We had only 30 minutes to order and finish dinner and meet our guests in front of Staples Center for a Laker game. We told our server, ordered a very easy sushi menu and he had us done in 20 minutes. It was an outstanding meal and very high level of service. Thank you!!! Can’t wait to come back!
Greeted at the entrance needs a little more work. Should be more friendly or welcoming. Nonetheless once we got in the restaurant the waiter was nice and prompt.
All the food is not bad, everything is up to par but for this price it is expected.
The service here has gone way down. We went for an early dinner at 5:30 and struggled to find our waiter who never came by.
Delicious food, sit outside for fun people watching and cozy ambiance. Will be back!
Great place for cocktails and sushi before the game. Waitress this time was great.
Great service this time. Usually before a game it’s so crowded that it takes forever to get your food but this time they were on it.
Fantastic food and fantastic service, every dish we had was absolutely delicious and our server Brian was excellent, he deserves a raise! I highly recommend Katsuya to anyone that loves to eat sushi.....great restaurant!
Service was really slow due to the amount of people. Could have been since it was a Laker game. Drink orders were really slow.
Totally unprepared for the clippers home opener. Took over 40 minutes after we ordered SUSHI ONLY to start receiving dishes completely out of order...and never received our most expensive dish before we had to leave.
We will return but will opt of the bill completely if service is anywhere near comparable.
At first our reservation wasn’t honored. Finally after speaking with the manager we were seated. We ordered from a prixe fix menu for four guests. Our courses didn’t come out together and we’re not served in order. When we inquired into what we were being served, the waitstaff didn’t know. Nobody checked on us and we received no water refills. One of us waited and hour for her crab roll. We have patronized various locations of Katsuya including this one. I have been there when they are slammed and received better service- staff had attitude and were downright rude. Never going back.
Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. We take honest comments from our guests very seriously. It is sometimes difficult to hear the not-so good stuff, but it helps us learn and improve! I would love to speak with you personally about your visit and try to make this right. Our conversation will help me give our team the training, support and direction it needs to exceed our guests’ expectations moving forward.
The hostesses were very accommodating and professional. Greeted us and gave us a compliment, connected with us!
Food and drinks were perfect!
Moderate crowd so that's no excuse. Service was intermittent - sometimes way too aggressive, sometimes missing. Food was fine, but not better than "fine." kind of disappointing overall.
The server was amazing. We asked him to bring more drinks in 10 minutes and he did. The service is amazing.
Bad bad hostess service.
The food taste and quality was inconsistent compared to their other locations. We were very diappointed.
Good food, good drinks. Perfect to share with friends
As usual, Katsuya didn’t disappoint. The food is always amazing. The only thing I don’t like are the tables that have a couch on one side. I had to sit on the couch this time and it’s just way too low.
I was greeted at the door with amazing service. Seated immediately with more amazing service. Our waiter was amazing food came out fast as well as the drinks. We will be back again!
The food was hit or miss, a couple good dishes, a couple not so good. Service was pretty bad- waiters we're either inexperienced or overwhelmed. Definitely not the kind of service you expect at this price point. Also no ambience whatsoever. Overall not worth it and we will not return.
Little pricy but yummy. Katsuya fresh cocktail is AWESOME!
Love love love the food and phenomenal service!! But it’s definitely overpriced. Guess you pay for it being in LA live
Excellent food, sushi and short ribs best ever! Great service, knowledgeable, super pleasant. A great anniversary meal.
Yes if they are not in a hurry and don’t mind too much noise (people & music).
Great spot in LA Live. The service was very efficient and our server helped with great recommendations. We pretty much just ate whatever he suggested next since he was spot on with each dish. The food is innovative and fresh.
Tables for two were a little small, but the food was delicious.
Delicious food and great service. It was the perfect location for our meal, right before a concert.
Sat at the bar for drinks and dinner and the service was amazing!
Wow! What a fantastic birthday lunch. A special shout out to our server, Will, for the big smile and super service. My husband loved the Katsuya Roll...loaded with lots of fresh fish. My tempura was the best I've ever had...veggies and shrimp. The miso soup was was flavorful and the house salad was chilled and lightly dressed. The teriyaky filet mignon was the star of the show! We highly recommend this restaurant! Thumbs up!
We had a reservation, which I mentioned as checking in, but hostess seemed to ignore as there were lots of tables available.
Had a great time as we were originally there for paint nite (at noon). Started off at the bar since we arrived so early. Rodney was fantastic. Then for 2 hours we painted and came in for a late lunch. Our waiter was great and he was nice enough to help us celebrate 2 birthdays. I've never been to LA Live where it wasn't busy with a game ending at Staples. It's really nice to be able to go around and enjoy eating at places like Katsuya without being rushed.
Great place to eat. Food was amazing and service was even better!
Crispy rice is always my favorite
Very low quality’s compared katsuya in dubai
This is our go-to place to have dinner before a concert. The food is great. The service is pretty good.
The restaurant was not busy, but still many of the food items were delay. It was almost like they had forgotten and then all of a sudden they rushed it to the table.
It was my birthday. I choose this place because we were attending concert nearby. I am vegan & my friends are not. I was disappointed with the vegan rolls, very plain. Cost of food was over priced for dinner. Service was great. But , I did not appreciate the restaurant B rating I saw afterwards.
It is good, not great sushi. The hamachi was not as flavorful as other places. The warm crab is good as are the brussel sprouts. We enjoyed the spicy tuna on crispy rice but thought the chef's caviar was good but not worth the hype. Better for 6 people and drinks and a designated driver.
Overall, not as high quality as my experience at Katsuya Brentwood. The difference in food quality and service was very noticeable. But I haven't been to the Brentwood location in a while - perhaps all of the locations have gone down in quality.
