Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria - Rock Hill
We really love going to Katie's. Our college aged daughters alway request a visit when they are home on breaks. However, the last 2 times we've visited as a party of 3 or 4 (with reservations) we've been seated at tall tables. They really aren't big enough for 3 much less 4 people to be comfortable. This past Saturday I was seated in the passageway to the kitchen area for the servers. As guests with reservations we should get better seating than this. Also, we were REALLY rushed this past Saturday. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation time and were out the door in about 50 minutes from the time we arrived. And that's WITH consuming a bottle of wine. I appreciate not having a long wait for food, but each of our courses arrived before we had finished the last one and it really felt like they were trying to turn the table. We had to eat quickly in order to keep up with them. It felt more like a lunch time guaranteed in & out in 30 minutes.
Complimentary flatbread and white bean dip was the best thing I had! Market vegetable salad, house cabernet, and carrot olive oil cake were all just fine. Lively atmosphere!
Pear special martinis were wonderful!
Great arugula/prosciutto pizza, mushroom pasta and cauliflower pasta
Enjoyable dinner before the StL Rep Theater
Outstanding dining experience. My daughter and I arrived at 4:45 on a Friday and were seated immediately. Had the fried artichokes and house special burrata w/citrus slices, both excellent. The bread which came with the burrata was thick and crusty and worth ordering alone! My daughter loved her Classica pizza, she was blown away by the "best ever" crust, I had the Black Garlic Bucatini which was very strong (I was warned by the server!) but also very good. Service was outstanding alll around, Will definitely go back soon.
The food was stellar, and service was excellent. Only negative was that it’s very loud. I’d go again with my husband or other adults, but it was a bit too much with my kids.
We always enjoy Katie's; the food is delicious and the service team is friendly and welcoming.
The atmosphere and quality of food/drinks was outstanding. It can be a bit loud, but if the noise doesn’t bug you...you’re good to go. I would highly recommend Katie’s to all of my family and friends!!!
The food st Katie's is not complex but is very good and more than ample. We all had the $15 "salad and.." . Of the 5 of us, all but one got a doggy bag. Good food and good price is inevitably a draw!
Always wonderful food. It is great but WAY too loud even when the place is just half full. Even getting there at 1:45 and asking for a table in the corner did not help. We will pick another spot if we want to visit. At least Town and Country has the fabric panels to absorb some of the noise. Love you guys and a little noise is fine, but when you can’t hear the other person at a 2 top, it is not good.
It is clear from the crowd on a cold, Thursday evening that this restaurant is very popular. I met a friend there for food and conversation. With the outdoor seating unavailable due to the cold weather, the restaurant was crowded and a bit chaotic. Despite having a reservation on OpenTable, we were seated at a small high top table that was wedged between the take-out prep area and another table. Our table butted up to the prep cooks and the open fire pizza oven which made for a warm dining experience. Not a great place for relaxing conversation. On the positive side, the pizza was good, albeit pricey as it ran $63 for two pizzas, water, one dessert and tip. The service and food were good and Katie's clearly has a strong following.
Delicious food- everyone enjoyed their brunch from the biscuits and gravy to the lemon ricotta pancakes! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Reserving a table ahead of time is definitely recommended. It was busy!
EVERYTHIG WAS PERFECT BUT SO LOUD
The go-to casual Italian restaurant in the STL area. We've been there numerous times over the past few years and never disappointed. Reliable, great food. Wood-oven pizza. Home made pastas. Large selection of beer, wine. Restaurant interior is friendly and fun.
Outstanding service and food at this casual restaurant on Manchester Road. Squid Ink Pasta was out of this world--pizza is very good, too. Enjoyed the complimentary hummus and soft pita bread. Greg, our server, was personable and accommodating. Overall, a great experience.
One of my favorite restaurants. Great happy hour values. The home made pastas will have me coming back
So delicious! And the service is great. We are on the older side ;) and the lunch twofer offers are just the right size plus the twofer menu offers such a variety of really good options that it's hard to choose. Thanks for a great lunch!
Always delicious! And service always friendly and knowledgeable.
Appreciate the chef's creative approach to food. Unique and interesting combinations. Would double-check on the amount of salt in some dishes.
We love Katie's and it never disappoints! Great cocktails, salad, pizza and pasta!
Had a great Valentines date!
The food was fantastic and the service was perfect.
The food was delicious. You can tell that the chef respects the ingredients and process. Only way to eat here is through opentable.
Amazing as usual! Love all of my experiences here.
Absolutely LOVE Katie’s Pizza! The atmosphere is fun and energetic. The food is so good and authentically Italian. The Lasagnotte Tartufo is excellent and truly unique. This is our favorite restaurant!
By far our favorite place to eat, never disappoints
Always a wonderful experience!
Great birthday celebration with wife and kids.
Fabulous food, great service - we were seated by the door and there was no protection from the wind and cold outside so we kept getting blasted with cold air...but otherwise the experience was fantastic.
The fried artichoke salad was amazing
Great food. But very noisy and very tight quarters.
Wonderful food as always!!
Food was excellent as always. Our server was very helpful when we had a couple questions about the menu. One of our family’s favorite restaurants!
VERY LOUD. Someone’s overbooked and reservations run late. Service was quick.
Hard to want to sit for too long. The noise level is one of loudest in town with music blaring over talkers. Best to wait for outdoor seating to open.
No place decided to wZit to be seated so people literally standing around diners waiting to be sat.
Food is good- servers work hard. Not a relaxing atmosphere or room on a busy night
Pizza and salad were excellent. Sever was very friendly and sweet.
Made a reservation but still took 20+ more minutes to be seated as this is a popular place on Friday night. Kinda nice to be at the hip spot but also kinda tiring to wait so long to be seated at the end of a Friday.
Could use some sound absorbers as the ambiance was super loud.
Food is good and authentic. Will be back but maybe not on a Friday.
This visit was the second time for me, but the first for my wife. Although we had a reservation, we had to wait a little, but it was 6:00 PM on a Friday. The service was very good. The food was outstanding. The fried artichokes, lamb bolognese, and the pizza classica were all great with just the right portions for sharing and the ability to take home some leftovers for lunch. The salad was just okay. We will definitely be back.
Love this location! Great spot to dine right before the Rep Theater.
Enjoyed the potato pizza, cauliflower pasta, and mushroom pasta- all 3 entrees were winners!
Wine recommended was just OK, but other than that, great night out!
Service and food was great.
Yummy. The Lemon Strozzapretti is my favorite pasta anywhere in STL. My only concern is Katie's seems to be getting more and more expensive. I now only go at lunchtime. A twenty dollar lunch is pretty pricey, but I pay it because of the quality of the food. Don't think most people can afford a twenty dollar lunch on the regular.
Great food and service and it is loud so conversations are sometimes difficult to hear.
