First the view from the Grill is exceptional. You have to see the sunset if you seat by the window. We were very impressed my husband and I with the service and the food.
It was a fabulous dinner and I have to say I was a little concerned at first because the hotel amnesties look so old and the restaurant itself a little outdated but I’m glad everything went well. Thank you Reilly for taking care of us.
The view is phenomenal! Food was good but nothing amazing. Service was fine. Prices were too high for what you get.
Overall the experience was lovely. Great food and service. The view was gorgeous and we were seated in a fantastic spot. The only downside, I’ve been charged twice on my credit card and they can’t reverse it immediately because of the credit card system they use and it is the weekend. Not the issue you want to be dealing with or worrying about on your holiday. If it wasn’t for that I would say five stars for sure.
The food and the view is exceptional. The prices are a bit excessive, so beware.
Family dinner for 8. Large table. Great service. Solid drinks. I had the surf and turf. It was legit. We all had a great time.
The food here was absolutely phenomenal. I went with the surf and turf, while my husband got a fish plate. We were both blown away by the taste of the lobster; the best either of us have had by far. Great service, everyone was very on top of things, ensuring our experience was worth the price. A little pricey, but we both agreed it was worth it.
Food was excellent and our server Billy was great.
One of the most beautiful locations in the world. Staff and views were amazing, although portions were quite small.
Ideal for a very special occasion (for me, it was my 40th birthday), the cuisine is exceptional, location ideal and romantic; however, the sun through the window with no shading left many diners around me wearing sunglasses, and me and my family vying for unblinding seats. Wearing my sunglasses ruined the beauty of my ahi tuna appetizer, and I wouldn't give up its perfect appearance to stare more comfortably at the coast. We were surprised that entrees were very a la carte; however, the flavor and appearance were delightful. The service was amiable, professional, and attentive. The cost is definitely prohibitive, but I can recommend this for a very special occasion. Lastly, it was just fine for our 8-year old. They offered a kids' menu, brought her food out early, and the atmosphere was formal enough for the occasion, but informal enough for tickle wars in the booth.
Great food and service. Was given a complimentary glass of champagne, as we were celebrating our honeymoon, which was a nice touch. My only complaint is that, for the price, the portions were small.
Amazing experience, from be waiter bringing us out in the patio for a sunset picture to the octopus, the best meal we’ve had thus far
Incredible. The food was just so delicious. The view was simply stunning. Everything about this experience was so good. Our favorite of our trip to Kauai. Just exquisite. It’s not to be missed.
Fantastic good and great service.
Great location and service. The food was good but not exceptional for the price. The sunset view is awesome.
Top notch views over Hanalei Bay; photos don’t do it justice. Allow at least 2.5 hours for a 3 course meal, and if you want to take in the sunset make sure that your reservation takes that into consideration. My wife and I went mid-week and it only got busier (and louder) around 7:45 pm. We tried the 3 course menu with wine sampling and I have to say it was incredible and well thought out. It is definitely a world class fine dining experience, and it should come as no shock to patrons that the prices are reflective of this remarkable experience.
We have been to the island five times. First time here at the location. EXCELLENT view. !!!!
Our waiter Billy was excellent. He guided us to the best items on the menu and was very patient.
We enjoyed the two tasting menus offered. While the food was very good, wine selections were not as good as I would have hoped. The prices were high ($450 for 2 people) so I expected better wines. But the portions were generous, and end result was a very good meal.
When we arrived, we let the server know we would wait for a window table (you can't request a specific table). She got us one about 40 minutes later. Wouldn't have been a big deal, but we noticed at least 3 tables had been newly sat at window tables before we were.
It was awesome!!
Excellent wine pairings with the tasting menu. They've obviously put a lot of thought into selecting which wine to go with each course. The food was well presented and innovative and the service was outstanding.
The food was amazing! It’s very expensive but an amazing setting & meal!
Food was amazing! Minimal vegetarian options, but I chose to get a few appetizer/sides instead and it worked out great. Husband got steak and truffle potatoes, and was very pleased.
We went for dinner directly after our wedding, and the server made sure he celebrated our happy time with us! I’d go again purely based on the signature drink menu. It is expensive, and I was reluctant to go at first, however after tasting the food - it was well worth it. We will go back to the bar area for some drinks and bites before we leave the island.
Beautiful view of the sunset. We were there for our anniversary, but other than greeting us as such, it was never mentioned again. Obviously, service was not that good. Food was passable, but hard to say it is the best on Kauai. Certainly not good value. And it was too noisy to have a nice conversation
This is fast becoming our favorite restaurant on the island.
The views are spectacular along with the food. The staff is professional and friendly.
It is a must visit for all who enjoy great food!!
Nice spot for a nice view and a good meal, Great service, Good food, Nice atmosphere
Can not beat the location and view. Spectacular! My steak was delicious and dessert was great.
The Kaua'i Grill at the St. Regis was the perfect place for our elopement dinner after our beach wedding ceremony! We planned on wearing our wedding dresses, but they were too sandy so we had to run home and change. We arrived 15 minutes late but they still quickly and kindly accommodated us. My wife and I received complimentary glasses of champagne since they knew we were celebrating our wedding. We both ordered the Surf and Turf, which came out perfectly. In addition, we added on the 3 dipping sauces for the steak and asparagus as a side dish. Everything was PERFECT- including the hot dinner rolls. The service was outstanding and they made us feel well taken care of and special. And, free valet parking (!!) Highly recommend!
The ambience was very nice, the service was excellent and the food was good but woefully overpriced. For example, I had the Surf and Turf (1/2 lobster and 6oz beef tenderloin) for $79.
Kauai Grill was awesome! Hubby had the rib-eye and I had the filet. You may think steak is steak, but that's not the case here. We've been to many steakhouses and this place serves steaks that can rival any one of those fine eateries. Both the scenery and our wonderful server, Chris, made this meal extra special. For dessert, Chris recommended the salted caramel ice cream sundae and the butterscotch pudding. Delicious. Butterscotch pudding might not be the obvious choice, BUT it was incredible!
My husband and I were in Kauai to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We chose Kauai Grill for our special dinner based on reviews that we had read. Kauai Grill did not disappoint! The food was amazing, the view was spectacular and the service was exceptional. Our filet was tender and seasoned perfectly. The lobster tail was cooked to perfection. The manager stopped by every table multiple times during the evening to be sure everyone was enjoying their experience. The waiter was very attentive and made good suggestions. The view of the sunset over the ocean is not to be missed. We couldn't have asked for a better evening. Thank you Kauai Grill!
Awesome experience and great food. Anela was our server and she did a fantastic job.
Went for husbands birthday. Amazing experience from food to service to views. Highly recommended.
Service is outstanding. Recommend asking for Anela to be your server. She is outstanding and accommodating to your dietary needs. We have been going there for over 9 year and have always had a great dining experience.
This restaurant has a great view, you will have to have an RSVP and come early to try to get the best seating. We were not at the window but still has a decent view.
Everything that we had was excellent. They had a vegetarian and vegan menu, which was delicious. I was able to find both an vegan appetizer and entree.
Best spot on Kauai. Hands down. Just do it. You will not regret it.
The octopus was outstanding
Service was attentive and informative
Very very loud- difficult to hear the person next to you. People did not adhere to dress
Code - baseball hats, flip flops, etc
Tasting menu was very good except the wagyu which was cooked to medium rare but was tough and difficult to cut.
Food was great and service was excellent. Restaurant was a little dark for my preference and could use some better lighting. Wine list was extensive however prices were shooting for the stars. I would come back for sure.
I’ve never before experienced scallops that were served cold for two and like warm for three with cold mashed potatoes, However, just to add injury to insult, I was still charged the $48 for the worst entree I’ve been served in years.
We ordered the signature chef menu for approx $145 pp. We were a bit skeptical, being a hotel restaurant and being such Michelin food snobs. Every dish of the 5 courses was delicious. Sweet shrimp, fois gras, lobster, wagyu beef and dessert. We also had a nice premier crus chablis. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Start at the terrace bar for sunset cocktails. Notice we can’t remember the dessert.
