Extremely disappointing. For all it’s gloss and sparkle, the quality of the sushi was not. I think I prefer the original Katsuya in the strip mall. Much better
Jasmine margarita. Great. Rock shrimp. Super. Cod. Epic. Sweet servers. Fun night. Park here & eat before shows at The Pantages!
The service was perfect and the sushi was good, I just don't think it was worth what we paid for. I'd rather go to Takami Sushi & Robata. For the same amount, I would get a beautiful view of DTLA with a bigger serving of sushi. I wouldn't return, but I do appreciate the attentiveness of the host's and servers.
Always great coming to this restaurant.
Was amazing steak
We've been coming here for years. They re-did it a few years ago and it looks great. The staff is always very attentive, friendly and the food is excellent. I like this location best (the one at the Americana doesn't seem as great in the quality/cleanliness departments) but the Hollywood one is tops. The staff is even sweet when my daughter and I dine before shows....remembering us and making her feel like a big girl! Much appreciated. The food though is the important part and it's always solid.
This is a great venue. We would have given 5 stars, but we needed gluten-free food and the rolls tested with gluten even though we were told they could be made without. The beef and edamame were wonderful and gluten free.
visiting from atlanta with my two daughters - food was amazing! drink was amazing! must order crab roll and melon drink. wagyu beef fried rice was to die for. will definitely return on next trip.
The food is always amazing here. I've been coming for years and the quality hasn't changed. For my birthday lunch though, I was looking forward to eating their incredible wagyu with foie gras but was so disappointed to learn that it's been removed from the menu! Please bring it back?
Great location, beautiful atmosphere...a bit pricey, but it's sushi, so one expects to pay
Everyone was very thoughtful of my daughters allergies. The service definitely exceeded my expectations.
Loved this restaurant! The AC was a little cold for us but wouldn’t put us off revisiting! Beautiful food in a stylish restaurant
Was super excited to go to Katsuya because I’ve never had a bad experience at any of the other Katsuya restaurants. Upon walking in, there was an odd odor. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet, and sat us right away. Once we sat down, the odor of sewage increased. Not only that, when we poured our soy sauce, a little bug was taking a swim in it... we waited a long time for the albacore sashimi, which is usually amazing. This one was.... okay... but not great. The service was so-so, with the interactions being pleasant enough, but definitely rushed. We definitely were not the most important table there... won’t be going back to this location. Which, is unfortunate because it’s such a cool location!
Food is decent but the noise level is deafening. I can't have a decent conversation over dinner because of the noise level.
Had a great experience, great food!!
It was a great dinner as even the simplest courses amaze. We shared a variety of items from short ribs to sushi and then topped it off with chocolate. Dinner was a combo surf and turf with wagyu ribeye and half dynamite lobster. Great scotch as an aperitif. I’ll be back.
Meals was good but service not
Food is great. Drinks are amazing. Overall great first time experience.
great food. great service. been here a couple of times and have not been disappointed.
It was amazing. Yay
Katsuya Hollywood is one of my favorite spots for date night or dinner with friends. Not only is it beautiful with a peaceful, chic vibe, the food is exquisite. Complex, divine flavors with many options! We started with Spicy Edamame and Popcorn Rock Shrimp followed by the divine Robata Zucchini and Asparagus. Then we topped off the meal with Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Rock Shrimp Tempura and the Cauliflower Tofu Roll. Don’t forget to start with the refreshing, tasty Katsuya Fresh on the rocks!
Very good. Tartar tuna was very delicious.
The fooooooooooooood ❤️❤️❤️
Great upscale chain, not to be confused with Katsu-ya Izakaya. The food is unique, fresh and pricey. The wait staff was impeccable and friendly. The cost was pretty high, (around 75-100 per person) and compared to other high-end sushi places like Nobu or Matsuhisa for relatively the same amount, I would probably choose one of the other, but Katsuya had a nice chill ambiance.
Katsu is a wonderful restaurant in every way. The food is even better recently.
I love Katsuya but the only thing that I’m not satisfied was the service. It took so long for our order to get serve. We ordered the Katsuya classic, new classic, teriyaki chicken bowl, and sashimi. We would like to order more but because of the slow service and we are running out of time (we had to catch our show at Pantages). They also didn’t refill our drinks. We are unhappy customers 😌
We love Katsuya and while we tend to order our favorite foods time and again, we also try new dishes and are never disappointed.
Mom and I eat at this Katsuya before going to the Pantages. It is pretty much the only sushi place I like since moving back from Maui. The hamachi sashimi and the albacore sashimi are so tender they MELT in my mouth. No teeth needed lol.Felix, our usual awesome server, was not there last night, but Brace was awesome (and a nice looking ginger!). The hostesses are ALWAYS gorgeous and fabulous! We get our usual table 1 and love it. Mom devoured her maguro. Get the Brussels sprouts. Love the corn crunch roll and handheld crab roll. My iced green tea was never empty. Best service. Always so kind. I’ve been to other Katsuya locations, but this, by far, is my fave.
Had a lot of sushi. This is perhaps the best. Signature cocktails were too pricey. But overall excellent experience - highly recommend.
Excellent food. Fresh sushi and very original dishes based on basic food combinations. The Spicy Tuna On crispy rice is to die for... My son and I enjoyed the ribeye steak cooked to perfection. The Wagyu beef fried rice was a little under cooked. But the beef was fantastic. The service was on point and exceptional. The convenience to the Cinerama Dome and the Pantages is a huge plus with abundant parking half a block away.
Great food and great service. Made a reservation same day on a Friday and had no problem getting in. The albacore crunchy onion appetizer is amazing!!
Would definitely return!
First out of state vacation with my potential future WIFEY ;);)! We enjoyed multiple sushi rolls and beverages..wrapped it all up with a Chocolate Lovers cafe dessert with Vanilla ice cream. How appropriate “chocolate and vanilla”!!! Nevertheless, Brace was great, kept the food and beverages flowing, made sure my kicks were good after soy sauce spilled on the floor and took care of us all night. Luv Katsuya and we’ll be back..very soon! Merci!
Beautiful decor, classy ambiance, prompt service and amazing food. Delicious sushi variety, with interesting twists/ingredients.
We really enjoyed our evening there and will return.
Good food. They forgot one item that I had ordered but quickly brought when I branch to their attention. Everything was very tasty. Definitely on the pricey side but good for a nice outing.
Took about 25 minutes for us to be greeted at our table.
The food is very average.
Ordered the lunch special signature, so average.
Japanese restaurant doesn’t even have udon.
Coke was fountain, so flat.
Delicious food! Excellent service! Only complaint is that it’s pricey!!
Second time there this month; it was fantastic. We look forward to the next time. We love the bartender Mario. Very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable.
Pretty mediocre based on the fabulous sushi that is now available in Los Angeles. Way too pricey as well. More of a tourist social crowd than food knowledgeable patrons.
