One diner said it was the best restaurant meal she had in a long time. Wants to go back. Loved the mahi-mahi special with citrus sauce!
We all enjoyed the great food and warm hospitality. Also felt safe dining here during Covid.
This was the best restaurant we visited on the Big Island. Delicious food, reasonable prices for the high quality, and great service and ambience.
We dine at the Keei Cafe when ever we are in Kona. It is the best, most consistent restaurant o the Kona side of the island. It is family owned, and very friendly. And the food is exceptional. By far the best restaurant!!!
Delicious food, charming ambience, sunset view, great vibe
We love the menu here -- it's much more creative than most places. For example, my husband had the rabbit that was wrapped in prosciutto; he said it was delicious.
The special drink menu is also creative. I'd be happy going here every weekend! (and mid-week, too)
The food was great as well as the service I will definitely be going back again.
Again, one of the best meals on the island. Had #4 seared Ahi and Warm Lava Flow for dessert. Just a #1 place.
Fantastic stop away from the crowds of Kona. Wonderful food and friendly service, perched atop a beautiful romantic second-floor deck while serenaded by the local wildlife. Keei Cafe was among our favorite stops during our vacation on the Big Island.
Fun place….. good food
We went for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Tables were spaced out appropriately and the staff was very attentive. The food was very good, catch of the day outstanding and reasonably priced.
Dinner was great! The only problem is the wine selection on the menu is incorrect. Service was excellent too. Dessert was amazing! she recommended the lilikoi cheesecake and i thought it would be like all the others, but it wasn't. It was amazing! I'd definitely be back!
Great menu, nice presentations and fresh ingredients. The catch of the day in the lemon butter sauce was wonderful!
Their food was really good except Poke in the poke nachos was a little too sweet. I liked better if it was more traditional poke flavor with sesame oil and sea salt. Mahi-mahi dish was excellent. Melt in the mouth and perfectly cooked. Service was a little slow, but it was acceptable. We had a reward card from Open Table, but the server didn’t know how to process it so it was a little disappointed, but overall, great food and value. We also enjoyed live music.
Went here with my parents on a Saturday night out. Haha lovey meal with great music. The restaurant was packed when we got there but had our table ready. Service was great, just took a few to get the initial order out. The seared ahi is a must! As is the chocolate lava cake. So great!
Great variety offered on the menu. We had rabbit and mahi-mahi Both were excellent.
Good service, great food. It was very busy but we enjoyed ourselves very much.
The food and service at Keei Cafe continues to be fantastic. I was a bit miffed, however, that their website menu lists items that are no longer available, and the prices for items still on the menu are nearly half the prices being currently charged. I am of the opinion that it is far better not to have any online presence at all than to have a terribly outdated site that isn’t maintained.
Aloha Eric What website did you use? Our updated menu can be seen on mhme.nu/lp/keeicafe Hope this is helpful!
Fresh, delicious localvore food delivered in a friendly, way! Nice wine list too.
Service was very good considering only two people staffed the entire dining room. Service is very friendly. The food was very good as is the ambience of the dining room. We both had the fish of the day which was well prepared; our dining companions had the half chicken which is really delicious. We’re planning to return next week!
We heard such great things about Keei Cafe and really wanted to like it but were disappointed in the food, service and LOUD coqui frog chirping to the point that we couldn’t hear our conversation. We ordered the poke nachos which were the best part of the meal and the shrimp & scallop salad which wasn’t anything special and lacking in flavor but worst of all was the Cioppino stewS which were a bland tomato Soup with NO flavor, herbs, onion, garlic whatsoever. The server never checked on us after delivering the tasteless meal.
Favorite restaurant on the Kona Coast!
Great food and everything is done so right!
We waited such a long time for their reopening after closure during the height of the pandemic. The food is as excellent as ever. We will be back again and again. Love it!!
Arrived one hour prior to our reservation time and were promptly seated anyway. Cozy island feel once inside. Entrees including ahi tuna with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables were fantastic as was superb table service. Really good comfort food and much needed break from much higher prices at resorts. Save room for the foster bread pudding - it was unbelievably delicious!
Best restaurant meal we've had in a month on Hawaii. Charming low key atmosphere, cheerful, attentive staff, excellent food at a very good value. Highly recommended.
My Birthday dinner 🌺😘 incredible food, loved Mika our server 🥰 & the Lillikoi cheesecake ❤️👏❤️👏best anywhere!!
Parking was a challenge to get out of. We parked in back and was in a marked spot however upon departure a SUV partially blocking driveway.
We sat on the slopping balcony at sunset. Vegetation in way of a potentially beautiful view.
Food was excellently prepared and flavorful. (Mahi mahi and steak)
Service was good.
We enjoyed the food and ambiance very much. The only issue was there seemed to be only 1 waiter for the whole restaurant so there were issues. We ordered the catch of the day specials which arrived after 30 minutes and we had to request the appetizer that hadn’t come (eggplant rolls, which were delicious). Our orders kept getting mixed up with those of the adjacent table all night and we were never asked if we wanted another glass of wine (which we would’ve declined as there were people waiting and we were likely overdue to turn our table over). It was busy and all the tables were full. Would definitely try again but we’re hoping they just had a sick call that night and they don’t staff the restaurant like that all the time!
Great food, ambiance and service! It a great find! Note, if you go during dusk hours, be sure to spray up as mosquitoes are plentiful!
We had a great time as first timers highly recommended
We will be back!
The best food we have had on the island ! Fresh, flavorful, creative. The atmosphere of this place is so peaceful. The menu is wonderfully diverse without being fussy. Immensely enjoyed every bite.
Friends took us to Keei Cafe last week as a thank you for watching their house. We didn’t realize they had reopened after shutting down during the pandemic. It is just as beautiful and friendly as ever. Plus they have expanded their menu and take credit card. Beware that if you use a credit card you will be charged 3.5%.
They still have local fish now with several preparation choices. The seafood pasta now has a pesto choice besides the tomato sauce. New is rabbit and duck breast. Both are hard to find on me yes in Kona.
The appetizer choices are also creative and good to share.
To honor my husband on Veterans Day we chose to go back to Keei Cafe one week after the visit with our friends. It is definitely one of our favorite restaurants.
We love Keri Cafe and are so happy it re-opened! It is our favorite restaurant in South Kona. Friendly staff, consistently great food and a wide varieties of wines.
Very fresh and delicious food. Family owned and run. Excellent service.
Wonderful family owned business- friendly service and wonderful food!
Best seared ahí I’ve eaten, in a light and delicious lilikoi butter sauce. Super fresh vegetables, gently treated. We plan to return in the next couple of days, it was SO good. Good value, too!
Beautiful setting, great food and excellent service. We have been here multiple times and always a great experience.
We went for a friend’s birthday. He said he hadn’t had so much fun at dinner out in a long time. The food was excellent, as always. We do miss the second musician though. We hope he’s okay.
Excellent food choices and quality at fair prices. Service a bit slow but courteous. Great family atmosphere
A great meal, good variety on the menu, the ahi poke nachos were terrific, and they made a good martini.
