View was spectacular. Food was excellent and unique. Even so, it was really the service that made our night perfect. I have been to tons of restaurants all over the world, was a server myself and legitimately Frank (Francis) was the best server I have ever had. Thanks for that Frank.

The service was exceptional. They cater to your every need and they are not overwhelming. The food was great and worth the money.
Our evening here for my birthday was flawless; engaging wait staff and perfect table to enjoy the sunset.
At the appropriate moment our server, without being asked, escorted us outside to the balcony and took several great photos of us framed by the sunset, mountains, ocean and clouds.
My fiancé’s ribeye was the best, as was my opakapaka.
A wonderful complimentary dessert and excellent champagne concluded our memorable dinner.
Such good food and friendly staff. Free champagne for our anniversary! Great music and view! Definitely recommend.
Wonderful dinner, our 5 year old loved the beautiful sunset
The view at sunset was unbeatable. Background music was quiet enough to permit easy conversation. Our waiter Sequoia paced our four course tasting with wine pairing to perfection. We initially questioned the pairing of a pinot noir with the lobster course, but the seasoning of the lobster made it work. The food was excellent and the portions ample. We did not go home hungry.
This was our 26th wedding anniversary trip. Kauai Grill was intimate and perfect for our celebration. The menu was diverse and delicious, recommendations were spot on with pairings and taste. Great place for the two of you!!
The most wonderful service and food! I love that they offered to take a sunset photo for us.
Wonderful in every way!!
Service, food, ambiance was outstanding. A little hard to carry conversation but over all an awesome dinner!
We celebrated our anniversary and overall we had a fabulous dinner. Our server was very slow getting us drinks but the food was worth it.
Great spot to watch sunset followed by an amazing dinner
Requested a romantic table when booking and hostess addressed our special occasion when checking in but then proceeded to seat us at the worst table in the place.
Appeared they give preferential treatment to hotel guests, so just beware if not staying there.
Our dining experiences at the Kauai Grill are cherished because the taste and presentation of our Harumaki, Cab Filet Mignon and Caramel Sundae were impeccable thank you Executive Chef Herbert. Manager Cailon is exemplary, Anela, Chance and Pablo worked with commendable strategies to create an evening of delight for us and many satisfied guests of Kauai Grill. We wholeheartedly recommend Kauai Grill thank you kindly.
The bill was pricy but we, for sure, got our money’s worth! The food was just as good as the experience of fine dining overlooking beautiful Hanalei Bay. Thank you so much, Kauai Grill! We really hope we can come back someday!
Our last night on Kauai we wanted to have a special meal instead of the typical food truck, tiki bar dining. The Kauai grill did not disappoint us! The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. The views are spectacular of the Pacific Ocean and coast line. The sunset was visible this time of year so lots of people got up from their tables to take their pictures out on the terrace. The chef’s preparation of the dishes we ordered was perfect. There was also an amuse bouche and a glass of champagne provided compliments of the chef. I had the surf and turf done perfectly. My husband had the local fresh catch and really enjoyed the preparation too. The seating allows for private conversation. Definitely will go back!
Staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very special on our anniversary. They went the extra mile to celebrate the special occasion, but also to wish my wife a happy birthday as well. The food was just as amazing. We had the chef's tasting menu and it was honestly one of the best all around meals we have ever had. Thank you!
This was a great experience for dining and service
Waitstaff was friendly and helpful, but food was way overpriced given the price.
Amazing views and beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, Service and Food Quality were below expectations. We had the 3 course menu. Starters however, arrived before we had our first round of drinks (which we ordered only 15min after we had sat down...). Main course (fish and beef) were alright. Dessert (ice cream) was a nogo. Overall it was not great experience. There is better places with better food and service in or near Hanalei. I would recommend taking a sundowner at the St. Regis bar and to have dinner somewhere else.
We love dining at the Kauai Grill. The staff are very welcoming and professional - service is always excellent. Our waiter, Frank, was wonderful and was very accomodating to our needs. The food and beverages were excellent and the sunset view spectacular. It doesn't get much better than this. I highly recommend Kauai Grill for fine dining.
SO delicious. Worth the high price tag. We celebrated our last night in Kauai there and everything we ate was divine.
We’ve been coming back here fo years and every time it’s a great overall experience. Staff was wonderful and the food was fantastic.
The view on the veranda at sunset is fabulous. Service was excellent, very attentive. Food was good but not great.
Beautiful place but very warm sitting by the windows to see the spectacular sunset view. This restaurant needs shades to filter the sun. Music at times was way to aggressive for this high end atmosphere. Signature dish was the Maui Maui and it was over cooked.
The food was good. The best part of our meal was the roasted brussels. Magi magi and scallop dishes were good. Dessert was meh. The view was outstanding. Service too.
Very good food but pricey as it is at the St Regis. Worth the money if you love good food and wines.
This restaurant has beautiful views of Hanelai Bay. They do not have any type of shades so it was beyond bright in the dining room before sunset. The service was good. The Mahi Mahi was nice and light. The tuna was quite good as well. The salted Carmel Ice Cream sundae was good but needed more chocolate sauce. Very pricey for good not fabulous food.
The restaurant looks like it has not been refreshed since the 80’s; oddly dark after the sun sets. Not one bit of food was better than mediocre. 50 bucks for three tough and dry scallops. Kaua’i is wonderful, but this place needs a rethink.
Spectecular spot! This is our favorite restaurant in Princeville. Sweeping view of Bali Hai accompanied by well presented dishes and good services. We have dined here numerous times and it is our go to place for special occassion, birthday, anniversary...etc.
Every aspect of this meal was perfect, the food, staff, location, ambiance, everything!
Amazing food, but the service was terrible. The staff was very friendly, but for the late time of day, didn't understand why we had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our dinner. With the high prices, I expected more. Would not go back.
Astonishing views but food seemed mass produced and flavors a bit repetitive- lots of fennel and caramelized onions
Love the St Regis and the food here at the Kauai Grill is delicious. Wish they had a better sunset setup- pretty glaring.
The staff are very attentive and friendly. This was our second time at the Kauai Grill and they did not disappoint! Both times we had the tasting menu. The shrimp dish with horse radish panacotta was amazing. We also loved the foix gras with beets and anis jelly - a combination we didn't expect to love but absolutely DID! And our other favorite of the evening was the beef. It was so incredibly tender and delicious it melted in your mouth. We chose to get the wine pairings - but I'm not sure we'd do it again. The red wine with the lobster course didn't go well together for me. Next time I think I'll order glasses separately to accompany a few of the dishes. But the other wine choices were great.
The Kauai Grill wasn't quite as spectacular as we thought, but it was most enjoyable. The scallops were wonderful; my filet was a bit over cooked. Service was good. Prices are high.
After dinner, we very much enjoyed the upstairs bar/cocktail lounge. Service was excellent, as was the entertainment.
It has been our anniversary tradition when we're on Kauai - fine dining, good views of the sunset and Hanalei Bay, and a very expensive evening. The food is good, not great. Same with the service. I keep making the reservation, and the dinner is consistently good. The hotel public areas are beautiful, and the evening is fun overall.
Unfortunately my husband and I couldn’t make it before sunset so we didn’t get to see the view. The restaurant inside is nice. Nothing too special without the view other than a fancy restaurant. But the food was amazing! Probably one of the best meals we’ve ever had and we’ve dined in a lot of fantastic restaurants over the years. The Japanese sea bass was out of this world!
We wanted one “fancy” dinner while on vacation with our family in Kauai. We requested a view of the bay which we got. Unfortunately it was a dreary, rainy sunset but the view of the hillside and waterfalls was still nice. The food here was tasty. My teens couldn’t get over how “small” the food was because they are used to casual family style places. We all enjoyed our meals. Just be aware the sides are separate and can add up quickly in cost but are good for two people to share. That said, this place is not for the budget conscience. The ambiance is quiet and dark. The decor is that of a hotel restaurant. It seems like they could do an upscale island feel to match the hotel theme. Our server, Chris, was attentive. Staff was friendly. Overall, it was a good experience but nothing specific to the island or special. Probably wouldn’t return unless we were staying in the property and we wanted the convenience.
Very convinient for hotel guests, however it took a very long time for food to come out and once it finally came on the table it was cold. I had to send my steak back because it was cold.
