The rolls were delicious but too big
Fish was fresh, sauces seemed old/had been sitting/coagulated
“Wagyu” tasted old and was tough
Shrimp had cheap import taste and texture- expected taste from cheap Chinese takeout, not Katsuya
Sushi was good
Overall very disappointing not what expected after reading reviews

Not the greatest quality sashimi, black cod was bland, sushi was good. Miso soup was barely warm. Room looks like it needs updating.

This was our second time at Katsuya. The service is great, the food is amazing, and the environment is visually very appealing. It is a noisy atmosphere and conversation requires a bit of a yell for all to be heard, so probably not great for a business dinner where work is to be done. But that isn’t what this place is for! A very enjoyable experience every time.

We came with our 4 month old baby for an early dinner and our waitress was incredible. She was attentive and held some of our dishes with the kitchen as we had to tend to our baby and couldn't eat right away. The sushi rolls were fantastic especislly the dynamite one which wasn't on the menu which the waitress recommended. Cocktails were good too.
The food was wonderful; however, the service was highly disappointing. Especially for the amount of money you pay to dine at such a lovely restaurant. I would’ve expected our waitress to at least come around to our table once or twice to ask if we needed another drink, how our food was tasting, did we need anything else, etc. Unfortunately, this restaurant adds an 18% gratuity to the check automatically - I sincerely wish I could have given this money to the host/hostess as they paid more attention to us than our server. Politely explained our situation to the GM and after saying he would make sure to make it up to us, he didn’t follow through with buying us a round. For the amount of money you pay and the experience you expect, I wouldn’t go back. If you can’t handle being in the customer service industry, you shouldn’t be working at a highly recommended restaurant. It ruined our experience and I truly believe if we had a properly trained server, we would have had a different experience.
Overall the food was wonderful and we had a great waiter. My only complaint is that the table was very tight and in between two couples that had wine coolers so it was hard for us to move in and out.
Fabulous food, atmosphere, and service ! We will definitely be coming back.
Enjoyed every item we had here! The only complaint we had was the long delay in getting our dessert.

Delicious inventive appetizers. Loved the spicy edamame, crispy rice tuna, Hamachi sashimi and salmon with caviar.
