Located in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, Kaya is a casual, island-inspired restaurant with colorful mosaics, tribal art and exposed brick walls that whisks customers away to exotic shores as they walk through the door. Kaya serves both traditional island dishes and American favorites with an island twist. Tropas (tropical tapas) sandwiches and entrees are all made with local ingredients and bold flavors.     Service was great. There was a nice vibe even for a Monday. The only disappointment was my Jerk chicken. It was dry and I could have used a steak knife to cut through it.

    There were so many vegan options I did not feel deprived. Excellent portions, amazing flavors, and good service. Definitely worth the visit.

    Food was excellent. We got the Birria Cuban sandwich and the Salmon entree. Unique flavors and something different instead of the usual dinner at Chiles. The meat and fish were cooked perfectly. Fast service. Good music. Couldn’t ask for a better place for date night.

    Our dinner at Kaya was great! The food and service were both excellent. I had the tropical paella and my boyfriend had the al pastor chicken sandwich and both were awesome. The ambiance at Kaya was great. I was also able to navigate the restaurant on crutches.
