KC American Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The ritz cracker covered grouper and sea bass were outstanding . The service was fine but server not very friendly or accommodating. The restaurant was noisy and not very relaxing or appealing. Seafood was very expensive but worth the price. Salads were quite small for the price.
We had not been here for 2 years and glad we returned. Food was great and service was friendly and helpful. Could not make up our mind on wine selection so our waiter offered us a taste of 2 different ones which was fun and helped us make a decision on a very good Malbec.
First time back since the remodel. Wood floors are now bare, ceilings high, open and exposed, no sound-deadeners anywhere. It was MUCH to noisy to carry on a conversation with just two of us; I can’t imagine going there with more people if the goal is to catch up and share conversation. The food was good but VERY expensive. There are other local restaurants to choose from at those prices; we will go elsewhere next time.
When we arrived for our reservation I asked for a booth.
We got the booth and it was very quiet there.
But since we basically opened the place, as people arrived the noise level got higher.
Sitting in a booth by a wall did make a GOOD difference.
The food was excellent as was the service.
A tad expensive though.
I would recommend it.
Outstanding quality food, creatively and expertly prepared along with professional service without equal. It doesn't get any better than KC's American Bistro....our party of 3 enjoyed the rack of lamb , grouper and sea bass each with imaginative and delicious accompaniments.
Can't wait to return.
We found this restaurant to be good but not great. Food was tasty but the portions limited.
Didnt see the value. 2 people ordered short ribs, they were full of fat. There was an up charge for everything . Ahi Tuna was fresh and cooked properly but again very small portion.
I cant see myself returning..
The food was exceptional, very delicious, and with a great variety of dishes. The staff seemed new and inexperienced. The atmosphere was nice but the noise level was very high, as it was difficult to carry a conversation. Please note that it was very crowded on the night that we had dinner. At other times, when not as crowded, the noise level is acceptable.
One of my favorite up-scale restaurants in Naples, the food is always interesting, well-prepared, and attractively plated at KC American Bistro. The menu is not large, but there is a great variety of seafood and meat, with several of the dishes having different regional flavors. The service is attentive but not intrusive. KC usually comes around to chat with diners. My only regret is that as the restaurant has become better known and appreciated, they expanded their space and the bar is not as intimate as it used to be and the noise level is fairly high. That said, I would highly recommend the restaurant. I particularly love the honey-truffle butter (makes it worth the calories to have the freshly baked bread). Diver scallps on mushroom risotto is my go-to meal there.
KC American Bistro used to be a very classy place to dine. The food was and is still very good but the atmosphere has turned what once was a 4-5 star restaurant into a 1-2 star. They replaced the carpet with hardwood, they removed the divider to cram in more tables, and they added noise-bouncing mirror to one whole wall. From the OpenTable reviews the noise complaints have been reported since October 2017 with promises that "sound-reducing" pictures had been ordered. It looks like KC has opted to replace class with greed. It's a shame because we really enjoyed this restaurant but we didn't even stay for dessert and coffee so we could get out to the strip mall parking lot for some peace and quiet.
One of our favourite restaurants in the greater Naples area. Nice friendly staff from the hostesses, waiters/waitresses and even the bus staff! Good meal ( excellent grouper and beef short rib! Kale Caesar best I’ve had anywhere. Carpet has been swapped out for an attractive wood floor, which had raised the noise levels somewhat.
The most positive rating: This is one of the few restaurants in Naples with dining available on New Year's Eve at whatever time you choose!!! The negative: is having a waiter who pays more attention to a table of 8 one-timers rather than a local/year-round resident/repeat customers of two! SERIOUSLY.....The rack of lamb was excellent---my husband's medium-rare was rare, my medium was fine. The vegetables/fennel and sautéed spinach were cold upon serving, and we couldn't get the attention of our 8-table-enamored-waiter to send then back So, all-in-all, nothing to give a negative rating for other than the usual prayers to have the snowbirds return to their Northern nests so that we can reclaim our beautiful community!
An early New Year's Eve dinner was a last minute (okay, the day before) idea and although we've lived in Naples for over 25 years, we had yet to try KC American Bistro. It is just up the road from us but for some reason, we just never thought to go there. Well, we will be back and soon! The food was unique and delicious. The servers were attentive without being intrusive. We never felt rushed although it was New year's eve and I'm sure they had a lot of reservations for later that evening. I had the duck which was amazing! My husband had the lamb and was a member of the Clean Plate Club. Dessert was orange infused creme brûlée. Yummy!
