We chose Katsuya because we were attending a concert at Microsoft and a lot of the other restaurants were booked. We had reservations for 6 p.m. and I highly recommend that you make reservations at any of the restaurants. We arrived at the restaurant about 5:30 or so and was able to be seated early. The restaurant was so pleasantly serine and we were able to talk and hear each other nicely until about 6:30 before the later dinner crowd began to arrive. Our waiter, Nicodemus was so pleasantly charming, attentive and knowledgeable about the top selling items on the menu. We love sushi and Katsuya was pretty good! We ordered some garlic edamame, a shrimp tempura, yellow tail, eel rolls and the pot stickers that seemed to be enough to fill us but not over stuff us. We also had a delicious Jasmine margarita and a shot of tequila before heading out! The charming decor and atmosphere just completes the dining experience at Katsuya! I highly recommend this spot at LA Live if you need a seamless delectable dining experience before attending an event at Microsoft, Crypto or just hanging out at LA Live!

Worst experience ever. Appetizers didn’t show up even though the entrees showed up. The miso soup tasted like water. Fried rice was the first thing to show up on the table. We ordered bottled water and it didn’t show up until like literally when the entree showed up. We ended canceling the appetizers because we were already done with the entree. So disappointed.

I had a great dinner with my daughter before a concert. We had a great outdoor table and our server was attentive and friendly. The food was great tasting and presented beautifully! I would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our dinner at Katsuya L.A. Live! The hostesses and the kitchen staff who delivered our food to the table were very kind and friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the noise level moderate. All of the food that we ordered was fresh and delicious. However, the very best thing about our dining experience at Katsuya L.A. Live was the AMAZING fried rice with shrimp! It was absolutely outstanding! It was delicious and perfectly prepared! We also enjoyed the fact that the restaurant is in close proximity (walking distance) to hotels and sports/concert venues. Additionally, the bathrooms at Katsuya were very clean, neat, and well-stocked. All in all, we had a wonderful time dining at Katsuya L.A. Live and will most definitely return!

Popular restaurant, good sushi, good service, nice ambience, convenient location if going to an event at the Crypto arena. We went to the basketball game and then dinner afterwards. Overall I have had better cuts of fish at other sushi restaurants, here you pay a bit extra for the name and ambience.

We are here for a business conference at the convention center. Chose this restaurant because it was walking distance. It was outstanding. I had the miso halibut and fried rice. I’m not a sushi eater but my husband is. The halibut was cooked perfectly. The fried rice was the best I have ever eaten. My husband had the unagi, spicy tuna roll and baked crab hand rolls. We also had the crispy Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious. Our server was very nice and efficient. I’m sorry I don’t remember his name to give him credit. Overall a great experience.

We went right before a Lakers playoff game, so the high noise level was expected. We sat right along the sushi bar to be able to watch the earlier game on tv. Our server was great, very nice and had great suggestions. Food was also great, as it always is at Katsuya. The only thing part of our experience that I would rate low is it might have been too crammed where we sat. Our elbows were barely hanging off our table, but servers kept bumping into us.

Wouldn't have minded if the food was good (mushy spicy tuna roll, rock shrimp tasteless, chicken average at best). But prices were very high for low quality and less quantity. Extremely bad service. Took 15 minutes to get greeted by waiter and another 25 to get a cocktail. Another 20 minutes for the 2nd cocktail. They completely forgot our main course (steak). We didn’t have time to wait due to an event. So we cancelled it and there was not even an apology given. We sat on the patio. We have dined here on many occasions. The service is always hit or miss but this was by far the worst.

Service was ok, but it felt understaffed. Our server was super kind but forgot a few things and messed one order up. It seems like he was just overwhelmed but definitely did his best. We forgot to cash in on the 15% off for having Cirque du Soleil tickets, so don’t make the same mistake. They won’t remind you! Food was very good — best part of the whole thing. It’s a very happening restaurant, which was fun for my mom’s birthday, but the music is very noisy for real convos. Something to keep in mind. We attended on 4/15/23.
