Yes if they are not in a hurry and don’t mind too much noise (people & music).
Great spot in LA Live. The service was very efficient and our server helped with great recommendations. We pretty much just ate whatever he suggested next since he was spot on with each dish. The food is innovative and fresh.
Tables for two were a little small, but the food was delicious.
Delicious food and great service. It was the perfect location for our meal, right before a concert.
Sat at the bar for drinks and dinner and the service was amazing!
Wow! What a fantastic birthday lunch. A special shout out to our server, Will, for the big smile and super service. My husband loved the Katsuya Roll...loaded with lots of fresh fish. My tempura was the best I've ever had...veggies and shrimp. The miso soup was was flavorful and the house salad was chilled and lightly dressed. The teriyaky filet mignon was the star of the show! We highly recommend this restaurant! Thumbs up!
We had a reservation, which I mentioned as checking in, but hostess seemed to ignore as there were lots of tables available.
Had a great time as we were originally there for paint nite (at noon). Started off at the bar since we arrived so early. Rodney was fantastic. Then for 2 hours we painted and came in for a late lunch. Our waiter was great and he was nice enough to help us celebrate 2 birthdays. I've never been to LA Live where it wasn't busy with a game ending at Staples. It's really nice to be able to go around and enjoy eating at places like Katsuya without being rushed.
Great place to eat. Food was amazing and service was even better!
Crispy rice is always my favorite
Very low quality’s compared katsuya in dubai
This is our go-to place to have dinner before a concert. The food is great. The service is pretty good.
The restaurant was not busy, but still many of the food items were delay. It was almost like they had forgotten and then all of a sudden they rushed it to the table.
It was my birthday. I choose this place because we were attending concert nearby. I am vegan & my friends are not. I was disappointed with the vegan rolls, very plain. Cost of food was over priced for dinner. Service was great. But , I did not appreciate the restaurant B rating I saw afterwards.
It is good, not great sushi. The hamachi was not as flavorful as other places. The warm crab is good as are the brussel sprouts. We enjoyed the spicy tuna on crispy rice but thought the chef's caviar was good but not worth the hype. Better for 6 people and drinks and a designated driver.
Overall, not as high quality as my experience at Katsuya Brentwood. The difference in food quality and service was very noticeable. But I haven't been to the Brentwood location in a while - perhaps all of the locations have gone down in quality.
Terrible service; waiter seemed to be in a hurry. He would take our plates before we were finished. Food was mediocre, at best. Nothing memorable or outstanding. Decoration is pretty much nonexistent, and it is pretty dark inside. Would not recommend and will definitely not be going back.
Always busy but efficient. Tak runs a well oiled machine. Service is attentive, food consistently good. Great place for dinner before or after a game or event.
Food was good, drinks were superb. Service was super slow though. It took a while before our waiter came to acknowledge us at our table. Other than that it was an ok experience before the concert.
Great table service but reception had an attitude
Too loud, food comes way too fast, too rushed, prices higher than other locations
Had a really great dinner with my girlfriend! We had really great service and the food was amazing. I’ll definitely be back soon
I wish we would have gone somewhere else. They have a B rating, which in my opinion is horrible for a sushi restaurant. We realized it when it was too late. Outside seating felt very messy and dirty. Maybe it was because they were busy. Service was alright. The hostess at the front was friendly and accommodating, which was the only good thing there.
Service was good and friendly. Food was incredibly mediocre. Very basic sushi. I’ve had better sushi at the mall! It was fairly expensive as well, almost $80 for two people, no drinks. There are better places to eat at LA Live, skip this one.
I was so disappointed with the level of service we received last night at Katsuya. It seemed like no body wanted to be bothered to assist their customers there. We were seated immediately because of our reservation, but no one came to our table for 20 minutes. Once the server arrived, she apologized but it didn’t get any better. We got our drinks at different times. We got our sushi before our appetizers, in fact we got our appetizer after we were done eating our main course. We asked for plates and forks but got them in time to just look at because we were done eating. Then we ordered two desserts only to find out they were out of one of them so they brought out one and we literally waited 30 minutes for the second dessert to come! It was ridiculous! I won’t be spending my hard earned money there any time soon!
Fabulous a great dining experience
It would’ve been nice if they called me that they’re not open because of some sort of citation. We drove all the way from San Diego. Left our house early because of traffic. So disappointing!
Unfortunately didn’t have an experience because I found out upon arrival to the restaurant that they abruptly cancelled my dinner reservation. Very disappointed.
Nice place with good food prior to event at Staples Center, just not thrilled Katsuya became so corporate with pre-made rolls, pre-cut sushi.
Fresh fish and good service
Had a horrible experience. Our server was not only slow (no excuse either, place was empty) but she would not acknowledge us what’s so ever, finished our drinks took for ever to acknowledge that we wanted something else to drink. Once she did it took her at least 20 minutes to get us our second drinks and by the time she did we were done and ready to leave this place. Food was good service was horrible. Not acceptable for a fine dinning establishment. Will not come back to this location.
A perfect place for a relaxed date. The staff were very polite and they make very good recommendations! The L.A. Live location offers many activities as well.
The service at Katsuya LA Live was excellent. The ambience is vibrant at LA Live so I would recommend Katsuya if you are there for a game or concert.
Great service! Our server was an absolute delight & very attentive.
Decent, impressively designed, sushi option in Downtown. Been here several times and have had better sushi than I did last night 😕
We were a party of seven for a business lunch; gratuity was included. Service was awful. Lucky for our server her lack of attention/speed/even water for the table did not impact her tip since it was baked in. It would have been considerably less otherwise.
Very good miso soup
Food lacked flavor and was overpriced. There are much better options in DTLA
Vince our server was amazing and had complete control of the table and the menu. The food was amazing and we had an amazing time!
