We were late but they accommodated is without any issues. Server and service were quick so we made it to our show in plenty of times
The food is very good, on the expensive side compared to most top Sushi restaurants, but some unique dishes and served family style rather than by individual orders. Extremely noisy when busy, starting around 6:30 and this was on a Tuesday night. wouldn't consider on a Friday or Saturday if you want a nice quiet enjoyable dinner with conversation. No rush to leave. The corkage fee is high at $25 especially when considering the wine list offered. What is convenient is to valet park, have dinner before a show at the Pantages and then pick up your car afterwards, that is the main reason to go. Would I highly recommend the restaurant, not really just to go for dinner, only if you were going to a show or event in Hollywood, the traffic and parking otherwise is terrible.
I had a reservation for 5:30 for two. My colleague arrived 20 minutes early and I arrived 8 minutes early and checked in. We waited and waited and waited. The hostess failed to seat us and I asked twice about our seats while in the meantime two other parties which arrived after us were seated. We finally got seated at 5:43 which is simply unacceptable. I have been a regular and this was a business dinner. It left an very bad impression.
Katsuya is Outstanding, delicious, and consistent.
Fantastic food and great service, had an amazing time.
Great service and extremely fresh and flavorful rolls and sushi. The menu was a little different than Studio City location but still very good.
Delicious and conveniently located from the Pantages. Great for dinner prior to the show. The cocktails were fantastic.
Yummy as usual! The beef was a bit overdone for being medium rare. Other than that, all was very good--black cod, tempura roll, raw fish with the onion sprinkles. Even the chocolate cake was delish! This is a great option before the Pantages.
Great service b6 Jo Ann
The food was great. Nice vibe, nice atmosphere and interesting decor.
Wonderful, very fresh food.
Staff was extremely rude and discriminating. Did not feel welcome at all. Will not be returning to this location.
Salty & nothing too special
Went there before prom... literally the best meal I’ve had in my life. The Salmon Lemon Roll was unbelievable as was everything else. Even the water didn’t disappoint. Would recommend 11/10.
Food was fantastic. Wait staff was excellent too. But hard to hear each other talk above the music. Great if you want hip vibe but didn't work for us.
A little pricey, but excellent food and service. Pace of food delivery was perfect. Reservation 6:30. Done by 7:40. Pantages show across street at 8:00. Great experience. Would recommend.
Excellent food and service, as always!
Great food, Great service! The creative dishes were absolutely delicious.
A real treat!
Mario is an excellent server! The food was exceptional again!
Food was really good. Place is way too dark in the dining area.
Seating was a bit awkward as booths were way too low.
Came here before the Aladdin play and our waitress was horrible she only came to take our order and for the bill. I asked her for hot sauce she never came back to give it to us so I asked the bus boy and he was on top of it with drinks and side things we needed he deserved the tip not her.
Service was great. DJ was AWESOME. DJ Evillincoln. Played the best music. Set the vibe. Great personality. Very friendly. Recommend for a meal or just to hang out for drinks and snacks.
Wonderful food, service, décor. A bit loud for conversation though.
Grossly overpriced for pretty fair food. Rock Shrimp were the best of the order. Service so so!
Loved it. The good wad beautifully presented and delicious.
We ordered 3 starters and some sushi and a fish dish.
They were ok but not more than that...
Definitely ate in much better asian restaurants around
Not the place to go on a Friday night if you want a low key dinner experience. Music was too loud and the way tables were organized we had a steady flow of people walk against our table to get to the restroom. Server was great and food was very good but will go somewhere else when needing to talk work. I’ve had better meal experiences at lunch but dinner is too much of ‘a scene.’
John the Manager took special interest in our birthday celebration and was a fantastic host. The food as always was superb in presentation and quality. We love this restaurant and encourage others to discover it’s pleasures.
I was sick, I guess from the quality of the fish .... the whole afternoon after my lunch ... not good for a Japanese restaurant ...
This place is phenomenal. With such a great variety of menu options, we looked to our server for recommendations and he definitely delivered. The food and cocktails were amazing and the place definitely has a cool vibe. Definite hot spot off of Hollywood Blvd.
Food quality is okay. A little overpriced compared to Japanese restaurants at the same quality level
Get the tempura rock shrimp. You won’t regret it.
Amazing dinner with my wife and daughter before catching a play at the Pantages Theater across the street. Our waiter was fantastic and picked some really tasty options for us. Perfect night out!
The most surprising is that Katsuya Hollywood was TWICE as expensive as Katsuya Americana for the EXACT same dishes. The quality of fish is even better at the Americana. Did I say soooooo expensive. $45 for assorted Sushi? And that was half a cut California Roll. Nothing unique or special. We felt very taken advantage of for a less than par location. The highlight was the Lychee Martini.
Very nice! Great service
Great service, great food. lot's of fun! Been to another Katsuya restaurant and very consistent in food quality and service.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated.
Overall the food was good but pricey. The lights were so dim that we couldn’t even see our menus, our food, and each other. The service was good but not as friendly as I would have liked. I would go again though.
A good scene-y sushi option in Hollywood. Great for Pantages pre-dinner. Prices are a bit high. At this price point I'd rather do Sugarfish or Boss Sushi.
Loved the fried rice with spicy tuna
