Great service, terrible food. Honestly food tasted liked it was a heated version of a plate another customer didnt want.

I am a huge fan of Katsuya for years and have visited various locations in various cities. This location is usually one of my favorites but I had such a disappointing experience on Thursday. The restaurant was very quiet and I crowded, however it took a very long time for our food to come out. Several dishes never even came out and when we finally got our server (she disappeared most of the night - never checked on us except to ask if we wanted to box our appetizers, not even noticing that all the other dishes hadn’t come) and asked about our food she said “oh it must have went to another table”. There were only 4 other tables dining, and that is the most unacceptable answer I can imagine (almost comical). She never asked if we wanted another drink, never apologized for the fact that the food that did come out took an inordinate amount of time (and that the other dishes never came out). We spent hours there and beyond the fact that the food was slow, it also wasn’t the normal amazing flavor. Everything was off in taste or bland. What’s a bad experience.

Nach 2 Jahren waren wir endlich wieder im Katsuya. Für uns ein Muss wenn wir in SoBe sind! Das Essen ist immer wieder Mega! Leider hatten wir eine Bedienung die sehr aufdringlich war und eigentlich richtig genervt hat. Wir hatten das Gefühl… schön das ihr hier seid aber es ist auch schön wenn ihr schnell esst und wieder geht. Das gab es in der Vergangenheit nicht! Die Temperatur im Raum hat sich etwas gebessert, früher ist man erfroren heute ist es kalt aber wenn man es weiß und einen Pullover mitbringt zu ertragen. Die Weinkarte finden wir zu schwach. Die offenen Weine sollte es auch als Flasche geben! Ansonsten immer wieder sehr gut.

Food quality is very good. We were a little disappointed with the set menu option, possibly because last time we went (2 years ago), it was out of this world. Ambience was a bit too quiet/bland for us but possibly because there were few people there at the time. The high automatic charge (28%) wasn’t really reflective of the service and then they leave room for additional tip. This is happening all over Miami but it should be pointed out to the customer when the bill is delivered or even upon making the reservation.

So delicious! We ate at Blue Ribbon the evening before and didn’t think that dinner could be topped but Katsuya managed to do it!

We had the best time. The baked crab roll was a surprising win for us but we will definitely be back for more sushi!

The appetizer/starters were good but the sushi and sashimi were very low quality. Frankly shocked at how sub par it was. Worst high end Japanese restaurant I’ve been too. Do not go here. Very disappointing. Highly likely it will not stay open with this low quality of food.
