Food was great. They accommodate our allergies very well. Our server Emily was fantastic. Super friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. She made our dinner date a total pleasure.
Always a home run. Love katsuya.
Had a wonderful date night and everything was so delicious. The Tai tea sazerac was the best drink I’ve had.
katusya is always an amazing experience. the staff was very helpful and always super kind. the food was as amazing as always! 10/10
The best part of the meal was the miso soup and the seaweed salad. The rest of the dishes for both myself and my husband were very bland at best
Everything was good except how it took 30 minutes for a roll to come out.
Katsuya Hollywood is one of our favorite restaurants. We love the spicy tuna on crispy fried rice! It's so yummy. Everything we've had there has been really delicious. It's a good place to go with a few friends so you can try different dishes and share them family style. Last time we went we split the steak and it was perfectly cooked and tender and delicious. The seats are comfortable and not so loud you can't hear the person next to you.
The sushi was good. We had the albacore with onions delicious. The crispy rice spicy tuna not the best I’ve had a little on the soft side. I like a little crunch to my rice patties. Hand crab rolls A plus. Definitely a great stop before a play at Pantages
Why don't I earn points when patronizing this restaurant - when I make the reservations, it says I will earn points. Not upset with the restaurant, upset with OpenTable.
Went with my BFF for dinner before seeing a musical at the Pantages Theater. Dinner was superb and put us in a great mood for our theater experience!
Our family was running late for a show and after having to wait an additional 10 minutes for our table (10 minutes past our reservation), the server was fast, efficient and timely. Food was great and we made our show.
I had a party of 12 and we showed up on time exactly at 8pm and somehow our reservation was given away. The wait because of their mistake was another 2hrs, this didn’t go well and I will probably never go there again. Please have your staff be respectful of larger groups and Double check before giving away reservations. Thanks!
I always love coming to Katsuya before seeing a show at the Pantages! The service is top notch, the food is great, and the food comes out fairly quickly (important when on a time crunch to get to the show). Another great dining experience!
Too dark to read menu
The food paled in comparison to "real" Katsuya restaurants and the prices were obscenely outrageous. The food came out quickly - maybe it had been pre-prepared because it sure didn't taste like it should. We won't be coming back to this "faux" Katsuya location.
wasn’t a big fan of the SBE katsuya, super pretentious and food did not compare to the original ones in the valley. will definitely not be back and will go to the valley locations.
Before and after theater ! Makes dining and dessert so easy! Great food and service! Valet your car once and go to dinner and theater! Perfect.
Great food. Busy, so server wasn’t as attentive. Live Dj good music. Great ambience.
It was about our 4th time at Katsuya Hollywood, so you know we like the place.
Friendly hosts but we got sat right next to another couple with plenty of empty tables around.
Food was good but not as good as previously. Our service was delayed due to a large party we were told.
And service wasn't great the entire dinner. Also the prices seemed a little too high for the drop off in food quality and inferior service.
Great meal and reasonably priced. We were going to the Pantages to see a show and they got us in and out quickly. It is popular and the bar scene was good
My absolute favorite "go-to" upscale Sushi Restaurant for Pre-Theatre at the Pantages right across the street! Always a pleasure dining at Katsura-Hollywood!!
Food was sub-par and way over priced for what it is
Informed the server of a severe dairy allergy as soon as seated and stressed the importance of it as I was flying the next day and did not want to end up having to go to the doctors after a pricey experience. Nevertheless, I ended up having a horrible night directly after leaving as I was served (more than likely the crispy rice and spicy tuna) some sort of dairy.
When the crispy rice and spicy tuna came out, I asked it is was dairy free and the response was “sure”. The server past by and I asked again just in case and she said it should be fine. Well it was not.
Thanks for a very terrible and expensive dinner that will be shared with many.
Wonderful service on a very crowded evening. We are return customerS and we are always impressed with the food presentation and taste. We tried a few fishes that were new to the menu aNd we were not disappointed. Great service, great loacation, friendly accomodatibg staff and excellent food. Easily one of our favorites.
On a 24 hour visit to LA....
We did the tasting menu and absolutely loved it!!
Great way to try many dishes ... some pictured here
It was good, had the Omakase menu with a bottle Rosè Chandon. Food was good, all of it actually. Only sashimi and nigiri was served, be nice if there was some sushi rolls too. Something interesting other than just sliced fish (allbeit good sliced fish it was) Our server brought some when asked why they don’t serve any on Omakase.
Servers don’t explain any of the courses. They just set it down with the exception of dessert course. One guy literally said ‘mushroom’ and that was it.
Lovely folks at the front who got us in and out on time for our show at the Pantages
I marked the service down because the desk reported to OpenTable that we did not attend. The reservation was under my name (Tim Ryan) but it was for my wife (Lisa Guerin) who did in fact attend.
Great service and delicious food!
When the sashimi came to the table, it was so thin I couldn't decide if I should eat it or use it to floss my teeth. I could have eaten at least 3 or 4 portions and maybe then been full. They use rice as a filler, so my two colleagues who had ordered sushi were a little more full, but not a lot.
For three of us, the lunch bill (yes, lunch) came to $125 (excluding tips) and we did not have alcohol (just ice teas).
And finally the service was very spotty - waiter only came over once and passed by only one other time.
Would not recommend this place at all - tourist trap because of very central location and you're paying for ambiance. Plenty of other good sushi places in the area!
Always good ! Pricey but worth it !
Will now be my regular dining destination prior to the theater. It was fabulous. Can't wait to go back.
The food was great and one of the servers was really great. A bigger party came in and our waitress was pulled away to serve them. The hand over to another waitress could have been much better as we were left without anyone for about 20 minutes.
Amazing sushi. So fresh. Traveling from Florida to Sacramento
Extremely disappointing. For all it’s gloss and sparkle, the quality of the sushi was not. I think I prefer the original Katsuya in the strip mall. Much better
Jasmine margarita. Great. Rock shrimp. Super. Cod. Epic. Sweet servers. Fun night. Park here & eat before shows at The Pantages!
The service was perfect and the sushi was good, I just don't think it was worth what we paid for. I'd rather go to Takami Sushi & Robata. For the same amount, I would get a beautiful view of DTLA with a bigger serving of sushi. I wouldn't return, but I do appreciate the attentiveness of the host's and servers.
Always great coming to this restaurant.
Was amazing steak
We've been coming here for years. They re-did it a few years ago and it looks great. The staff is always very attentive, friendly and the food is excellent. I like this location best (the one at the Americana doesn't seem as great in the quality/cleanliness departments) but the Hollywood one is tops. The staff is even sweet when my daughter and I dine before shows....remembering us and making her feel like a big girl! Much appreciated. The food though is the important part and it's always solid.
