Eventing was great until families came in with a bunch of kids. Got very noisy, had to move to dining room! Other than that wouls recommend it!
Very good authentic Japanese food. A little pricey but the quality of the food off sets this.
The food is good except for the Wagyu beef was over cooked. Sushi was fine.
Service was excellent. Our waitress was very gracious and professional. .
Will definitely visit Katsura more often.
Food was awesome from presentation to taste. Tapayaki table is quite nice, you can eat while watch your food being cooked in front of you, and I find the winterlicious menus showcased the high quality of the restaurant. Won’t be disappointed with any of the 3 choices! Very spacious and family friendly too, planning to bring my toddler next time soon. Special mentioning to the house made dipping mustard source, very good companion to everything! Five stars!!
We had a great experience. It was my husband’s birthday and they even brought us a small piece of cake with a candle in it!
When we arrived I was nervous that I had made a poor choice because I have severe fish allergies and they cook everything on the same surface and with shared utensils... this restaurant was VERY careful with allergies and accommodated our concern easily. I haven’t been there before BUT I will definitely return!
Food was tasty, service excellent, and an overall very enjoyable experience.
my experiencing was awesome i definitely will be back
Good value, good portion, good food. Would go again.
Came for Winterlicious but didn’t know it was a teppenyaki meal until seated. The menu there was not spaced properly (menu options were unclear) and actually said on top ‘Served at Teppenyaki table for maximum freshness’. ...What?
The appetizer was normal. I got the miso soup that tasted.. like casual miso soup. There were a few pieces of mushrooms added in that made it a bit special but not anything noteworthy.
I got the ‘Wagyu beef’ as main and asked for medium rare. Turns out the middle was noticably frozen when i got it (probably frozen beef) and pretty much none of the insides were cooked. Everything tasted of oil as typical of teppenyaki. Typical of the teppenyaki you spend 20 dollars for and go for the environment, and not a 50+ dollar Winterlicious meal.
For dessert I got the Green Tea and Black sesame ice cream. Also nothing special. It just tasted like the store bought ones.
Our server forgot about us after our main as we took a bit longer to eat than the other guests at our table. (At that point we were already thoroughly disappointed though).
Honestly came into this restaurant with the mindset that since it is a winterlicious meal, we would get quality food (especially for this price point) at a discounted price. But that was definately not the case. The restaurant overvalued itself and put their menu above it’s price point (I would put it in the $30 bracket instead of $50+ but would still not go again)
It gets a strong ‘10/10: would not recommend’ (avoid it like the plague)
[O and tea is extra. but I can accept that]
The food was tasteless, the restaurant interior is outdated and the service is not at all what you would expect in a high end restaurant. I can get much better Japanese food in the neighbourhood for half the price.
Service and food was very good. However, decir was old and worn. Restrooms appeared to be very beat up and dirty, also had a slight smell of urnine. The host and wait staff were excellent, very attentive and engaging.
