I’m saying this in the hopes that things improve at Katsuya. Our waiter was not very responsive and the food showed up very late and somewhat disorganized. (Others who were seated after us were served their entire meal before us). We had the feeling that they were doing us favor. The place feels very factory-like, which also comes through in the food.

Food is reliable but less imaginative that it once was. Sushi / maki rolls seems like they had little to no seafood in them. Service wasn’t great — he didn’t understand our orders, brought the wrong items and forgot one guests order.

Food itself wasn't bad but the service was. Came here on a Wednesday night and ordered 8 things with my girlfriend, but the server forgot to put in 2 dishes which really messed with the flow and pace of the dinner. We ended up having appetizers at the end of our meal as that was forgotten in the order. Ambience was upscale feeling, but decor was a bit random and felt chaotic. You can tell they don't really have much attention to detail. Standouts to me were the baked crab hand roll and the uni, but the overall experience was lacking and expensive as to what you would find in a smaller sushi bar in Little Tokyo. Overall, I would not go back again.

Limited menu. Too much spicy tuna roll and not enough high quality sushi. Probably caters more to the sports fans from the nearby arena than convention attendees from the nearby hotels. Very uncomfortable seats and sushi bar seating is tiny and not appealing at all.

Came to the restaurant early - we had tickets to a concert and told our server. We were one of the first tables seated at 5:00 pm. We purchased the chef's tasting menu. The first 4 dishes came out super-fast. Then we waited over 20 minutes for the dessert. I know what happened. The restaurant had a surge before the Laker game and our dessert was forgotten. I understand, it doesn't make the experience any less painful. We had to get up and leave to make our concert. Some where the ball got dropped. I love the food and up until then the service was great. It's just a bummer driving to LA, choosing Katsuya, over Maestros, The Palm, etc. and then having a debacle at the end.

Service was horrible. After pushing the reservation back later, the servers made us wait forever. Not sure if it was out of spite. But, after being seated, many other guests were being served before our table, ate and settled their bill. Poor, poor, poor service. Very disappointing.

We've been to this Katsuya a million times, before games and events, it's always great and we love the teamwork among the staff. The Wagyu experience was great! The food was so so delicious. My husband who doesn't eat raw beef even liked the wagyu tartare! Every bite was delicious. The steak melted in my mouth! The drink pairing was also very good, who knew Suntory makes more than just whiskey! The only thing is the food courses are literally just one bite, so we were still pretty hungry after the courses had ended. :D But the value for the event still is pretty good since the drinks alone covers the money. We would definitely go back there to try out other food.

Best meal I’ve ever had! Our waiter Michael was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. He paced our meal perfectly for us to make the Dodger game exactly when we wanted to arrive. Food was outstanding! Can’t wait to go back!

The food was excellent. We had the Katsuya Classic. There were very few customers but service was initially very slow and I had to ask the wait staff where is our waiter after 20 minutes. They did give us a 15% discount but added a 5% fee to allegedly cover misc costs.
