Beautiful restaurant! Friendly waiters and Great food!!! I initially bought a groupon and been back 3 times since!
Everything was A+ from food to service (Bryan) and cleanliness.. Highly recommend.. we are going again this Sunday.
Service was painfully slow. Even after we got apologies for the delay in serving our meals I had to go looking for the waitress to pay the bill. We were there over 2 hours.
The 3-course business lunch is a great value at $30, especially considering the K Street address and the wide range of fresh fish. One standout in particular is the calamari appetizer... melts in your mouth. The service was very attentive and the ambiance elegant but understated. Finally a restaurant where you can hear your companions speak without raised voices.
It was okay
I had a groupon for brunch. Excellent value! the first course and the dessert were top quality. The main dish was average. However the bottomless mimosa made this a GREAT deal! Love it! Staff were helpful and great too.
Expensive. Good food. Completely disconnected hostess. Quality of service does not match the price tag.
Unique and fresh food. If you want fish, you pick it out off the ice pile and they grill it. Sustainable varieties flown in fresh from Greece, expertly prepared. Highly recommend. Would go again when I visit DC. Great for business or couples dinner.
The food was so so. Next time would not order the shrimp linguine. It was kind of a boring dish for brunch. Bland. Baklava was good. Looked up the bottomless champagne brand for brunch. It was approx. $5 per bottle . We didn't feel so great the next day.
Terrific as usual!
I must say I was a little disappointed with the restaurant. We were there for the Prix Fixe brunch. The ambiance and service was great. My bloody mary, and soup were quite good, but my main course, shrimp linguine was pedestrian. My friend had an excellent virgin mojito initially, but the second was not nearly as good as it lacked something that was in the first one. She felt her appetizer, spanakopita, tasted only of spinach. Her entree, lump crab burger, was fine (she admits she was missing the Old Bay seasoning!!). Desserts, baklava and galaktoboureko, were really, really good.
I see it is known for its seafood. You may want to stick with that and/or more traditional Greek selections.
The service was very slow and unattentive. The restaurant was very slow and yet we had to wait for drinks and food.
The food was average at best and not worth the price, at all.
Great place to have brunch!!! Good food and great service.
Last minute but very good choice on my part. Excellent bread, olives, hummus and olive oil. Parsini salad was light and full of flavor. The steak was outstanding! Great service.
Very good service and food. Setting works for casual and elegant diners.
We needed to move away from the performer's speakers.
Love this place. Wonderful food-- particularly appetizers and dessert. Very special.
Great place for business lunch. My "go to" place. Love the grilled shrimp salad.
We eat there all the time and the service and food are always superior.
We have been to kellari taverna a few times now for brunch. It has never disappointed! The Greek cuisine, excellent service and mimosas have consistently been on point.
Food was very good, service was very slow. One side on menu (anticipated) had been changed without changing menu, or we were given old menus, which resulted in a disappointment.
Kellari's is a favorite choice when we are meeting friends in DC. We've never been disappointed. The appetizers are delicious and filling, so recommend caution in how many you order so you don't fill up before the main course. There are always many choices of fresh fish, which the diner hand picks, and it is prepared and presented beautifully--not to mention perfectly done.
(if you prefer meat, the lamb chops look delicious, too). The cookies after the meal were an unexpected treat (it was our friend's birthday). I especially liked the baklava-type cookie, prepared without filo pastry. We'd dine at Kellari's more often if we lived closer!
Excellent kitchen. Fabulous fish. Great lunch value. Nice place with very good service. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.
We love this place. Food is always good, service attentive, and they periodically have Groupons for Lobster Dinners or Brunches that are great values.
Fresh seafood, good wine. Seafood was lightly grilled to perfection! The puff pastry dessert was light and delicate. Warm and professional service.
Great ambiance. Loved it. Highly recommend
Love it!! Go every couple months with my daughter. Always a non rushed relaxing atmosphere.
Glad I tired during restaurant week will go back for seafood.
My new favorite lunch spot in DC. Grilled octopus is my go to staple.
Great food. Good ambiance. Perfect for business lunches/ dinner while downtown for events.
Service could have been slightly more attentive.
I down graded the service slightly because there was a little wait between courses. But because the company was so good it was only mildly bothersome. I would recommend it wholeheartedly
We went for restaurant week and found the menu and value outstanding. We'll definitely go back.
Great atmosphere! We enjoyed the meal. The brunch was confusing to only have two breakfast items available so it's really just a lunch.
Birthday dinner. Not up to our expectations
The food was good but not spectacular. I went for restaurant week and got food that is normally on the menu.
Excellent food and very engaging servers.
Impeccably prepared, very high quality foods. The BEST baklava I have ever had. Wait staff was excellent.
Food was delicious!
We were extremely disappointed with the food and expense of this restaurant. We had an assortment of dips, spanakopita, and the fresh catch of the day. None of the dips were even marginally good. Cava dips from Whole Foods are better. The fresh catch was over cooked to the point of being dry and bland. For the amount they charge per pound, this was unacceptable. The only saving grace was that the service was good as was my company. We will not return.
First time here and was given a groupon for 2 people for $50. What a bargain for brunch. Unlimited mimosas and a very nice 3 course menu to choose from. Loved my Cellar salad and also my crab cake. Kids had pasta and my dining mates had a burger, baklava and a mixed appetizer platter. Everyone loved their food. Would definitely go back. Easy to park as well.
Great service. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us helpful hints about the wine, the fresh fish and the cost of the items. Best fresh fish and seafood in town! The Madagascar King shrimp are grilled to perfection. I strongly recommend them.
Glad that I tried KT using a groupon because I would have been upset paying full price to dine there. Service was pretty good but food was quite disappointing. I ordered the salmon with polenta cake, which was decent, but it was served on top of a tomato sauce that tasted like jar marinara. The sauce really threw off the rest of the dish. Would have been much better without the sauce or possibly with a different sauce. I also ordered a side of the roasted lemon potatoes, they were not roasted at all. They were not tender at all and looked/tasted like they had maybe been boiled for a few minutes but definitely not roasted.
