My personal favorites are and always will be the Miso Cod, the Rock Shrimp, the YellowTail Tuna Sashimi and the Baked Crab Roll. Chicken salad is amazing also. My favorite Sushi place in LA.

Never going back. Been here many times over the years. Wanted to go for my Birthday this year (indicated on reservation & when confirmed on voice call). Was sat at the Robata bar... server forgot us serval times, received apps before our drink, never offered water & never received our Robata bar items which had to be removed from tab. Lastly ordered 3 baked crab hand rolls, First was one large the last two were tiny barely any filling looked sad & pathetic. Very disappointed overall. Awful Bday dinner will NEVER return!

We were there for my daughter's birthday. They brought a lot of the food out in the first 10 minutes. We told them to please slow it down. They brought out the next dish 5 minutes later and then every 5 minutes after. We tried to eat as slow as possible but the meal was over in about 35 minutes. And the food didn't taste as good as it usually does.

WE as a great time despite our 45 min wait in our already reserved table. The manager was very responsive to this and treated us very nicely.

The service was terrible and the food mediocre. We waited 20 minutes to be seated for our reservation. Drinks took forever to come. We ordered and some of the food came right away. 30 minutes later, the waitress asked if we’d like anything else. We told her we were still waiting for 2 sushi rolls. She never asked if we’d like another drink. We had to ask multiple times for our waters to be refilled. The food is fine, but there’s better at sushi restaurants all around LA. I won’t be back.

The food is always consistently great here.
Spicy tuna on crispy rice, yum.
Albacore sashimi with crispy onions, so good!
Miso-marinated black cod-melt in your mouth delicious.

I had a great watermelon cucumber mojito as well-cool and refreshing.
Well done Katsuya!

Service was incredible, drinks were great and food was yummmy! All around great! Usually SBE restaurants are my least favorite when it comes to customer service, this location really changed my perspective.

It was a Sunday night and by request took my NY clients and sushi lovers to Katsuya. They had heard so much about the restaurant and living in Brentwood I was thrilled to eat close to home. I had not been to Katsuya for almost a year and was excited to return. I have to say it was one of the worse local experiences. The service was awful. We had to remind the waiter to bring our order , drinks and I am still waiting for a plate. We ate our sushi over the tiny mixing dishes given at the beginning of the meal. At the end of this ordeal I pulled the waiter aside and let him know nicely about my disappointment, in particular because it was a client dinner. His response was a cold and aggressive "what didn't you like specifically ?" We were shocked and left and still gave a tip. I am not sure why. I never ever ever write reviews or rate but hopefully someone at Katsuya will see this and make a change.

Fun evening. We were supposed to have dinner, but got to the restaurant before it opened and sat at the bar. The bartender was so wonderful, we just kept ordering sushi and wine from him. We never made it to our table. The hostess was terrific. She checked in on us and just allowed us to stay at the bar. The sushi was delicious and innovative. Good wine selection.

Super loud, too many kids in this expensive, fancy Asian/sushi restaurant - at 7:30 on a Friday night. Service was good, we like the food.

First time to Katsuya. Cooked food and appetizers better than sushi which is why we gave it just a "good" rating. Our server was very enthusiastic and attentive. Super loud so hard to have any dinner conversation without feeling like you were yelling across the table. Ok for a Friday night out and last minute plans.

I had high expectations since the menu is relatively pricey. Granted we had a huge heat wave, the place was uncomfortably warm. We were seated in the back and it felt like a cheap cafeteria. We were super close to other guests, it was too loud to carry a decent conversation, and the food wasn't that memorable. Would not recommend.

The service and food were superb.
I really credit the management and staff, it is a well runned establishment with tons of class.
Everyone we encountered who worked there was friendly and very accommodating. This is what restaurants have been missing for years. Kudos to Katsuya, this will be a regular in our dining rotation. Others in the business need to take note....this is how it's done.

I was beyond disappointed in the service (and I love this place). THey never refilled our drinks, the food came in the completely wrong order. We must have had 5 waiters. It was not fun. When you pay a premium, you expect premium service.

I will not be going back.
