Good service with tasty food. Good variety. Fun and interesting atmosphere as chef prepares entrees on center stage in the middle of the restaurant.
Great service and food was outstanding!!!!
So I made a reservation was for 8 pm which I thought was a late dinner.. And so I was expected to be seated right away but we waited for 25 min just to be seated... I thought what was the purpose of our reservation? So we get seated and the host makes a sly comment because our guests werent following all at once and said "I guess they weren't really ready" seriously?? Wow so we get to the booths and they are dirty! So now we have to wait for them to clean and host the whole time was than giving me a face for requesting it be cleaned.. I tried thanking her but she talked right over me. So the service was horrible.... As for the food this is my third time here... The only thing I would recommend are crispy rice with spicy tuna, spicy tuna roll, sunset roll and and the mochi. Desert was amazing the first time but nothing has changed and desert this time around wasn't great.
Hi, was a very good evening with my wife. Was out of hot tea and rice should be a part of the main course. It's cheap. Overall service was very good.
That was an exceptional experience!!! It was my first time and I WILL be coming back!! The waitors was very professional and inviting.
The food was delicious and the service was great. A must visit when in the Bahamas. It's located in The Baha Mar Resort.
Amazing atmosphere, service and food! I would definitely recommend Katsuya
Dinner was amazing. The samplers were so good and plated so nicely.
Awesome all around !!!!!
Everything was outstanding- both the food and service were top notch. It was definitely one of my favorite places to dine in the Grand Hyatt/SLS hotel properties.
Not overly impressed. Lack of direction from service staff in assisting with menu options. Slow delivery of food and drinks and the craft cocktails were exceptionally tiny for the $16 price tag. Most of the food was very good but the overall experience left our group scratching our heads. Feels like management needs to tighten this operation up a bit. As with most of restaurants on the property, beautifully designed from an aesthetic point of view but lacking depth at this point.
Sushi taste and quality was lower than avarage. And prices were crazy high. Are you Guys serious? 23 USD for gyoza? Value for money? Disaster and not wort to spend. Not a clue about sushi. Service acceptable but very slow. Had reservation but had to wait for my table for 10 minutes even restaurant was half empty. At least interior design was a pleasant to look at. Will not go again even if I win a million dollar in lottery.
An extremely disappointing experience overall. This was my third attempt to give Katsuya a try (previous ones in Miami) and I think it will be my last time. When we booked a vacation at Baha Mar I was excited by the large selection of dining options. Of course being a sushi fanatic I booked Katsuya for our first night. It is one of the few times in my life when I have gotten up and left the restaurant in the middle of dinner. Where to begin? First, the seating arrangements were just odd. Although designed by Philippe Starck and expected to be beautiful it felt cold and industrial. The front area by the Sushi bar was buzzing but the seating at the Sushi bar was limited so we were shown a table in the dining room in back with had a selection of cozier seats but the ambiance was completely different and quite frankly - boring. The arrangement of the tables was odd as well - one table looked at a large private dining room, another at an empty spacing staring at the wall. I’m not sure who designed the seating but not a whole lot of thought went into comfort level.
Service by the hostess was surly. However, our waiter was excellent and about the only redeeming quality of the place. He was friendly, made recommendations on the menu, and even when we left after appetizers, was very nice and gracious.
The menu - limited, unoriginal, overpriced. I love good Sushi and would happily pay for an amazing sushi experience like Nakazawa. But this menu seemed like a knockoff of Nobu’s original menu from way back when it was located in Tribeca. After ordering edamame and crab hand rolls, which were decent (how can you mess those up?) we literally could not find a thing we wanted to eat after looking the menu for 20 minutes. We ended up leaving and going over to Fi’lia where we had a better meal.
Atmosphere was very nice but the staff were a bit of a turn off. The hostesses weren't too personable and just weren't too welcoming. The bartender took awhile to acknowledge we were sitting at the bar and the drinks were just okay and nothing to brag about. The food was nice and came out fairly quickly. They sang Happy Birthday and it was really entertaining. Overall I would recommend the restaurant to others.
Truly a memorable meal. We have eaten at many of the best restaurants in New York, New Orleans, Washington DC, and elsewhere, and this was beyond our expectations. Not your every day sushi menu. Fresh, unique, high quality, great portions, worth every penny. Great drinks too. Ambience modern and classy but comfortable and not pretentious. We wanted to go back one more time before we left the Bahamas. We will be back for sure.
The food was very flavorful!! Our serving team did a good job!! Things came out quickly and were well prepared
It was my third time dining there and the quality of the sushi was top shelve.
Great place for sushi! We did have to send our chicken entre back since it was undercooked first time around. The gentleman pouring our wine was just the sweetest man! The A5 rice did seem a bit pricy @$68 for the bowl but it was yummy!
All there tables for 2 are bad. We we’re sat at a very small rocky table. My husbands elbow was in a plant. After ordering 2 glass’s of wine and water we realized we would never enjoy our meal so we asked for our bill & left. $70 ouch!
Good food but slow service. Took forever to get utensils and server forgot some of our order. Similar experience with all of BahaMar. Could be great with more urgent service.
Wonderful outdoor dining overlooking the beautiful ocean. Friendly service and delicious fresh seafood.
Food was really good and the service was excellent.
I would strongly that you reorganize your kitchen procedure so that meals are served in the correct order. My guests and I got our entrees first, our starters second and our soup course last. Having owned restaurants myself, I was not impressed with this. The quality of food however was very good.
It was just an ‘ok’ experience. Food was nothing special, service was adequate, temperature was super cold inside, uncomfortable furniture.... it definitely was not NOBU.
The patio seating is wonderful with great views and lots of people watching opportunities. The food was good and as expected but nothing that blew us away. The service was not as expected. Water glasses were not refilled. Food came out twice. Most of the dishes came out at the same time which felt like we were being rushed. They need to work on training their staff. Overall it was an OK experience thanks to the ambiance.
Spicy rock shrimp roll was excellent and decent size. Yellowfin tuna appetizer was ridiculously small. Edamame was good portion. Spicy Tuna roll was good not outstanding. The pork belly entrée was excellent and good size in comparison to other dishes.
Very much like over priced. Service is what u get when on the island, slow and not to helpful also seemed upset that we were even there
Fabulous food and our waiter was awesome! He was knowledgeable about the menu, funny, service oriented and efficient. His nickname is “Five”. I’ve visited Katsuya on numerous occasions and honestly this visit stood out because of our server. Highly recommended!
Good was excellent but we were disappointed to be sitting outdoors was t dress for the heat and sun. Didn’t know your lunch menu was only served outdoor.
We've had great meals while staying at BahaMar but so far this was the best hands down. Everything was outstanding: Gyoza, brussel sprouts, tobanyaki's, chicken teriyaki, salmon, rolls AND dessert. Both my kids, 13 and 11, loved it too. Service also excellent. Not a budget meal, but you get what you pay for.
The food was good from what we had but over all over disappointed in the prices vs the amount of food we received.
Love Katsuya! I have been three times now... once in South Beach and twice in the Bahamas (Baha Mar), I love the scene and the delicious food.
Plan on a tasteful experience at a hefty price. Have the lobster roll. The veggie fried rice is great but ridiculously over-priced. After the shock my wife and I agreed the food was well prepared and delicious. Avoid the Robata. Better to eat more sushi or sashimi. We would suggest eating there and plan on taking in the traditional experience.
The food was delicious!! Too much air conditioning- but apart from that lovely! Have been a few times and food is consistently good!
Great! Very accommodating and kid friendly.
-Service was extremely unprofessional
-Managers, hostess, waiters hanging out
-Wine list missing many wines
-Wine bottle arriving after main dish
-plates were not removed and we still have entrance dishes with dessert and coffee.
I didn’t complain, just asked if was possible to remove plates so we could have space to eat properly for a cost meal.
I believe it is tourist trap and is very sad because we knew the restaurant in Miami.. and is not like that at all.
Hope they can improve their service and be an example in the Bahamas stead of what we experimented..
so people like me that been in Albany many times could come back hoping to have a good service and good dinner experience and be able to invite our friends to have a good time.
Like everywhere on the island, service was very slow.
The food was great, the service was friendly and efficient. My only comment is that the drinks and food were served so fast, one on top of the other, that we were in and out in under an hour! But we enjoyed the evening and walked around Baha Mar afterwards.
700.00 for 4 adults and 4 children. It was very good but minimal food, more like a bunch of appetizers for a group. Service was actually really good. Just far to expensive for what we had.
