Kaya Ratings and Reviews
We went for my husbands birthday dinner. Party of 7. My sons and my Kaya were burnt to a crisp and dry. We ordered Medium well. But it was so burnt and dry we both only had a few bites and both of us were disgusted. When the manager came by to ask us how everything tasted we told him about our burgers. The waitress returned and said they took the chips and salsa off our bill. My husband and I have been going to Kaya for years. It has always been a good experience. But I don’t know that we will ever return. Disappointed with our meals, we left hungry.
I had the pork quesadilla and it was delicious! Especially with the fancy cheese dipping sauce they give you. Wife had the paella which was a little spicy for her but was packed with chicken, shrimp, mussels, and scallops. We split the conch and corn chowder for an app and it was good but was served luke warm at best. That was probably the most negative aspect to our visit. Service was good and walked in and went right to our table since we had a reservation. Will return!
Food was very tasty, service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant ...We started with Chorizo Queeso Fundido and Conch Fritters and for our main courses I had the Crispy Fish Tacos, my wife the Grilled Salmon, my son had the Tropical Paella and I forgot what his wife had (I believe it was a stuffed hot pepper of some sort)...It was all very good...we will return...
We went here for a birthday and it was very good. We all liked all of the dishes but it was nothing special. I was a little surprised there was no mention of the birthday even though it was on the reservation and they mentioned it when they called to confirm the reservation (and we even bought multiple desserts!). I would not go here for a special occasion again. It's just a nice Pgh bar, with very tasty -but not particularly special- food.
