A New York classic with some serious meat dishes that is not touristy and not boring.
Venerable steakhouse is looking a little worse for the wear. But fortunately, the meat is still first rate. And that's what matters.
We had such an amazing time. I wish I could figure out how they made their mushroom gravy. Never had anything like it and I LOVED it! Someone send me the recipe!!
I love this place. It's one of the classic old NYC steak houses, but the chicken salad is amazing. Order the "old" or "original" bloody Mary mix. It's much better. And have a chocolate sundae.
Great Food and Great Service !!!!
Enjoyed the milieu
Perfect nyc institution. full of history and I belive the best steak in the city
All time favorite. Great food, good for any occasion, pre garden events, business, romantic, bar, group whatever just ask and they have the spot for you. Love it.
Mutton! Mutton! Mutton! Mutton! Mint Jelly! Mutton!
Great service in an old school steak house. Fantastic steaks and chops of course.
In my humble opinion, the best steakhouse in Manhattan by far. Great aged steak selection; robust "non-meat" menu with many great alternatives. Great service in a mid-20th century atmosphere. Highly recommended
every steak fan should try this place. one of a kind for its decor plus excellent food.
For visitors to NYC, this is a classic. For New Yorkers, this is as good as it gets.
Food is on point and very reasonably portioned/priced for its location and history. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, and the restaurant takes pride in its history. Make sure to take a look at the pipe collection near the entrance. The restaurant has all the standard steakhouse fare, but don't sleep on the mutton chop, which is cooked like steak and is something unique.
I went here with my mom for a mom and daughter night out. Keen's is known for food and with no surprise it was good. I know you have to have a mutton chop here but we saw gentlemen seating next to us eating mutton chops and decided it was too much for us, so we had other steaks. My mom is not a big fan of steak but she liked it very much. Service was good and the interior was interesting. I'll definitely go back and try mutton chop next time :)
Keen's is one of my favorite New York restaurants, especially for special occasions including getting together with friends I haven't seen in quite a while. The food is always excellent, the dining rooms are quite special and the service is a tutorial for similar high-end establishments. The past few times with a group we have had the waiter help us order a selection of dishes that we have shared. Add a few sides and every meal has become a wonderful experience.
My favorite neighborhood steakhouse (I work just three blocks away!). Their legendary mutton chop makes you keep coming back again and again. We always take our visiting dignitaries here for lunch and dinner and they rave about the experience. Truly one of the best steakhouses in New York City. Older than Peter Luger's!
Old world charm. Great steaks. Love the lunch salads too.
Great steak near to MSG. There is an awesome historical vibe in this area that is undergoing transformation
Always fun--- a real glimpse of vintage NYC. Great atmosphere, and one of the better options for steak lovers in Manhattan,
great steaks and nice/quiet atmosphere - felt cozy
Wonderful ambiance, service and food. Great location!
Perfect birthday dinner. Great food, great service, great ambiance. Pricey but worth it.
Descent but not exceptional. Old and tired decor. Food is gird but on the high side.
Quintessential NYC steak house - great service, great ambiance, great food
Great food and service. Would definitely come back with family.
Good food...grandson had an awesome ny strip steak. Only negative was eating in the pub. Thought we'd have a nice, early pre-show dinner but pub was very noisy and crowded. No one was being seated in the restaurant.
This is my favorite steakhouse in NYC. Great old world atmosphere, professional service an exceptional porterhouse and prime rib.
Essential nyc steakhouse, dont let peter lugar fool you, and dont underestimate the power of mutton
I want to love this place but I don't. It's always just a little off food wise- too salty or too bland- but it has a fabulous vibe and real old school feel. It's a quintessential NYC steakhouse.
A NYC original. Lunch at Bar always a good call. Service attentive. cocktails with the homemade ginger Ale a true treat. sandwiches worthy but sometimes the chops are in order. Vintage and Timeless NYC all in one.
A friend had the best steak of her life. I didn't think Dover Sole could be so delicious! The white wine was chilled to perfection. Amen for well spent hard earned money!!!
Fine, a bit unusual justifying the additional midtown steakhouse.
A venerable NYC steakhouse. Expensive but excellent food, cocktails and service.
Great meal for a 30th birthday celebration. Made it easy for me to bring some 30 year old wines for the birthday boy
Tough to get a reservation.
1 week advance is needed.
Hard to get reservations which should tell you something. Sometimes you can luck out and get a table in the bar but don't count on it. Amazing prime rib. Most steakhouses don't serve prime rib but serve rib steaks. Keens serves prime rib but no ribsteaks. Go figure. Great service, ambience, and a tab that reflects it. If you have drinks/wine and three courses you're going to drop $300-400 without even trying. But Keens is the best steakhouse in the City and being in business over 100 years should tell you something. Especially in a city as demanding as New York.
Top tier cocktails, excellent steakhouse favorites like fried onion shreds (not rings), great soups, and attentive but unobtrusive friendly service. Good and reasonable wine list, too
Delicious steaks! Large piece of prime rib which was well seasoned, juicy and perfectly cooked.
Had dinner with my husband at this restaurant. The food was great and the ambiance was perfect for our date night.
Overpriced affected nonsense. Typical New York restaurant.
