It's always been overpriced and has always had bad service (this location) but our visit there TH night was worse than ever- the food portions were so much smaller than They use to be , my baked crab hand rolls for $29 were cold and the size of a magic marker.. first roll we ordered never even came, we remembered when the bill came and THEN it came out.. service sucks caked but of course the bill was still obnoxiously high. I will never go back/ the only reason we ended up there was because every other place was packed of people watching the Dodgers game
I’ve been to many Katsuyas and this experience was by far the worse. The service was not good. We always had to ask for the waiter. The potions were very small and the quality seems inferior to other katsuya locations. Honestly - it felt like a total waste of money.
We waited an hour and a half for our food. The waitress and manager came over and apologized. At the end of the meal. the waitress offered to ask her manager if he would give us any sort of discount since we had to wait so long but he said no. I would not recommend this place.
Dinner before a concert
Food was amazing, it was super busy due to the Luke Bryan concert. Our waiter ran his but off; great people watching eating in the bar area. Miso Black cod is amazing…
Had dinner before concert at Staples center. Great location for that. Service was great as well. Negative, the Sushi menu selection and the quality of the food was average. We expected much better for the prices they charge.
The manager came around to each table to greet patrons.
Overpriced food. Extremely slow service. My drink order came when we already finished the food. The bathroom was horrible. Overall not worth the high price
Food not worth the price
Food was cool, but you are definitely paying for ambiance and location rather than quality
Don't like the changed menu and have waited over 2 years to come back to dine. This was a special occasion and we had poor service and the waiter did not ask how the prepare the steak which was served well done so sent it back. Did not offer anything for our anniversary. Doubt that we will be back because the wagyu rib eye with the mushrooms was what kept bringing us back.
Excellent dining experience & wonderful service!
Service was crappy. Had to ask several times for certain items by several servers. The noise was super loud. For what we’re paying, I would expect better service.
We had the tomahawk which was very tender short rib attached to a tomahawk bone…not the most impressive but the price was extremely fair so we weren’t surprised when we saw it. The taste was good. The sushi was okay—nothing super special.
Seating was unorganized. Food service was good. Bartender was great.
1 name Misa Misa Misa! He made the experience so special for me and my family and got my whole reservation correct! Service was quick got crab hand rolls, shrimp fried rice, rock shrimp, California roll, and House
Had a date and it was nice! Very quiet and great drinks as well as good!
Misael was really helpful.
I went for a grad dinner and the result was waiting 15 minutes and not having a server even look our way. I had to find a server and ask them to take our order. It felt like they wanted us to leave the whole time. Worst experience in terms of service in all of los angeles in my 6 years in the city. An absolute waste of money and the worst way to end my graduation day. I wish I never came and spent a cent here.
Loved it ! Would definitely go again. All the food and drinks were delicious!
Amazing food! Will be back
Amazing food and great services with Sara

Yakisoba is amazing along with the karage chicken 🤓🤓🤓
Food was not good and poor quality
Our family visited LA for one weekend vacation to celebrate daughter’s birthday. On the way back to San Diego we decided to stop at Katsura to finish our short trip by lunching at that high rating restaurant. Reservations for lunch we made in advanced.
Tha restaurant was completely booked, but we were lucky to find a spot.
When we arrived the restaurant was full of people, but a server invited us to the nice made ready for us table.he was attentive to our orders and very polite when was verbiage us.
Our lunch was very tasty and dishes beautifully designed.
At the end of lunch we have free birthday desert for my daughter, very tasty Japanese ice cream, which we shared.
We left the restaurant in good mood and good memories about the birthday lunch.
We appreciate the stuff of the restaurant for helping us having good memories about wonderful time in Katsura - L.A.Live.
Very little to share except I thought the rolls were small compared to other sushi places and the drinks were a bit higher priced than necessary. It’s also DTLA, which has its pros and cons. Parking is often challenging and very expensive without validation.
What started off as a bad dinner due to the lack of attentiveness from our waitress was turned around by a server with excellent customer service skills. It appears that our server Miseal N. was able to read our body language and came to the rescue. He was able to turn what started off as poor service and turn it into the quality of service we expected. The food was good as always as were the drinks. Will be returning thanks to Miseal.
This was a disaster. The service was so bad, and I don't even get it. It wasn't busy, but I would say the waiter was not only rude but also absent. All that being said, the sushi is not good. I will be honest, my standard is high, I am not a watered down sushi eater. I love me some great nigiri, fish fresh and authentic. I knew that was not this restaurant going in, but still the sushi was barely edible. We didn't eat all of it. If you are in this area need some place to eat, I would try any of the other local restaurants and eat sushi somewhere else. LA has great sushi!
Horrible. I should call corporate because the manager on schedule “speaks with his hands” (his words not mine) and put his hands on me when I kindly asked if we could have our server check in. We were wanting to order more food. No customer service from the server is a direct reflection of management. I would suggest even pulling the camera film. When I walked back to the table, and I told my husband, he went to the “manager”. The Manager then says “I speak with my hands and I didn’t mean to touch your wife and I will take care of your whole meal”. The so-called manager also said that my husband told the server he was drunk and didn’t remember what we ordered which never happened we were waiting to have the server place the order which was never even placed in the first place. We told him that we just wanted to have proper service and not feel such aggression. At that point, we did not even want to order any more food. I anticipate that they would spit in it at by the way they were behaving. Then “manager” told my husband to take this outside in a tone that implied it was a fight. It was truly bizarre. I would stay away from this location at all costs. I frequent the location in a Glendale and have never had an issue. This was ghetto for a lack of a better term.
Fantastic server, food, and cocktails! Super fun for a friend gathering! It was a girls weekend made extra special by Katsuya!
We appreciate the level of service and fabulous food offerings even during these difficult times of Covid aftermath.
They went above and beyond! We will return and suggest this restaurant to all of our friends!
Absolutely amazing. I dined here Friday, Saturday and Sunday and pretty much ordered the same thing. I’ve been coming to Katsuya for many years and I am never disappointed.
Everything was great
They seem to focus on rushing customers and getting people in and out, rather than providing good service.
Very good food. Get the waygu gyoza
We used to frequent this location quite a bit. They just re-opened for dine-in. Simply put, they’re not ready. Waaaay below standard in all aspects. Give it a few weeks.
Great food and nice service!Enjoyed a lot before going to Lakers game!
The waiter was overwhelmed. Not the best service.
