Katsuya by Starck Baha Mar
Excellent staff , great food and quick service.
Food as always was exceptional. Sushi is outstanding. We always come here when we go to Baha Mar. Sit on the patio.. ambience is great!
The best experience with this place! Chef Pavel was very professional and caring about our needs! He suggested the best food ! Also our waiter Chase was amazing guy with Bahamian hospitality and fast service ! Twice in a four days stay were visiting and eating there!
Food was fantastic, wait staff very attentive, very confortable setting!!
Overall everything was really good. The miso cod was disappointing doesn’t compare to Nobu and the cocktails were too sweet...
Everything was good until we got to the paying process, they have no portable credit card processing machines ,you have to get up and walk through the whole restaurant to there paying station and put in your pin, that is an inconvenience for the customer and they really have to do better! I was disappointed to say the least!
Our server Denise was outsyabbsbb
The food was outstanding. Service could’ve been better and didn’t acknowledge it was a birthday when it was noted in the reservation.
The spicy edamame was overly seasoned. Sunset roll was room temp with too much over ripe avocado. Our waiter never checked on us nor the staff that was having loud conversations feet from us. Only once waitress bothered to smile the entire visit. Not at all what we expected and would never return
Would highly recommend the steakhouse, Chinese or commonwealth over this place.
Great food and great service! Lobster roll and baked crab roll were incredible. Food came out promptly and our servers were outstanding. Best restaurant in the baha mar complex!
Food is very average. If your looking for good quality Asian/Japanese food this isn’t the place.
Wonderful meal, not just your typical sushi restaurant but sushi with a creative twist! What stood out the most was the outstanding service ! Servers were helpful, attentive, and super friendly !
It’s was an great experience. The food was delicious and Tevan our server was amazing.
Several of the food items were not brought in a timely manner. Some guest had to wait unusually long time for some of their courses.
Too much noise
Have eaten at this location multiple times and normally very good. Rock shrimp was covered in way to much sauce, dripping compared to past visits. Lobster roll was inedible covered in a mayo type sauce, literally drenched in sauce. Salmon sashimi was excellent but the fish on rainbow roll seemed like it was exposed to the air for a while as it was almost dried out....hopefully they figure it out as this is an awesome restaurant normally
Teriyaki Steak was better than Carna steak and half the price!!! Will return!!
Great experience. Will love to go back
Food was great and our server was wonderful. The prices are high for the portion sizes. However, the quality was top notch. The noise level from the casino takes away from the dining experience! Nobody wants to hear the constant noise of slot machines while having a nice meal.
Our waiter was good but service was TERRIBLE. Took an hour to get our drinks and 1.5 hours to get our apps. Disappointed
Was not impressed, the food was not the best for the price it was. I’ve had way better sushi- very basic rolls.
Sat outside by the patio..beautiful setting ..dinner was delicious..service was excellent..would definitely recommend
Overall, we did not enjoy the food. The taste was bland and nothing in our meal stood out. It was also overpriced and offered poor value. There was also some large groups that were loud and obnoxious (i.e. one guy using chop sticks to play the drums on the table, glasses, bottles, etc). Management did nothing to quiet things down, which took away from our own experience.
Excellent service and excellent food!
The atmosphere was wonderful and the server was kind. Unfortunately, the food/entrees came out at different times and the one guest never received her meal. When the server was alerted the meal quickly arrived but was under-cooked. Another entree was served while the other diners waited for her to finish. The food was good but very expensive. Another note, two the guest questioned options based on food needing to be gluten free. The two guests were served soy causing them to be sick. Overall all an okay experience given the food, services, and prices. For that amount of money being spent, I expected more from Katsuya.
The food was delicious. The best food we had on our trip. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was just okay.Just not attentive they need to work on that. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience.
Great assortment of fish and other items
Unfortunately they didn’t remember it was my daughters birthday even though I entered this in open table. Wine in general at the resort is pricey but all in all a good experience.
This is our 4th time eating here on separate trips we have been to Miami and LA locations in the past food is great but the hostess at the entrance is awful every time, it’s so much attitude with no smile or a friendly gesture restaurant should be aware that first interaction with a customer is the host and it’s just not a good start.
Servers are hit or miss the men serving always better then the ladies at this location the ladies just not trained not to have an attitude maybe it’s a local Bahamian thing but we stay at Rose Wood every time and get exceptional service from all staff at all times.
I spend $800 for dinner for my family of 6 which is fine no problem but the experience is just not great and I wouldn’t go back if my kids didn’t love sushi we had dinner at Carna the night before for similar price range with great service that made dinner a fantastic part of our night.
Good quality just extremely expensive.
We arrived for our 8:30pm reservation on time. We waited until around 9:30 to be approached by the wait staff to take our order. The staff was aware of our unhappiness, and continued to serve us at their own pace. Appetizers arrived 15 minutes apart, as well as entrees served separately. Meanwhile, my beverage glass was consistently empty based on the poor waitstaff serving us. A truly disappointing experience in what is supposed to be a luxury hotel. Would have hoped for much more and definitely would not plan a return visit. The food was excellent, but the experience was not worthwhile and ultimately disappointing. It honestly felt like we were less than a priority to those serving us.
When you come as a couple your meals come 10 to 15 minutes apart through all courses except desert
The portions are ridiculously small and overpriced. I spent $32 for about 4oz of Teriyaki Beef Tenderloin. It was so undercooked, I ended up with major stomach troubles.
Food and service were both outstanding! Best meal we had at Baha Mar. Pricey, but would definitely recommend!
Although the portions were extremely small the food was very good although my husband’s beef was very salty. much better quality than any other restaurant in the entire hotel. However for sushi being made fresh order I don’t know why I was charged an extra two dollars to have the avocado not put into my roll as I am highly allergic. It’s stated it on the bill. The waitress screwed up and order got a bit annoyed with any questions you had and was really a sourpuss making a whole meal unenjoyable and uncomfortable. The sushi was great the rest of the food the portions were so small it was absolutely ridiculous for the amount of money that was charged. Upscale Manhattan prices are cheaper than that
We decided to dine at Katsuya twice during our six night stay in the Bahamas because we love the Miami location. The food was excellent, but the overall atmosphere is too causal for a brand like Katsuya. The tables in the front part of the restaurant feel like a great place for lunch, almost like a cafeteria. The white plush seats near the middle were more comfortable and in an area with a much better evening vibe. We were fortunate enough to sit there one of the nights and we enjoyed that evening better. The outdoor seating looks uncomfortable so we opted not to sit there. Depending on where you sit, the atmosphere is very different. Overall the restaurant atmosphere doesn’t compare to Miami’s and could use a refresh.
Enjoyed this restaurant however, we ordered the Wagyu Fried Rice which was $76 and it had only 4 tiny pieces of meat in it. Very disappointing. The rock shrimp was delicious. We also ordered a filet mignon and it was cooked just as ordered and very good. You order several items and share them all and those three items were more than enough. It is expensive however most every restaurant at the BAHAMAR resort is.
It was a great evening, the food was excellent and the service was the best. I wish I remembered the waitresses name because she was wonderful and she deserves a special commendation. It was my birthday celebration and she made it that much better.
I would definitely return and really loved the food.
great restaurant. awesome location in hotel and right by amazing pond with fire coming out of it.
