    Server was great, only issue was with the food. Wife ordered the lamb medium well however is came out medium rare, red inside. Server took it back to have it cooked out and it came back barely medium. Still very pink. Wife couldn't eat it like that so we ended up taking it home to finish cooking it. Manager bought us a piece of cheesecake as compensation, however considering the price of the lamb and that the reservation clearly said it was our anniversary dinner that fell a bit flat.

    My husband and I just tried to go in and have a nice dinner to celebrate our honeymoon. We received a gift card and were very excited to go. The dinner and everything was fine until it came time to pay. Their gift card reader/system conveniently went down the day before and they couldn’t read our card. The manager made NO attempts to accommodate or mitigate THEIR ISSUE. We could pay no problem but it was the principle of a person with a lack of sympathy or understanding. We never plan on going back to use the stupid gift card but we will do everything in our power to make sure either we or the original gift card purchasers are refunded their money. Terrible terrible experience.

    We’ve been to your establishment several times each visit was a different occasion and the food is always top-tier and the service is phenomenal. Those two things together is why we keep going because we’re not gonna get anything less than that but last night when we went the food I felt, was mediocre, it didn’t stand out like it typically does I just felt like I was at another restaurant having dinner. My husband ordered the flounder and there were bones in his fish and then I ordered a steak medium. The server let me know it’s going to be a Center PINK, which I am OK with , I want to say it was well done the outside was a little crispy so I knew the inside wasn’t going to be what I had ordered. It was also our anniversary and it was late so we didn’t want to send anything back having to wait an extended time to have our food remade, and then eat it 10pm or so , the dessert was amazing and our server did a phenomenal job throughout the night. Even though we had told him we had been there prior for dinner he treated us amazing. Honestly, he was probably the best server we had there. I know the staff is held to a higher standard but he was real good. I was really just blown away. Anyways, Katz 21 is a place we love to tell people about so don’t worry will be back.

    Samuel was our waitress on 8/31 and it was his 1st day on the job. He was a FANTASTIC server for his 1st day. He was cool, calm, and collected. He service was fast and his memory was great. He checked on us often and gave us everything we requested within a timely manner. 10/10 would recommend for him to be my server or anyone else’s again.

    The steak is exquisite. The veggies are very tasty and fresh. The potatoes also are terrific. Kind of pricy, but worth it overall.

    Our dinners were great, but maybe not quite as over the top as the ambience and prices suggest. In fact, we were a little surprised to get the appetizer before getting our drinks, and to be served coffee (for my husband) that had cooled to room temperature, while my decaf had grounds at the bottom of the cup. The ladies’ room has an insulting quote on the wall telling women to smile, but the really surprising thing about the bathroom was that there was so much disrepair. Broken doorknob in one stall, missing toilet paper holder in another stall, and missing hook for purses in another stall. It was just weird in a place presenting itself as so upscale. Our server was extremely friendly though, and our entrees were excellent. I have to say, the sautéed spinach that came with my redfish had such a delicious flavor, it has put all other sautéed spinach to shame.

    We're visiting from Austin for my birthday and it just was rough right from the start. This place is not fine dining! Took forever for a greet. Salads took forever. Drinks took forever. My lamb came out rare even though I ordered medium rare and it took 20 mins for that up cook. And when the lamb was delivered, the server hadn't even framed the table with a steak knife. Crab fried rice was undercooked as well so we sent it back. The breadcrumbs were burnt on the crab cake making it inedible. Manager never even stopped by. I can see why this place was dead on a Saturday night. Birthday ruined!

    Everything was fine as always. I would say the macaroni and cheese side dish needed more flavor. Sea Bass was good. Steak was good. Their Old Fashioned was great, but didn't have a luxardo cherry - just an orange peel. Waitress was the highlight.

    My broiled red fish was salty and my calamari was mushy. My husband did enjoy his prime rib. My wine was served after I received my dinner plate. I like to sip my wine during my appetizer.

    The service was horrible! Not that John didn’t try, there were only two servers when there should have been 4 or 5. No manager walking around as in the past. We will come back, hopefully this was a one off instance. If it happens next time, it will be the last.

    Our waiter was fantastic. He went above and beyond recommended perfect drinks recommended the perfect meal when I was asking him. I had no problem with him whatsoever. The only thing was that my fiancé ordered a steakhouse salad, and I guess the wording was a little complicated so he thought strips of steak would be on it, that’s no big deal but I ordered the lamb ribs and that was a $50 meal so I was like I had high expectations and I asked for medium rare and they were basically medium maybe medium well. And for my money I would like it to be done how I’d like he offered to get it remade but that would be way more waiting time. They were delicious either way.

    My husband and I have frequently visited Katz any time we visit Corpus. We really enjoy their food, but this time, the food were lukewarm, beef was very rear instead of medium rare as we requested, my Salmon was still pink. So we eat around the food and left the center. This is the only time I would say that we were not pleased with the food. I believe that the Chef really didn’t pay that much attention to our request bc I wanted Blackened salmon and the food came out less than 25 minutes from order which was unusually fast. Will we visit again? Yes.

    Katz is a great place especially for a special occasion or just dinning out. The staff does an amazing job. The steaks, seafood, pasta, etc., all taste great. We have never had a just fair or bad meal there. It might seem pricey but it's worth ever dollar.

    This was a buffet style meal. The meats were cold, dry, and tough. The rest of the buffet items were either lukewarm or cold. Some of the selections were completely empty. Service took longer than customary. Not once was my wife or myself asked if we would like a refill on our drinks. The second drink, that was ordered and paid for, was half the amount of the first drink.

    I didn’t Like that it was a buffet. I didn’t like that they included a tip of $21.00. The meal itself was $55’per person. I’m to blame For accepting the fact of the buffet, but to charge me such an large amount for a tip, that displeased me.

    Very disappointing. We made reservations for Mother's Day Brunch. We were seated at a round folding table in the dark banquet hall with people in line. It did not have a beautiful ambience at all. The meats were cold and very tough. The cost did not fit the experience. So sorry.

    Took 2 hours 45 minutes to get cold food and dried out steak for a 630 reservation. Filet Mignon had not one ounce of juice and was supposed to be medium but instead was well done.They even went to reheat our food and it still was cold. Several people that came in after us were served first. Bar drinks were served incomplete with out proper garnish. Waiter kept apologizing for the delay on the food. I spoke with the manager and he said ill check and he never even came back to the table to see how things were. When i went to the ladies room i over heard to employees complaining about the kitchen being a mess. The Katz of old days was always great. I don't know what has happened but definitely poor management on the floor and in the kitchen. Dinner should not take 3 hours ever! I felt sorry for the host and waiter they were having to run interference for the managements short cummings.

    We had the very best waitress last night named Danny. We had not been to Katz for a long time due to a less than wonderful experience our last visit. Danny changed alll that for us and we can’t wait to go back. It was wonderful!

    Considering this restaurant’s pedigree, we were expecting a better experience. The salmon was wildly overdone, the pork loin almost so. The lamb was quite good. The New York strip, despite claims to USDA Prime on the menu, clearly was not. Despite rare/medium rare doneness (it was, perhaps slightly more rare than not) the steak exhibited an uncharacteristic fibrous toughness. Service was spotty by three different staff (Will, John, and Kimberly). John was our actual waiter. We had to ask for bread and butter, and waits between water refills were notable considering the light crowd.

    I cannot say a single bad thing about Katz! Our food was absolutely amazing (my husband keeps saying it’s the best ribeye he’s ever had) and the cocktails we tried were delicious. Our server, Andy, was so kind, helpful, & attentive. Our food came very quickly, & portions were generous! We also both loved our dessert. Our experience here was definitely memorable, & we will be back someday!

    Went at 9:30pm. Experience felt rushed. Wine tasted old. Bread was cold. Went next door for drinks after at the bar. Ordered a drink that had a mosquito in it. Bartender seemed as if we should deal with it and was rude the rest of the time. For the $350 spent that night, not rushing to go back.

    Ate here last night for wife’s birthday. Outstanding service. One of the best restaurant meals we’ve had in a long time. Food was amazing…steak was cooked perfect and the crab cake was amazing. Remarkable spirits selection. Great atmosphere. The bananas foster is the very best restaurant dessert we’ve ever had.
