Kazu Japanese Restaurant
7 pieces and a choice of tuna or California roll
Coconut Curry Soup
Shrimp, red onion, cilantro
Shrimp, vegetables, dipping sauce
Music was a little loud but everything else was amazing
Amazing sushi and great service! Cannot wait to go back!
Went for Valentine’s
Took 20 minutes after giving us our drinks to take our order
Took over 40 minutes to get the food (we ordered sushi/sashimi for two, so literally all they had to do was cut up fish)
We saw our food sitting at the sushi bar for quite a while
While we were waiting, the waitress barely checked in with us
Tables that sat after us got their food before us
Asked for the manager, had to wait 5-10 minutes for her to come see us
When I told her what was going on, all she said was that “We’re busy, it’s Valentine’s Day”, no apology, only got a discount after I kept pressing the issue
Excellent fresh sushi
Great food. Highly recommend for a nice date night. Loved the stuffed jalapeños and sushi was top grade.
Good food and service. We’ll go back again for dinner
Enjoyed the Tuna Lovers roll and raw Kumamoto Oysters - very tasty and enjoyable sushi. Will definitely visit again in the near future.
Kid friendly too - my kids enjoyed the bento box meal.
Excellent and ALWAYS consistent! This is our go to place.
The sushi was absolutely phenomenal. Took a while to be seated and to get a server but once she arrived she was prompt and courteous.
I had tofu dish. It was one of the best tofu combinations I have ever had. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. Will definitely be back.
Great small restaurant atmosphere and the food is very consistent!
The food ordered was lobster gyoza, shrimp and vegetable tempura and the teriyaki shrimp and teriyaki salmon entrees.
All of our food was cooked beautifully and well presented.
Service was excellent, courteous and very attentive.
Recommend on quality, value for your money, and ambiance.
I’ve been coming here since this restaurant opened and I am always glad I did.
Best sushi in Jax. Great atmosphere and wonderful owners and service!
The best sushi in Jacksonville
It’s my go to for business lunches I’m a Realtor! Love everything about the experience
Love this place!
Always fresh and delicious! Worth the drive.
We had an outstanding meal! The curry coconut soup was my favorite! We tried all kinds of sushi and the kazu fried rice and washed it all down with the black and gold saki. We are in town for a few days and will probably return before we have to go home!
The shrimp curry soup was the best every in my life.
Excellent Sushi and service. Have been eating sushi for years in San Francisco and have to say this is the best in Jacksonville.
If you enjoy sushi; you will definitely LOVE the sushi at Kazu!!
First, let me just say that I am extremely picky person. That said, I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Everything was fresh, plentiful and delicious. Our server (can't remember his name - young, vegan (he told us) man with lip rings) was excellent with full command of the menu and efficient in his service. Several of us had a sushi app (I had the three crab, yum) followed by hibachi bowls and we all loved everything we had. My husband had the hot and sour soup and the shrimp tempura. Not sure how he at it all. It was huge. Will definitely be going back here. Do not hesitate to try it.
We were tourists and came here based on the reviews of other patrons. Needless to say we're weren't disappointed and actually went to the establishment twice before leaving! The bathroom could use a good cleaning. When we arrived at 430pm the bathroom was dirty and paper was tossed around on the floor. Other than that the staff was very friendly. Kept our cups full and was quick with serving their delicious entrees.
Birthday for mom
We arrived a minute or two before 6. The lady at the front door was on the phone. Finally someone seated us. We usually like to go early for "cocktail hour." It was several minutes after 6 and tey would not give us cocktail prices. The waiter was new but gave reasonably good service. For Japanese food it seemed to be more greasy than usual but okay.
Good service and the food was even better! There are lots more sushi rolls we want to try.
Kazu has great food. excellent !!
price reasonable service wonderful !’n
We have ordered carryout sushi from Kazu several times in the past two years, but this is only the second time we have dined in the restaurant. We hosted a friend from Nashville who says she has not had any good sushi since moving away from Jacksonville. All of us enjoyed our food, especially the special sushi rolls: Black Dragon, New York, and Jaguar. The seaweed salad was more generous than many places. The coconut curry soup was delicious, but almost impossible to eat with the plastic Asian flat-bowl, high-side spoon, because the many very long tendrils of noodles kept sliding off.
Two concerns: they had no record of our Open Table reservation, but had no trouble seating us at a fairly quiet corner table. The waitress was very kind, but sadly English impaired. Our friend ordered an avocado salad and received an avocado roll instead. We sent the roll back to the kitchen and received the excellent large avocado salad, but when the bill came, both the salad and the roll were on the bill - the roll had not been removed.
All in all, a great sushi dining experience. We will return.
Kazu is our favorite sushi restaurant in Jacksonville, if not Florida. The sushi specialty rolls & the dumpling appetizers are simply terrific. Service is always attentive. And, if one eats between 4:30 & 6, the restaurant offers one regular roll free for every specialty roll ordered. Can’t beat that value.
Always wonderful hold all my business mtgs there
Food and service was good, but floor and restrooms were not clean up to a good or better restaurant’s standards.
If you're planning a romantic getaway, this is not the right place. Food was good and service too, but it's just another sushi restaurant in a strip mall.
Excellent Sushi. Fresh. Great service.
By far the best sushi in town. The rolls are big enough to share, and the sashimi and the nigiri were fresh and melted in the mouth. If you are a sushi lover, I strongly recommend Kazu.
We Really Enjoyed The Good 😀 - the employees were extremely helpful and friendly - will definitely go back
Always perfect and delicious!
Always good and fresh! HOWEVER, I had a reservation via open table and they refused to check me in and as a result I did not get my points. Note: insist they check you in before they seat you. I have called to correct the issue and as of yet has not been resolved.
Dining experience was ‘ok’ - servers were a bit over extended. Sushi was not the greatest and one piece of my roll tasted slightly ‘fishy’ which is a turn-off. I don’t live in the area and tried this restaurant based on recommendations - but I probably wouldn’t go again.
