   We always go to Katsuya prior to Pantages. The food, service, ambience and drinks are simply superb. We eat there 6 or 7 times steak and it never disappoints.

   Our first time there. Will definitely go back. Next time I will stick to the specialty rolls - we ordered a specialty roll and a classic. The classic didn't seem better than any other spicy tuna roll I've had, but the corn crunch roll was amazing! Service was outstanding!

   I ordered the “Half of lobster” for $33 and it was only 5-nickel sized pieces, although it was delicious. They automatically added an extra $12 SERVICE FEE to the check. When I asked what it was, she said it was to help the employees get insurance. She did offer to take it off after the fact, but I think it is wrong to add that to a check BEFORE asking for permission. It’s very dark in there and many people probably don’t even see it. It seemed sneaky in my opinion. Food and service was great! The short ribs were excellent!

    Me and my girl took this girl out to eat. We all had a great food. make sure you get those brussels sprouts. Drinks were mixed right and by the end of the night we all had a good night.

    This is a very cool place. Nice location and a very Hollywood (Blvd) type crowd. The sushi is always good. Fresh and brought quickly but not rushed. We ordered a few things and then added as we went and they are fine with that. The big room on the right side is sort of loud. Nice though and the other room is quieter but the tables are short and you sit slightly above normal. Feels a bit off. People are very nice including the Valet guys....and a small but really nice bar.

    Food was ok but it is an expensive restaurant so I expect great service. It wasn’t. There was a period of over thirty minutes when our waiter did not come to the table. No drink refills. No ordering. Nothing. My party ended up getting tired and we lost half the group bc they got tired and wanted to head home. Also there is a DJ blaring music so it is hard to talk in there.

    Taking the kids to The Lion King. Service was really fast and felt a bit rushed. But thankful to not be late for the show. Also appreciated that we were seated even though we arrived early. A great night!

    They don’t do Omakase but we asked our server to surprise us with a few things and she was awesome. Most items were great, a couple were not but overall a fun dinner.

    Friendly hostess and server Good social atmosphere- music not too loud, subdued lighting. Sushi well prepared and not over sauced. Grilled shrimp overdone. Tempura lightly fried and good texture. Server not always available - forgot request for sea salt. Pounced on the sushi platter before I could finish chewing last piece. Cool snowball / molecular gastronomy desert.

    Checked in timely. Got us out for,our show on time. Food was outstanding. Service was spot on. Food was fabulous. Don’t miss the ice cream and donut dessert. We were very uncomfortable in the dining room. I felt like the plastic tables and chairs were an Ikea showroom. Tall husband felt like he was in a kid’s play set.

    We asked for a quiet location in the restaurant but there didn't appear to be any place to have a normal conversation. The service, food, and feel of the restaurant were excellent. The food seemed over priced for the serving size.

    Aesthetically super pleasing. The problem is having one server open the restaurant, knowing their is a broadway show happening across the street. One table walked out for lack of service, and we had to wait 15 minutes just to order an appetizer. We went to wood and vine after because we left hungry. It was very similar to NOVA Kitchen and Bar but not done as great as NOVA

    Nice place, food was good but way overpriced and small portions, and would not recommend for date as i could not hear what my date was saying music is to loud and chairs are big and far from each other. defiantly not a place to go on your first date.

    We went here for my birthday celebration and had such a wonderful time. The staff was amazing; super friendly & knowledgeable. From the food to the drinks and also the DJ was great as well. great place for a cute date night or happy hour drinks & apps. the whole menu is great since you can share and try so many different items. our server even brought out a birthday dessert with candles! She was amazing!

    The service was terrific and most of the meal was amazing. However, the Spicy Crispy Tuna was disappointingly bland, and the Jalapeño Yellowtail was thickly sliced and the sauce wasn’t delicious. But the drinks and miso black cod was stellar and my server was attentive and very pleasant! Since I live on the east coast, I always try to get to Katsuya whenever I can.

    Very good service, fast but not rushed. The food was excellent and the wait staff was very attentive in checking on us to order more of the fresh, tasty, vibrant sushi. This will be my new "go to" spot when going to a show at the Pantages.

    Great staff and service. Unforgettable evening as my Mrs and I rarely get to head into Hollywood for dining date nights. This was an over night date so we were walking distance to the W and had a great time.

    Some of the absolute best food I've ever had! We also put that it was our anniversary on our reservation and they gave us champagne for free! The server was really nice and our table was always promptly cleared when we finished small dishes and our beverages were always being topped off. Fabulous experience. The dishes are also expensive but for the quality of the food it feels as if they're at a value price! For the two of us we paid around 230$ for 2 appetizers, a sushi roll, and two entrees; so expect to pay around 75-100$ per person if you're budgeting! :)
