Terrible quality and overpriced. Will not be back.
Experience was terrible from the moment we check-in.. Hostess seemed like I was bothering her and our seating location was terrible. Food quality did not meet the price point. Very disappointed and will most likely never dine at a Katsuya again. This is not opentable worthy.
This restaurant was terrible. Mediocre yesterday’s fish, served by slow incompetent staff. This place is all hype and poor across the board.
Love the food and customer service
Got a phone call literally the night before dinner, which was valentine’s day, from the staff. They were “limiting everyone’s dinner experience to an hour” due to heavy bookings. It was the night before Valentine’s Day and impossible to get a table at another decent restaurant. I decided to keep the reservation. The restaurant was not very busy, tons of open tables, and we were rushed through. The wait staff forgot our drink orders twice....very strange evening. Wasn’t a great experience, and I won’t risk making a reservation there again. Food was good, but the experience was lacking.
Food is good, drinks are ok, a little too expensive, they don’t validate valet parking , but the worse thing is the service, if you happen to order additional items and regardless how busy the restaurant is, it can take forever to get additional food out of the kitchen.
If you great service go to Bourbon Steakhouse, if you really want good Japanese food, try Katsura in Hollywood
Food was terrible, service mediocre. Sushi looked and tasted like it had been cut and plated the day before.
Below average sushi at best. Service, they are super slow and forgot almost everything we asked of them. You would think dropping 3 bills for a lunch that you would get stellar sushi and service. But no. Bad management and all show no go.
Delicious! Surprised with portion size-much bigger than I thought.
I celebrated my 24th birthday here and it was an evening I’ll remember! The host greeted us and congratulated me on my birthday. We sat up stairs where we had a great view of Americana at Brand while also staying warm beneath heaters. The food was incredible. We tried multiple rolls (I recommend asking about their secret menu as well). The cocktails were great! Wish I could try everything on their menu. Our server and all of the runners were friendly, attentive, and quick. Looking forward to our next visit!
Great time with Christmas snow
Nice evening. Food is very good but expensive
Meeting Santa with our daughters and then having dinner at Katsuya afterwards. Was a good experience! Great food! Service was lacking, per usual. This place gets so busy and there’s so much going on, I understand, but it is annoying....
I love Katsuya Hollywood bit Glendale was just ok, food was ok
Excellent vegan alternatives to a diverse menu. Creative and attractive presentation. We enjoyed our meal very much. The professional team of servers are experienced and recommend very good options.
Food is always very good as usual, but service was a bit lacking this time. Our server & food runners are very nice, but often times you have to request things twice (water, menu, etc.) as they forget the first time, or it doesn't comes to you in a timely manner. They were gracious enough to move us to a different table timely though.
I am a regular at this location and the service was extremely poor this time. Understaffed, under acknowledged, under-serviced.
Went to Katsuya at the Americana for the tree lighting ceremony.
The food took way too long to come out. We ordered a kids entree which came out last of all the dishes and our 8 year old was very hungry. Food was very good but again took so long.
Great food. Came out quick and hot
Service and ambience were good but the food was mediocre. I will not be back, unfortunately.
Serve was bad, slow, forgot to put order of food.
We have eaten at this Katsuya and one in Los Angeles. We have liked this one better, because it’s fun to sit outside and people watch at The Americana! The food is good, but I wouldn’t say that it is delicious. On this particular day, we went to eat there because we needed to purchase something in the area My husband was having some health testing done and was only allowed to drink clear liquids. He explained his situation and ordered clear broth. I ordered gyozas and shrimp tempura. When my gyoza came, I had finished my ice tea. I never got a refill, while I was eating my gyozas. When I was done with my gyozas, they had not brought my husbands soup. Then they brought my tempura and still no ice tea. They brought my husbands soup, but it was filled with shrimp and noodles and vegetables. So he had to send it back. By then I finished my shrimp tempura. I finally got a refill of my ice tea after I finished my shrimp. My husband still did not get his clear soup. He also did not get his ice tea filled. About ten minutes later he got his clear soup. He was charged ten dollars for a small bowl of soup that he got 10 minutes after I was done eating. It was an agonizing experience. They did not apologize or care.
Should have trusted the reviews. Visited from out of state. Wanted a good family meal after Universal Studios. Great location but poor service and an extremely slow kitchen. Our waiter was kind but they had him working the upstairs and the downstairs patio. That would explain why we didn’t see him much. I wouldn’t recommend this place. The food was not memorable. I’ve had better meals and I was practically falling asleep at the table waiting on my food. The waiter said it would come out in waves. More like it went out with the tide first.
Wonderful experience. The staff was exceptionally attentive, friendly, and helpful. We were visiting from Phoenix to meet up with relatives. This was a perfect midway meeting venue for dinner. The exceptional service added to our get together. Nothing was missed and have never had this high level of service. Not to exclude the food. You have to have the fried Brussels sprouts. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and they were all amazing. The GM even came to our table to make sure everything was okay. Ambiance on the outdoor patio with views of The Americana was beautiful! Can’t say enough.
Celebrating my mother’s bday. She loves the cake at the tree and everyone was super friendly.
Whenever I travel to a city where there is a Katsuya, I always go at least once. Always delish and consistent, regardless of the location!
Muy bueno todo lo mejor fue el mesero que nos sugirió muy buen menú
The food quality, service and lack of attention was not worth the price. I asked for out door seating and they literally put us as far away from people as they could- upstairs in a tucked away balcony.... extremely odd
We were seated upstairs so the noise level was quiet. The food was very, very good and the Cocktail I gad was excellent.
Our Hostess and Server were courteous and punctual.
Overall great dinner.
Horrible music that was dirty rap. Poor service. Food overpriced. Employees lazy and unorganized
I expected more variety and better execution of the food. Rolls were very good but the bowls were disappointing.
Not worth the price. Sushi was average at best. Nothing to write home about for sure, and definitely not worth what we paid. Kumadori around the corner is far better and more reasonably priced
The service was spotty. Might have ordered a second drink, but waiter was nowhere to be found.food was pretty good. The Americana roll was my favorite
The short rib robata consisted of 3-4 pieces of undercooked fat (very little meat), while the mushroom robata was doused in a sauce that hid the flavor of the mushrooms themselves. Both were terrible.
Sushi was good, and sashimi platter was excellent. Unfortunately, the low quality of the robata marred the meal.
The food was horrible. I couldn't believe that this was a well known Japanese restaurant. Do not eat ramen here, it's worse than instant noodle I can make at home. Some of the fishes in sushi were not fresh, very fishy. And seaweed was soggy and we could not bite/chew. The dessert said mochi but it's actually mochi icecream, clearly someone who don't know the food well wrote the menu. Drinks were good but pricey. Service was good. We will never go back to Katsuya ever again. Very disappointed.
I took my sister to try Katsuya’s Dine LA menu. The food was incredible and a lot.
