    Excellent food and service. Excellent ambiance. Katz 21 does a lot of bar and conference/banquet business, so the restaurant section is not overly crowded. How refreshing to enjoy conversation without shouting and elbowing your way past hordes of people! No TV screens are in the restaurant. They are located in the bar, where they ought to be. What a concept! The wine list was impressive. I enjoyed the elderflower cocktail (a new discovery). To our disappointment, they were out of Taylor Fladgate, but otherwise everything was great. We hope they restock Taylor Fladgate before our next visit, because we’d love to try that Porto Flight. The crab cake was outstanding, and the escargot were very good. The pineapple upside down cake was not to be missed. (We did not order entrees.) Our server was excellent, attentive without hovering. The “birthday girl” in our party said it was the best birthday she has ever had. This is THE place in Corpus Christi for special occasions. We will be back.

    It is always a delight to eat at Katz 21 in Corpus Christi. The service was excellent and both the owner and the manager circulated regularly to supervise service. The food items our party of 6 had were all expertly prepared and presented. It was truly an experience to repeat!

    My wife and I had dinner at Katz-21 last night. The athmosphere was very nice. The noise level allowed quiet conversation and that's what we were looking for. The service was very good and our courses arrived as needed and hot. This was our second time at Katz-21. It's a bit pricey but not bad when compared to what else is available here in town. We'll go again.

    Made a reservation and the lady in the front told us when we got there that there was a private event and it was going to take a while to be seated. To go in the bar if we want it to wait there and she will get us later !! Well after a whole hour, she never even checked on us she didn’t even get our names down, she was clearly in a bad mood since we got there. This is so sad because we go at least once a week.

    We pick Katz 21 when we want an excellent meal & nice atmosphere. Food has never disappointed and usually the service is top notch. However, last night the service was very mediocre. Food was still incredible but we waited 20 minutes just to get our drinks. Will still return! And highly recommend for date nights or special occasions.

    This is by far the best restaurant in Corpus Christi. The atmosphere lacks nothing and I sure wish Corpus had more nice places like this to have a nice enjoyable meal. The bar is great as well .

    Very Slow service. Brought incorrect drinks after a long wait. Server took order and brought incorrect steaks. Tea was cloudy. We never got a refill on drinks. Food was good and steaks were decent in quality. For the price, service should be top notch.

    Staff was overwhelmed and service was slow. My first drink took way too long and then was incorrect. Second drink to correct mistake was just as long. They charged me for Ice Cube! Really? You are going to charge for ice! Staff removed drinks and food from table without asking and while we were still eating or drinking them. Food was good as always but the whole dinner took over 2.5 hours. Not worth the cost.

    Server was great, only issue was with the food. Wife ordered the lamb medium well however is came out medium rare, red inside. Server took it back to have it cooked out and it came back barely medium. Still very pink. Wife couldn't eat it like that so we ended up taking it home to finish cooking it. Manager bought us a piece of cheesecake as compensation, however considering the price of the lamb and that the reservation clearly said it was our anniversary dinner that fell a bit flat.

    My husband and I just tried to go in and have a nice dinner to celebrate our honeymoon. We received a gift card and were very excited to go. The dinner and everything was fine until it came time to pay. Their gift card reader/system conveniently went down the day before and they couldn’t read our card. The manager made NO attempts to accommodate or mitigate THEIR ISSUE. We could pay no problem but it was the principle of a person with a lack of sympathy or understanding. We never plan on going back to use the stupid gift card but we will do everything in our power to make sure either we or the original gift card purchasers are refunded their money. Terrible terrible experience. Update: we were refunded and able to keep the gift card for future use. Thank you to Steve for working with us on resolving the issue.

    We’ve been to your establishment several times each visit was a different occasion and the food is always top-tier and the service is phenomenal. Those two things together is why we keep going because we’re not gonna get anything less than that but last night when we went the food I felt, was mediocre, it didn’t stand out like it typically does I just felt like I was at another restaurant having dinner. My husband ordered the flounder and there were bones in his fish and then I ordered a steak medium. The server let me know it’s going to be a Center PINK, which I am OK with , I want to say it was well done the outside was a little crispy so I knew the inside wasn’t going to be what I had ordered. It was also our anniversary and it was late so we didn’t want to send anything back having to wait an extended time to have our food remade, and then eat it 10pm or so , the dessert was amazing and our server did a phenomenal job throughout the night. Even though we had told him we had been there prior for dinner he treated us amazing. Honestly, he was probably the best server we had there. I know the staff is held to a higher standard but he was real good. I was really just blown away. Anyways, Katz 21 is a place we love to tell people about so don’t worry will be back.

    Samuel was our waitress on 8/31 and it was his 1st day on the job. He was a FANTASTIC server for his 1st day. He was cool, calm, and collected. He service was fast and his memory was great. He checked on us often and gave us everything we requested within a timely manner. 10/10 would recommend for him to be my server or anyone else’s again.

    Our dinners were great, but maybe not quite as over the top as the ambience and prices suggest. In fact, we were a little surprised to get the appetizer before getting our drinks, and to be served coffee (for my husband) that had cooled to room temperature, while my decaf had grounds at the bottom of the cup. The ladies’ room has an insulting quote on the wall telling women to smile, but the really surprising thing about the bathroom was that there was so much disrepair. Broken doorknob in one stall, missing toilet paper holder in another stall, and missing hook for purses in another stall. It was just weird in a place presenting itself as so upscale. Our server was extremely friendly though, and our entrees were excellent. I have to say, the sautéed spinach that came with my redfish had such a delicious flavor, it has put all other sautéed spinach to shame.

    We're visiting from Austin for my birthday and it just was rough right from the start. This place is not fine dining! Took forever for a greet. Salads took forever. Drinks took forever. My lamb came out rare even though I ordered medium rare and it took 20 mins for that up cook. And when the lamb was delivered, the server hadn't even framed the table with a steak knife. Crab fried rice was undercooked as well so we sent it back. The breadcrumbs were burnt on the crab cake making it inedible. Manager never even stopped by. I can see why this place was dead on a Saturday night. Birthday ruined!

    Everything was fine as always. I would say the macaroni and cheese side dish needed more flavor. Sea Bass was good. Steak was good. Their Old Fashioned was great, but didn't have a luxardo cherry - just an orange peel. Waitress was the highlight.

    My broiled red fish was salty and my calamari was mushy. My husband did enjoy his prime rib. My wine was served after I received my dinner plate. I like to sip my wine during my appetizer.

    The service was horrible! Not that John didn’t try, there were only two servers when there should have been 4 or 5. No manager walking around as in the past. We will come back, hopefully this was a one off instance. If it happens next time, it will be the last.

    Our waiter was fantastic. He went above and beyond recommended perfect drinks recommended the perfect meal when I was asking him. I had no problem with him whatsoever. The only thing was that my fiancé ordered a steakhouse salad, and I guess the wording was a little complicated so he thought strips of steak would be on it, that’s no big deal but I ordered the lamb ribs and that was a $50 meal so I was like I had high expectations and I asked for medium rare and they were basically medium maybe medium well. And for my money I would like it to be done how I’d like he offered to get it remade but that would be way more waiting time. They were delicious either way.
