Go for the food - it's delicious, but this restaurant is VERY VERY LOUD. Lots of large parties. Not a great spot for conversation.
Enjoyed our meal. Crispy rice tuna, yellowtail, lobster roll, jidori chicken salad and asparagus were all delicious! Our server, Kira, was sweet and an excellent server.
Had to wait 45 mins for table
Great food but very pricy
Worst experience ever! They were short staff and we had to wait 30min for waiter to come and say hi to us! Drinks came 20 min after the food!!
Terrible seating even thought half the restaurant had better seats available . Could of any to a regular sushi restaurant and I would of felt the same. Disappointed
We didn’t get seated for 15/20 mins after we made the reservation. Water wasn’t filled much during the meal. Sushi, rolls, and entrees were great though.
Host took forever to seat us. Nobody else was waiting and plenty of seats were available. Didn't like that and it may cause me to never go back.
Went many times in the past and it has seemed to go downhill majorly with regards to portion sizes, prices, and ambiance. Still enjoy the food and cocktail options.
First of all host was very rude. Second tables was very dirt, wiped them out and tried to enjoy what they call a good restaurant. Surprisly plates came dirt too and I kept asking them to replace it, food quality was not that good. Any ways it was a very bad experience
Love, love, love! Pat is the best!
Food was good, not amazing and the service was less than attentive. Actually had to flag someone down to order.
Our favorite restaurant and the number 1 Katsuya towering over other locations in Hollywood and Miami
Chairs were dirty. Noise high. It has become the local hang out for the family set.
I like kids. Just not running around constantly near my sitting area.
Food was ok. Staff was good But because of the constant movement of teenagers a bit harried.
Time to find a new quieter cleaner sushi place.
I go to Katsuya in Brentwood all the time. The server rushed us through the food service. Server also had an attitude regarding our consumption of ice tea. Also got part of the order wrong as he didn’t think we would want more than one prepared roll
Some new items on the menu and they are really really good.
Buzzy atmosphere, good food and always have a good time. Can be noisy and service can be patchy when busy
Nice place for drinks and small bites.
Why don’t I get points on open table for this reservation?
Always consistently good!
Great food and service. Fresh sushi and cooked options
I love the food (and cocktails) at Katsuya. However, it is expensive, VERY loud and I have never been seated there on time. Why take reservations if you will never honor them? We have always waited at least 30 minutes after our reservation, in the small crowded lobby. Not sure why this always happens. Our server however, was great
My fiancé and I love Katsuya. Its “our” place!
The food is not as good as the other Katsuya locations. Also, either they don't have enough waiters or they are just not quick on their feet or have any organized/systematic way of doing things.
It was my birthday dinner...no fanfare or special items from the restaurant, but the lovely hostesses did say Happy Birthday when we arrived. We had reservations and were sat at the sushi bar immediately. The service was prompt, all of the sushi was fresh and the energy is vibrant. Always consistent place to dine.
Overpriced poor service and average quality. Very disappointing.
Beyond disappointing experience.
I am a local diner and hadn’t been there in about a year.
Food portions were half of what they used to be and quality of ingredients was below par. For example, larger shrimps in the shrimp tempura were switched out for mini shrimps and portion was at half of less from my last experience and prices up 20%.
I was with a group of people and they all echoed the same. We left quickly without ordering more drinks and did not get dessert either.
Would not recommend unfortunately.
Always nice, food good, service not great this time...
Unfortunately the service was incredibly poor. Food was good but lack of service killed the experience.
I love the Katsuya chain of restaurants but found the Brentwood location to be very noisy and over priced. The food was good - particularly the crispy onion albacore and crispy brussel sprouts - but as the restaurant filled up it was hard to hear the person sitting right across from me. The Studio City location is by far the best value, has great ambience and always excellent food. I highly recommend that restaurant over their Brentwood location.
Quality down, prices up. Service. Knowledgeable but. Very slow
Plates were dirty, food came at disparate times, waiter didn’t care. My salad came after the main dishes were already served. I complained and the waiter didn’t care.
Overall, it was a terrible dining experience
This place is really good, the food quality is outstanding, tle ambiance is nice but the service needs to be improved.
The service was terrible and our reservation was forgotten about
Great service and good 😍
My husband and I had the best time on Saturday night! We had to Omakase for two along with the crispy tuna rice - so delicious! And our server and her runner provided the best service. Super attentive without being on top of us. Highly recommend and we will be back!
On this past Tuesday, August 13. I made reservations for dinner at 7:30. When I arrived, there was an intoxicated homeless guy in the front entrance. While I was valeting my car the homeless guy was in front of my car. The valet driver left my car on with the keys inside to help someone else. This gave the homeless guy the opportunity to steal my Mercedes. I had to stand outside next to my car and sent my girlfriend inside nervous for our lives and my car. I am regular customer, but after this disgusting experience, I am not coming back. I didn’t enjoy my meal as I was still shaken and scared about my car and my life.
Our reservation was at 8:30pm party of 4, restaurant was not very busy, host walked us all the way to a table next to the entrance of the bathrooms. We sat for awhile before a waiter came and asked us what we like to drink after the drinks our waiter disappeared we waited again finally he came took our order. Another waitress will bring the plates to the table but no one is picking up the empty plates I had to waive to another waiter to get the empty plates still our waiter would disappear another waiter came after I waived to him I asked him for our waiter he told me I will take your order. It was horrible the whole time we were waiting for the waiter or looking for the waiter. very bad service.
we had guests from out of the state first time in LA it was a very bad experience!!
Always an excellent place to go for lunch with family and friends ... great food and service ...
Set a reservation. Arrived without a table set. Waited two minutes to be led through a beautifully tiered dining room. An abrupt right turn later & we were led by the host via echolocation to "our" table. The cave that we entered is perfectly hidden in this otherwise beautiful restaurant. Using my phone's light, I studied the menu with the lengthy amount of time that was allotted by our server. Having mentioned that we would like to course our meal, said sever calculated a bold strategy of neglect. In all of the meantime, we were bombarded by what seemed to be a bus of New Jersey tourists with Malibu accents yelling about their lives in a perfect circle around us for approximately two hours. It all just seemed like a social experiment. The octopus is amazing. Those three stars are for the octopus.
