's because it was the best. So we made a reservation at Ken and Sue's for our last night. Our table was in the window--so beautiful! We had a fantastic server (Leah) who was as proud of working at Ken and Sue's as someone else would be to serve as a United States Senator. I LOVE to see that in a place of business! No one should work somewhere they're not proud to work! Our dinner was scrumptious--we couldn't finish, but somehow, Leah talked us into dessert--Creme Brûlée! Neither of us had ever had it, and it was DELICIOUS! After all of that deliciousness, we waddled out to our car and promptly fell into bed at our hotel!!! We flew home the next day and didn't even bother eating ALL DAY LONG! Don't miss Ken and Sue's!
Great food. CjJ was wonderful waitress. Great mojita martini
Potstickers were tasty. Loved the seared tuna with Asian slaw-great flavors. Will definitely visit again. Make sure to get a reservation.
Our server was great. Hostess seemed very unhappy. Food was average this time. Steak was overcooked and potatoes were room temperature. The martinis were delicious.
Sarah was our waitress, she was attentive and excellent. Service was slower than usual but I’m sure that was due to shortage of staff so totally understandable.
Food was excellent as always. Overall a very consistent great experience. We’ll be back!
Pleasant, friendly, good food; need a reservation, however (social distancing).
I’ve eaten at Ken & Sues several times over the past few years. Unfortunately, the food is just not as good as it used to be. I had their sea scallops special with smashed potatoes and it was disappointingly bland. My husband had the meatloaf and smashes potatoes which were similarly without much flavor. Salt helped. Earlier in the summer I got a meatloaf dish to go and it was so disappointing. Not sure what’s going on but I’d love to see this restaurant return to their days of great food. By the way, CJ was our server and she was fantastic. Also, the coconut lemon drop martini was excellent.
Excellent food followed by excellent service. Will definitely be back!!
This restaurant was recommended to us by several people, so we had to go! Dinner was amazing and the staff was welcoming and friendly. If we lived in Durango, we would definitely go again and again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Ken and Sue’s. The ambience and intimacy were perfect. We had the Tempura Shrimp Satay, Caesar Salads and perfectly cooked filet with spinach, oven dried tomatoes and potato lasagna. We ordered Creme Brûlée to go and it was fabulous. Our server, Sarah, was sweet, yet very professional and attentive. We will visit Durango again and Ken and Sue’s will be a must!
We are very fond of Ken&Sue’s. This time we tried the calamari. It was delicious and prepared with cabbage slaw. Exceptional dish.
It is always a pleasure to dine at Ken and Sue’s with great food, service, and value!
Fine dining at reasonable prices. Best meal we have had after 30 days in the road. We each ordered a seafood meal which was simply delicious. Plan ahead to get a reservation.
Never disappointed. Exceptional service, outstanding food.
Ken & Sue's is our favorite place in Durango. Filet's were perfectly cooked. Loved the calamari slaw and tempura shrimp appetizers. Our waitress was excellent. Hope the apple tart dessert returns to the menu soon.
Service was excellent by Will, had 3 prime ribs and 1 filet, 2 prime ribs good, 1 prime rib and filet were not tender and tough to chew
The best Salmon that I've ever eaten. The next night we returned and we ordered the pot stickers, the shrimp and rice bowl and the Ahi Tuna, again all were perfect.
This restaurant is one of our favorites in Durango. It is very consistent in quality and value. They make the best Martini's in town. Grouper is delicious and we really enjoy the meatloaf. Two thumbs up. Very reliable for an excellent evening. Service - due to Covid - is still pretty amazing. Do wish they would bring their bread basket back though.
Our server CJ was EXCELLENT!!! The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is perfect! We ALWAYS HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ken and Sue’s!!!
I am a fan of Ken and Sue’ since I have lived in the area. I have never had a disappointing meal and the ambiance is Inviting. Menu items are priced reasonable. No i g but good things to say.
Great food and friendly staff
Great food, prepared well. Wine list is priced right. Will go back when in town.
Ken and Sue's never disappoints. We had great food and great service. It was a misty cool evening and we sat outside in the tent with the heater. Great ambience.
I had the pistachio crusted grouper. The sauce was unexpectedly sweet. Not a fan of the sauce. The rest of the meal was excellent finished with the creme brûlée.
The main course was exceptional !
Should have stopped there , got dessert and was really disappointed .
Creme brûlée was just pudding in a cup . Cheesecake was dry and chewy .
Exceptional food and service. We were outside in a tent which was perfectly fine, warm, dry, & quiet - maybe too quiet as we were the only ones there. Would have liked a bit more energy & liveliness.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the service was great!
The sever was nice, new but nervous. The steak was the worse I’ve had. It was so fatty and full of gristle. My two friends ordered filet too and none of us would eat them. Limited desert . We all agreed that we would not go back. May have been an off night but it was Thursday so should have been better.
Always wonderful! We Enjoy sitting outside and the food is always wonderful. They also have wonderful cocktails.
I love ken and Sue’s and our waitress Madeline was absolutely the nicest person ever, very engaging. The food was great and one of the owners, Sue, walked us to our table and we had a nice chat.
Food was excellent as usual as was the service. We were seated next to the door and entrance so noise with kids and talking was an annoyance. But we will be back next time in Durango as we absolutely enjoy the salmon.
Meatloaf and salmon were delicious. Add the creme brulee for dessert too! And, ask for Britt.
So glad we were once again able to dine at Ken & Sue’s. Consistently good food and service. We always recommend to others and we of course will be back.
The food was so bad that I asked whether Ken and Sue were still there. The tiny wedge salad had only tiny pieces of tomato, no bacon, and a giant glob of blue cheese dressing. Bread is discontinued. The appetizer, recommended by waitress, was oversalted. But the worst part was the filet mignon ordered medium rare. It arrived charred with a thick black crust outside, and completely uncooked inside. The heat had not touched the interior; it was raw. We asked to have it cooked more, and what came back was a new plate with an even more charred exterior and overcooked interior. We hardly ate any of our appetizer or entree (which came with wilted spinach blobs). Waitress (new on the job) ignored our obvious distaste for the meal. But, oddly, they have one of the best selections of wines by the glass anywhere. So drink here and eat elsewhere!
consistently great food at unbeatable price. In any big city the cost would be at least twice as much and the food would not be any better
